Re: slusho wierdness
index.swf is weird too

Grym wrote:
Okay, so I've been going over the index.swf file on slusho and trying to find inconsistencies.

Here's what I've found so far:

1.) {snip}
See this strange triangle on the left? This doesn't appear on the site but yet is present in the picture files. I think that it's hidden via some clever alpha blending. Regardless, do these markings mean anything to any of you?

2.) {snip}
Now this is weird. You'll notice that this isn't an option and never shows up like this in the actual website. To make the "flavors" text for the navigation button text, they actually cover up both the english text and what is supposed to be "menu" and leave only the Japanese for "flavors" (with no parenthesis) and manually add the English "Flavors" text below it to make the final object. It's a very roundabout way to make such text. Why would they do this?

This might be a flash designer trying to cover up a mistake, but who knows, it could be something too. Can anybody confirm that the first Japanese word truly means menu? Maybe somebody might try to e-mail the customer support using the keyword "menu"?

BTW, the image number for this is image 69. Maybe that's relevant?

3.)

This is very strange too, and it's like this on history.swf too. For some reason, this text is initially reversed. Before the image is displayed is reversed again in the final animation. Again, why would they do this? Is this a hint that maybe we need to reverse the text (maybe the Japanese)?

-------------------
What I haven't found:

1.) No weird scripts like in history.swf
2.) No outbound links of any kind.

Those "strange marking" in the lighter triangle are just leftovers from them constructing the hills in the background. If you look close, the hills were created by making oblong ovals, and then cutting the horizon right across them. Nothing secret, just creator residue.

(moderator removed embedded images from the quoted block because they are too wide; refer to the original post for links -- catherwood)

Since this thread has gotten so large and chaotic, could you put anything you're up to regarding the slusho trail in the slusho story thread so we can keep it organized, or start organizing? Thanks ;-P

ps, and if you can shrink that picture down first it would be appreciated ;-p

I emailed slusho with the subject menu 69 with no special result.

I Hope This Helps

In the interests of collecting as much solid information as we have, I've started a blog. It's called "We'll Miss You Rob". I'm holding to some pretty basic rules for what I put in there:

1) Save a brief explanatory page dealing with the Ethan Haas stuff, I'm sticking strictly to the 1-18-08 game.
2) I'm only including information that appears to be solid. I'm not putting in speculation unless it's very good speculation, which a solid chunk of evidence behind it.
3) For the present, everything I get, I'm getting from threads on the unforums.

It's a WordPress blog so, if you're registered there (which is quick, painless, and free), you can post comments to the posts.

The site is only a couple or three hours old, so there's not a ton of information there. I've spent most of the evening setting it up, and adding pages for the Ethan Hass sites and an exhaustive description of the Slusho! site. I'm doing this in whatever free time I have. Though I've been in contact with one other person who has agreed to help administer the site, I'll probably ask a couple more folks to lend a hand, if they're so inclined.

I'm not after link-whoring or any particular amount of publicity. I do run another WordPress blog, so my name links back to that one. It was a lot easier to do that than to set up a new identity or change my basic ID info for my other site. But, I don't have any plans on doing anything other than acting as the best repository for good information as I can. I won't be perfect, so bear with me.

Feel free to poke around. I'll work on the 1-18-08 site next. Then I'll tackle the trailer.

After looking at the trailer again... one thing I do notice is that Rob comes to his surprise party... it looks like about 11:15. There is a clock on the wall behind him when he walks in the door.. just more info

i was searching threw the video again looking for the time on a clock as rob walks in and i noticed that the entry that Rob and His friend came in you can see outside(this is an assumption) and you can clearly see bricks as if it was lighted by the sun......

It might just be the hallway. Hard to tell. Also: anyone notice how strange the first flash of that guys camera is? Almost like it's animated. Probably nothing.

EDIT: Also, the entire apartment has a bare brick motif, so I'm gonna go with no on the daytime thing.

:47 seconds into the teaser.

Check out the map of Manhatten(?) on the right. What are those lines coming in from the water represent?

Sorry to add more, but there are six of those lines.
