Ok I don't know how to do a screen capture but as I was watching the trailer once more I noticed somthing very perlexing to me. At 1:20 in using this video http://youtube.com/watch?v=KQWFOgvPE20 as Rob? (guy in the suit facing away from camera) leaves the room there is a man in front of him slightly to the right wearing a long sleeve shirt. On the back of his shirt there is a pretty sizable circle of lightness to his shirt. I played it over and over agian to figure out wtf it was, if it was light cast on, or somthing, but I did not find this out. If you use the apple version of it and go to that part of the trailer it looks a lot better, better picture.

One more thing about this is that as this man walks to the right of the screen look at the bottom right hand of his shirt just as that part is about to leave the frame. A small glimpse of the same circle appears again, as if there are 2 of them. IDK what this is but if anyone can figure this out then thanks.

What about this one....and the buffet following...they got some heavy in your face clues going on with the asian elements for sure. It's just too much a focus to not be tied to slusho the company.

And whatever, but I cannot help find it decidedly whacked and ever so curious here that Perplexcity and whoever was doing the billion2one org business (that still comes up in the ads on UF in the top right corner), looking for someone presented only as "satoshi"...and now we got the slusho site with the satoshi email and site owner, and that seems curiously unmentioned despite this being company history - I mean he's family too, why not tell us his name....and that it seems quite likely Satoshi is Ganu's cousin.....

And that guy who asks how you're gonna survive without Rob, he's like your main dude....looks like that guy on the Satoshi site, so bite me Razz

That's just a little tooo.......convenient. But still.

There is the phone book someone was asking about, and the red thing is the stamp, or red square thing on the white board under the banner. It looks like a dinosaur ;-p

Re shirt guy - yep that was my pet peeve issue a dozen pages ago. He's the guy with his back to the view in 1-18 sites pic 2. I got shots of the shirt, pg 44 or 45 and around that area I posted them if you want to look. What they are hasn't really been determined, CG in as a hint, or some pattern of the shirt print (even tho the print is stripes...).

I will state for the record that when Rob comes in the door, and I mean right then, after girl quietens people down, the stripe shirt guy can be seen on the left of the screen with his arm around an oriental chick, as he raises his bottle in salute/hello for Rob - and the damn circles are on the front of his shirt then too. It goes by too fast so the frame shots help.

if you mean me, gadwin print screen 3.5 - a freebie one I found online ages ago.

EDIT BACK: circles, I have no idea but they've been bugging me since I first ssaw them, and given the giant slusho clue on the one guy's shirt I am a little stuck on this one being on the same track but wtf they are I have no idea. They look at face value like they are part of the fabric but who the hell would make a shirt like that - so for the time being I tentatively fall on the fence of CG'd in later to look that way, and they have some significance - or they're a herring to make us zombies.

Assuming you have Quick Time player and the 1080 HD trailer from apple, all you need to to is pause the trailer on whatever you want to take a screen cap of and press "PrntScn" (print screen) on your keyboard. This copies what your screen looks like into the clipboard. Then just open up an image editing program, crop/resize (if you want), and save.

You can get some pretty decent caps with the 1080 trailer and print screen:

Fahrenheit to Celsius Conversion

63 degrees Fahrenheit = 17 2/9 degrees Celsius.

18 degrees Celsius = 64 2/5{64.4} degrees Fahrenheit.

Small interesting side note: I have a buddy in the marketing dept. at Paramount, specifically the trailer division. Been trading calls since I first went down the rabbit hole over the weekend in hopes of pumping him for information. Well, total washout. But a fascinating one.

The trailer was not produced by any of the in-house trailer guys, and the marketing department is either completely uninvolved and not behind the curtain of the viral campaign/arg OR only the very highest level guys have any idea what's going on. Apparently, everybody on the creative team/assistant level is completely excited and hunting down all the information they can find just like we are. My friend's instinct is that the higher-ups know more than they're letting on (based on knowing smiles and the like), but he's not even sure of that. He says that in the past they've had to sign additional nd agreements for super-double-secret projects (beyond the ones in the base employment agreement - Indy 4 was the example), but they have not had to sign one on 1-18-08.

