I figured direct word from JJ Abrams that they aren't related would be enough to consider them separate....

A questionable response posted on some crappy news site...hardly concrete. There has been nothing definitively linking the sites either. So you can't really say do one thing or do another.

Does it strike anyone else as odd that in order to get a copy of the Triton Enterprises image, first you have to view source, call up the referenced css file, then call up a second css file that the first one references, and then you find the URL to the image?

Would they make it that hard to get to the image itself if there wasn't something we were supposed to get from it?

I think it is odd nothing is actually listed in the body. They went a very round about way to display that info.

Hmm, that is odd.... Well let's take a look at the picture:

http://images.secureserver.net/hosting_welcome/main.jpg

We have two men looking away from each other on opposite sides of the pic.
An @ is next to the walking man and a www. is next to the sitting man.
The woman in the center has a chair to her right. Hmm.... but what does it mean.
Of course wrapping the image gets: www.sitter walker @ woman chair.
Which could mean nothing or is some kind of odd e-mail address.

Either that or it's just a picture that makes the site look pretty Smile

You need to refresh. That's the default page that's now gone, and wasn't relevant because lots of sites have it.

or, you could just right-click on the image and select "View Background Image" from the context menu... (at least that's how i do it in Firefox)

Heh. Granted. But my point is that from a design standpoint, it seems like the only reason to do it the way they did would be to call attention to it.

But... why? I see very little that's unusual. The blue x may mean something but otherwise it just looks like a normal logo....

EDIT: Also of note is that you can't highlight the image. If that means anything, I don't know.

I definitely do not have an answer to "why". It seemed a little too round-about to me.

I didn't check the filesize. It the graphic abnormally large enough to have something hidden in it?

That because, as referenced above, it's a background image displayed via the css file.

I suspect that Triton might be a front for Van Mantra to get more word out about Ethan Hass and his "vision(s)" of the "future". He has said recently, via email, that he needed a new way to get his message out because the Mezin were on to him.
So I think Triton was invented by Van and dummied up.

Or EHWR is promo for Triton - new marketing company, that provide even ARGs for other companies (like for Paramount) Wink .

Hmm, IMHO nothing odd or trying to get attention - they just make it ready for more complex site (CSS template). Nothing odd if u ask me, just standart webdesign.
