cbecker_at_nru: I assume you are available.
xxxxx: You can't even remember your own secret password.
cbecker_at_nru: Where is your horse?
xxxxxx: Seraphim
cbecker_at_nru: That is an odd place to keep a horse
xxxxxx: It certainly is
xxxxxx: Want to tell me what yours is doing there
cbecker_at_nru: Judging by your response, I'll assume you are merely fishing
xxxxxx: Just testing various bait
cbecker_at_nru: hmm, perhaps you need to use real bait. The plastic lures aren't terribly effective when casting for larger fish
xxxxxx: Who said I was trying for larger ones?
cbecker_at_nru: Aren't you?
xxxxxx: Ah I see - The smaller the pond the bigger the fish thinks it is.
(at this point was a pause)
xxxxxx: You should ask Turgenev what happened in Tabas.
cbecker_at_nru: I know what happened in Tabas. Do you?
xxxxxx: Yes. Spectrum.
cbecker_at_nru: So far, you've been accusatory and rife with misinformation. Was there a point you wanted to make?
xxxxxx: Are you certain that is what you want for your world?
cbecker_at_nru: You know nothing of my world.
xxxxxx: Tell Katrina I said Hello.

OK ... I think I got him interested... And I was the one that logged off, to keep him guessing...

Where do we take it now?

I think you've got him on the run. Wink

Spec: Next time he wants to know where a horse is, you might tell him which chess space it's on.

It's just a thought, if there is a next time.

These two threads need to merge into this one, since they're the same idea.

I was attempting to keep the interaction just for the interaction not for discussion about where it should go next Dmax. But if they want, the Mods can move those messages here.

Int he meantime I got for messages from Becker on YIM after I logged off:

#1
(answering my comment about "Tell Katarina I said Hello)
Quote:
cbecker_at_nru (2/9/2004 6:43:09 PM): Who should I attribute that to?

#2
Quote:
cbecker_at_nru (2/9/2004 6:43:56 PM): Do you work for the Seraphim?

#3
Quote:
cbecker_at_nru (2/9/2004 6:45:30 PM): Perhaps you have more to fear than you assume I do.

#4
Quote:
cbecker_at_nru (2/9/2004 6:46:11 PM): I will be in touch once I learn more about you.

I sent the following later, Becker was off line at the time:
Quote:
cbecker_at_nru: I will be in touch once I learn more about you.
Yahoo! Messenger: cbecker_at_nru may be offline. If so, the message will still be sent and they will see it next time they log in. (2/9/2004 8:46 PM)
xxxxxxx: I know about the time hopping at NRU.
xxxxxxx: I have seen the log listing the sucesses and failures
xxxxxxx: Doesn't it strike you as odd... That maybe the project failure is what was seen as the UFO crash in Roswell New Mexico? The disappearance of Amelia Earhart? You are no longer just documenting history, but creating history? Changing history? I was contacted by someone who left fingerprints in time. I was told by one who knew Professor Turgenev during the work for Spectrum, and the loss of life the failures of that project cost. If you are doing this to learn more about criminal behavior, is the loss of innocent life, thousands of innocent lives, lives that your department should be protecting, worth the small gains in knowledge? There has to be a better way.
xxxxxxx: There is too much room for this to be abused. Too many secrets surrounding it.