He had no clue on title beyond the fact that most of the staff is still referring to the project as Cloverfield, though he thinks this may just be arbitrary (he's seen the Slusho signs around town directing crew/extras to various locations, but that hasn't been mentioned internally beyond water cooler speculation).

So... that was an overlong post to say that people in the Par marketing dept don't really know any more than we do.

O.k Doing some reading on the IMDB forum i saw something that cought my attenction. Now before you all call me a noob and what not this is none of my stuff just posts on the IMDB forum. ok listen up.

Now we all know the video game Rampage. Ok here are some peoples theories on this that might be related to 1-18-08.

Starting off with this post that got me searching.

"It has to be, think about it. And if not, then I am WAY too excited for a Rampage movie. But the story to Rampage and this, albeit way too crpytic, are too similar to just brush off."

Then the post after brought me to this.

"Rampage. Look on Page 4 and read syko-paranova's idea, not the first time and some of the most reliable ideas so far we're along the same lines as this guy... (here:http://imdb.com/title/tt1060277/board/thread/79257368?d=79266299&p=4#79266299) "

So i went to that link and read this

"as soon as i heard about the whole slusho thing i immediatly thought of the videogame

Rampage:Total destruction where you have six starting monsters

George the Ape
Lizzie the Dinosaur
Ralph the Wolf
Gilman the Blowfish
Rhett the Rat
Ramsey the Ram

and in this game they were all transformed into monsters by a type of soda, i cant remember the name, but it was from a lab and then they just go out and destroy cities, if you've played the rampage series you know what i'm talking about..."

i started to laugh then i thought hang on a second. The movie does have a monster in it maybe a few we dont no for sure cause well if you think about it, the monster couldent of made that big ball of fire that spits out metors that the cam had to zoom in on, then run all the way to the SOL and throw the head in what a matter on 15 seconds. Another thing that cought me off guard was the drink feature in the game, and in relastion to the slusho drink that is connected to the movie.

Now you are all thinking, ahhhhhh what but the film is being recored though a camcorder. Yes and i thought about that for a well, and thinking for a while i thought well you cant really tell a story from a monsters point of view can you, you can but those movies are lame and boring but some you can. now think about this wouldent you yourself like to recored something that really did happen like rampage where monsters are running around distorting crap. I know i would lol

Please dont bash me on this, its just a thought and kinda does make sense if you think about for a bit you never know.

And by the way the movie for rampage is set to release in 2008. And if you click on the link here it shows nothing at all.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0942383/

I'm not buying it yet, but you make an interestting point about the soda in the game...I'd forgotten about that... and about the roar (lizzie) and the "smoke wolf" people think they say (Ralph).
It also sort of matches up with the dream that Noriko has about GROWING INTO A LARGE WHALE after drinking the slusho ingredient.

Now, on another note, everyone remembers the two seemingly pointless items on the slusho site, right? Cheese and an oven mit. Have we tried finding the japanese terms for these two objects? Perhaps they are two halves of a larger word or clue? If the CUPS means something, then those two symbols are WAY too prominant to just be potpourri.

Re: Rob's role in the movie and connections to Slusho.

The party is for him. Rob is the protagonist of the trailer, and I assert, the protagonist for the movie.

His house is decorated in Japanese style. On his refrigerator, for instance, is a sheet of paper with vertical kanji on it. There's a number of other places that also have Japanese writing on it in the house.

They are eating shasimi and sushi.

He is referred to as the "main dude" and it is repeated right away for audience emphasis. This is a classic way of quickly establishing your protagonist - have your supporting characters TELL you that the person is the protagonist.

All the stuff about Rob not looking surprised but concerned. Rob is deeply involved in the monster's story.

