UPDATE: at speed hunting club

Hey folks,
There's a change at http://www.speedhuntingclub.com/ .
Unfortunately, i can't see much on it (lousy hardware),but there seems to be a new trailer there called "waterwalk".
I count on you all to be my high speed, nonantiquated eyes.
Whada ya see, whada ya see.
"Getting closer every day."

Thanks,
drizjr

Nice catch, driz!

The problem in viewing the page is not in your hardware, tho. The source file paths in the code are busted which is why the picture and the flash don't show.

Hopefully they'll correct it soon!

I called the toll free number....and it went to a message center, but then a woman picked up and said "Hello". I freaked a bit and hung up.

Do we suspect that this site is in-game?

Other Flash Files

For posterity, I preserved the two flash files that made only a brief appearance on Speed Hunting Club today, as well as the third and current version.

1. Waterwalk
2. Digitalis
3. Flying Hand

It's not in-game.
When you go to www.godaddy.com, and find the little "WHOIS" link near the bottom, and put in waterwalk .com ... and then type in the generated code (to prevent web crawlers), you can see that waterwalk.com was purchased in 97. It's a cool website - and with all the flash, it looks like it could be in-game, but when you add the fact that the site's been around for over 5 years, the real person at the end of the real phone number, and the fact that if you go to www.archive.org, you can see the several iterations of the home page for the web design company that's had the website for 5 years.

I didn't catch WHERE the "waterwalk" name came from on the SHC site, but, what I gathered is that WaterWalk created the (rather beautifully eerie) hand flash that's now at SHC. A couple of the sites listed on the client list at WaterWalk panned out to be real people/organizations.

2. Digitalis

There is that six fingered hand again.

Thanks Space...you da man. So what is that on the hand in the flying hands thing? Looks like a six, an S or a snake or a ribbon. 6 maybe since there is an emphasis on the six fingers.

ZMaiden suggested in #unf that it looks like the astrological symbol for Jupiter.

Misha posted a vidcap over at CD. My vote for the symbol on the flying hands is for a squiggle with a bar across the top - more than an "S", and not closed below so it can't be a 6 or a 9. A letter from another alphabet?

Look at the alchemy symbol for "dram"--that's what I think is on the hands.

What the symbol is

Hi All!

Here is what I think the symbol is. If I am not mistaken, it is a symbol from the Sanskrit alphabet. If you look at this page: http://www.americansanskrit.com/athome/online01/alphabet.html and look down on the line of cerebral consonants, it is the one in the middle, called da (with a dot under the d). I don't know what the significance of this would be, but I think that is the symbol we are dealing with.

Hope this helps,

MaggieMae

SPEC: Symbols

Wow you folks are great! Followed some of your ideas and found the following:

Re: the symbol towards the thumb on the palm that resembles a 3.

An ideogram from seventeenth-century alchemy for cinnabar, i.e. red mercuric sulphide vermilion.

Cinnabar:
name originally from ancient Persian "zinjifrah", "dragons blood", soluble in aqua-regia. Used as a carving material in China.

Dragons blood caught my eye because on the palm where the snake-like S figure is there is also a pink spot that sometimes when I look at it seems like a fire breathing dragon. Also, the prior clip was Digitalis which as someone else has already posted is an herb used "as a cardiac stimulant"

Dragons Blood: used to heal wounds, in coloring varnishes and lacquers, in photoengraving, as a douche for gleet, and in an incantation to bring back a loved one.

Note: Digitalis for cardiac stimulant and Dragons Blood to bring back a loved one. The trailer has someone being taken away by EMTs and graveyard..... have I gone totally mad yet?

This is going to be great fun though.... thanks for all the ideas so far!

I don't think that digitalis is really going to be part of this, but I agree with the EMT/graveyard/despair at the CRT impression.

What if you could wish that someone didn't/did die - and you regretted it later?...

(Does a monkey's paw have 6 fingers? Wink )
