 		I give up
I thought the baby would reconcile the two plot lines: time travel and the apocalypse.

Now the baby is here and he is sick... is this the antichrist?

someone else needs to figure this one out because I am completely lost.

Sometimes a baby is just a baby. It points to the fact that, in some line, Meg must have gotten pregnant earlier than in the first two... by a factor of several months. Looks like in some line Jake was home last April- May for Junior to be born at 10 lbs +... If not before that...

 		"Breathing problems" could mean that he's breathing too fast. He may not have trouble at all. Remember how Meg said his heartbeat was over 200? Seems like with the growth the baby is doing, he does everything else fast too.

This is where I should not put in a comment about his poor wife, but can't help myself and do it anyway. Twisted Evil