The dialogue in this is very limited, so every line counts. Recall that the implication is that Rob should have left town earlier.

In Lost, the specific names of the characters were significant. We should focus some effort on the names on the Slusho site and Rob's name itself.

I still think that map at 0:47 is very significant.

some more info............

i've been trying to figure out this whole thing. i've been to www.ethanhaaswasright.com and completed all of the puzzles, and now i have to wait until august 1st for the next part of this site. so after hearing that this DOESN'T have anything to do with "cloverfield" i went on and tried to find out some more info. i haven't taken apart the teaser yet, nor do i really plan to. too many people are going to focus on this that it would just seem too obvious and i wouldn't have done it. i think that they're trying to lead us on here with the things in the teaser. anyways, i went and dissected the websites. so i went www.theparasitemovie.com and when i viewed the page source info, i found this:

http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/5198/11808andsledridingct4.jpg

now, this is interesting. so i then proceeded to the new website url listed in the page source info, www.sledriding.com/cloverfield and what do you know? it's the same site.

so i decided to look at the page script for this page, and i found out some more information. the countdown is suppose to stop on august 1st 2007, at 12:36am which is the time of the earthquake in the teaser. here's the script from this page. (i accidentally saved it as a .gif file so the color got a little distorted)

http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/7738/sledrindingcloverfieldsms0.gif

so i went to the main website, www.sledriding.com and i find out it's all about sled riding locations in the US, and guess who's name is on it? steve king! could this be some sort of coincidence? like stephen king the author of horror books? who really knows....

http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/622/sledridingmainpagech0.jpg

but then i also checked out www.sledriding.com/cloverfieldcousin as it was listed in the script code, which only lead me to an index listing....

http://img463.imageshack.us/img463/4531/indexofcloverfieldcousiud3.jpg

so then i decided to check out the steve's other sites, and i ended up on www.tossinggames.com (which is also a link at the bottom of www.theparasitemovie.com) and noticed the big bold words ""GAINT/MONSTER sized lawn games." some people actually asked the site admin about his connection to project cloverfield, which he replied with a video on youtube about the news coverage on the movie.

from here i decided to check out www.ethanhaaswasright.com again and i checked the page script and noticed the following listed in the page script:

"...war came, no longer from the elemental nor from the star's rain of fire. The world was again remade, and the glow was as the coming of the sun upon the Earth. The children of the gods were again too few, scattered and divided and among them walked the ancients and those whose thoughts were not as to the towers and the marvels, but to the End and the destruction of the Earth and to the fires from which nothing could escape."

none of which i've ever seen on the site. maybe i didn't pay attention it when i first went to the site, and now that i've completed all the puzzles, it doesn't offer to show me anymore.

but if you were to ask me what i think the monster is, i'd have to say it reminds me of "Lavos" from the SNES game Chrono Trigger. Just the way it looks like it bursts out of the ground and sends rocks and other debris flying. Lavos is the end boss in the game, and it's actually a parasitic alien that crashed into the earth in 65,000,000 B.C. and buried itself deep within the earth. it's been devouring the earth since and Lavos finally emerges in the year 1999 A.D. and destroys almost all life on the planet before it moved onto another planet to continue it's cycle. just the video of the teaser reminded me of this event, since it looks similar to that of the video in the game. but hey, it's just my thought. i know it's gotta be something else, but that's what it reminds me of.

[edit - sorry, those other images of screen caps were wayyyy too big for this forum, so i changed them to links - kona]

Do the markings match up with any Japanese symbols?

Did a quick online translation

fish uo, sakana, fisshu
cheese chi-zu, kanraku, furoma-ju
donkey usagiuma, donki-, roba
ass ketsunoana
oven kohheru, tenpi, o-bun
glove guro-bu, tebukuro, gurabu, guro-vu

No mit that i could find.

That does just about nothing for us, but I'm putting it out there. Anyone who actually knows Japanese? Maybe it's a pun or idiom or something a native speaker will understand.
