Ya know this sounds pretty simular to the phone conversations that we've heard. Might be IG

They did mention security issues that were going to be fixed.

Although it would appear that this hack job lacked the grace of an AR related hack job.

Flood Containment Control in action?

I would think if the phone conversation relates to this forum hacking, we'd see all of the other sites being covered up as well, and the job would be pretty sloppy, if IG, since we'd be expected to be able to follow along where this ARG want to take us . . .

this hacking wasnt game related at all, the person in question hacked a ninja named pezzas account. He then proceeded to ban or blacklist every single ninja he could. After removing his opposition he deleted all of the stickie notices, and began posting meatspin threads, and rick-roll posts. The entire hacking was very much OOG, and only lasted about 12 mins.

Some of you already know that I'm a moderator over on Bungie.net, and some of you are learning this from this sentence.

In any case, there's not a lot I can say about that incident except that it was malicious, and we've tracked down the offender and dealt with him appropriately. You can confidently write it off as Out Of Game.

-- Steve's wondering at the level of sad-pandaness required to pull a stunt like that. Sheesh.

You do realize that's the sort of statement that would convince a true conspiracy theorist that it was a stunt. Very Happy

Just had to point that out.

Woo! I know a famous person. Smile

I'm sorry that happened to your forums. Good luck with getting things back to where they were earlier. Let us know if we can do anything to help.

Just to remind those true conspiracy theorists out there, unfiction is off-limits to puppetmasters to post about their game while the game is running. I know that Anton P. Nym respects that rule -I was on the fireflies wiki he hosted-so please take him at his word here.

Of course, if he was in-the-know about Iris happenings (which he's not), then by posting here he's breaking the TOS, and he'd know it.
Steve's an HBO moderator, and if he says it's OOG, it's OOG.

ie, it's OOG.

edit: oh, rose, you beat me again Wink

True Conspiracy Theorists are still explaining away the Apollo landings. I don't really concern myself too much with what they might think. Razz The only reason I know anything at all about this being OOG is because I'm one of those mopping up afterwards in the forums.

Though I suppose I should state clearly and for the record that I'm not involved in running Iris in any way; I'm just as in-the-dark as everybody on what this is about.

-- Steve will cop to having been a PM once, though, ironically before he knew what an ARG really is. (Note that that, too, is OOG for Iris.)
