It looks like the list appears here in a song by Aeon, called Dead They Await http://www.lyricsdownload.com/aeon-andquot-deadandquot--they-await-lyrics.html (sorry for the long url!)

And the song refers to the Elder Ones, which is another Cthulhu link.

And it actually appears in The Horror at The Red Hook by HP Lovecraft as found here http://www.netherreal.de/library/necro/index.htm

However when I searched individually on random names - they meant different things!

Anyway, It's interesting enough for me to register at the forum and quote the lyrics. The list of names certaintly seems to point to The Elder Ones. I'm so hoping for Lovecraftian links here. Very Happy

I don't think this is anywhere close to real. EHWR and EHWW (despite being a blogsite) have been well done. But more importantly they are not using free email systems. Hush.com is a webmail (much like yahoo or hotmail). Van's responses have never had taglines or advertisements, nor to my knowledge have the Mezin. Also assuming Triton is part of the game (And I think they are but not the Mezin nor Van), their email isn't coming from a free site and is free of adverts.

All this to say, the game has had better integritiy than that (even if some other "plots" haven't been). This is most definitely a game jacking attempt and just stringing you along. They are throwing in Lovecratian items so you will bite. He will probably will reveal something, but only enough to string you along til you find out differently.

I'm with the others we need to sit and wait til August first on this. But let's monitor Triton's site, Blogspot, and maybe whois info on Triton and EHWR for changes.

I would agree and even propose something here. For the sake of keeping everyone on the same page and minimizing the attempts at game jacking, let's start to keep track of where information comes from.

For instance, let's say I found a new email address at Triton. I'd start off my post informing you all of this as so :

EHWR.com -> DNS lookup on owner of EHWR.com -> TritonEnterprises.net -> some-new-characterSPLATtritonenterprises.net

This way there's no question about where the email address came from and if its legit or not. If we all got in the habit of doing this by 8-1, I would say we'd be in pretty top shape to tackle whatever they can throw at us in an extremely quick and efficient manner. At this point, I'd say anthing that doesn't start with EHWR.com in it's chain either needs to be ignored or taken with a boulder sized grain of salt.

Any other ideas of how we can prepare ourselves to work better as a team once 8-1 comes?

I really like the idea of using naming conventions for labeling leads and new intel (it appeals to my ocd needs!) The trick is to train new people just showing up to do this as well. we would for one thing need to come up with a plan on the conventions and SOPs I propose not just new emails but say start the the subject description with type of new info (i.e. new email or possible new site, etc...) and then the string of how we came to it. If we can set that up and get a sticky added tot eh begining and that way when new people show up as guests and say hey go look here- we can say hey- you need to label you post- go to the sticky and then come back and edit your post for labeling.... I'm on board!

 		I'm definitely leaning on Triton being either it's own company (related to neither Van or the Mezin, but involved) or that Triton has the next set of clues and is made by Van.
I think you pretty much set up everything teamwork-wise, but I will suggest that we no longer argue over two speculations again.

P.S. I know it's off topic, but why do you replace the @ in emails with a SPLAT?

 		 Update
PM if anything is missing or incorrect (which I'm sure it is). Will edit and repost periodically and will update with exact times shortly.

During discussion of 1-18-08 in the unification forums notethanhaas posted a link on July 5th a 3:37pm but may not be first recorded incident. Regardless, Ethan Haas Was Right (EHWR) forum was born shortly there after.

One of the stars on EHWR gives an email address vansplatehtanhaaswasright.com. The whois infromation for EHWR gave the same email. When emailed "Van Mantra" replies he has to keep moving and gives hints to solve the puzzles. A second email follows (seeming live) and gives a little more info and says to get recruits. After 5 puzzles are solved, you are given a "code" phrase and more or less told to come back on 8-1-07.

On July 6th Coming Soon has an article mentioning 1-18-08.com (aka cloverfield, aka unnamed jj abrams project), EHWR and EHWW
EHWR and EHWW seemeto be opposing one another while trying to convert as many people as possbile to each side. Both sides reply to email albeit not live. Thanks dv8 for the link

In the WHOIS for EHWR was a physical address and phone number in Florida. When the number was originally called the it contained a message from Van. Later (July 7th). Someone discovered the message had been changed by the Mezin (authors of EHWW).

A new post on EHWW site again confirms 8-1-07. Which many are taking that it isn't related to 1-18-08.com. On July 9th AICN Posts a letter from JJ Abrams that pretty much states 1-18-08.com and EHWR are not related.

The contact listed was emailed but an autoresponse about moving was sent. Triton (via email) states they make high end cooling systems. Most likely for aerospace or military applications.
