I think the idea is that there is a deliberate game buried within the trailer. E.g. The trailer has a dude going to Japan, and another dude with a 'Slusho' shirt. 'Slusho' has ties with another J.J. Abrams creation, Alias. The fine people here found a Japanese site, www.slusho.jp, which was created before this trailer came out, but more than a year after Alias. If it's coincidence, this is scary stuff.

No one wants to break the story or read the transcript, they just want to know the story that has been hidden for them.

There are really only two ways to decree something as IG:

1) It is the initial trailhead
2) It is linked by a recognized IG website or source (or even, say, JJ Abrams in this case)

Since the site which is contested is the one showing the link (EHWR and related sites are all saying "LOOK A THIS! 1-18-08!" meanwhile the 1-18-08 really isn't saying something, we must still remain skeptical.

For that matter, how sure are the rest of you that Slusho is IG? I'm in the vicinity of 95% certain.

Alias - The Movie! LOL j/k

wonder if there is more to it though...the direct link between Alias and this flick is a big yellow LOOK HERE! sign to me..has there been any direct correlation to ANY other Abrams projects?

I wouldn't think so.

Remember: Oceanic Airlines, which is the same as from LOST, appeared on Alias and a number of other places, simply because it is one of those names that is free to use in Hollywood.

Likewise, Driveshaft's big hit, "You All Everybody," was in the background of an episode of Alias in season five. Now, Driveshaft is a fictional band from LOST, but I don't think anyone expects it to be the same universe as Alias. So the use of Slusho is probably just another "hey I made it up so I can use it as much as I want" kind of deal.

Just like Tarantino uses Red Apple Cigarettes in most of his movies, it's like a trade mark

Exactly.

Or Kilgore Trout in the Vonnegut books, for that matter.

yea!

So this time not only did he use the same brand in a trailer where it was necessary. He then proceeded to make a fake website about it, IN JAPANESE, and hint at the fact that there are more game websites out there for people. Because its all a coincidence.

AceFest

Is anyone going to be in NY on Aug.24th cause I think the Ace film festival is something worth checking out. There are several clues that point towards it i.e street address and the graffiti in the trailer.

J.J. Abrams denies Ethan Haas/Cloverfield connection:

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/33261

I sincerely do apologize if this has been said but I still some people in the last 6 pages trying to convince everyone that the two are connected.

I haven't really been here since Last Call Poker, and I got through 40 pages this morning but I got impatient.

www.slusho.jp probably not a japanese site!!!

i went to www.slusho.jp and snooped around there, but something about the site seemed very fishy to me. then it hit me. all japanese website would look something like this:

www.DOMAINname.co.jp

they have to have the .co.jp for it to be a japanese website. just check out www.honda.co.jp or www.nissan.co.jp or www.nintendo.co.jp

then try them with just the .jp! they don't work. try it with any japanese company you can think of that might have a website

so this might be something to look into........

sorry if someone already pointed this out. there's over 100 pages to look at and i just don't have that much free time to be reading instead of trying to figure things out......

A-ha!

What is another term for DONKEY?? An ASS, which is the first word JJ capitalized in his message in AICN. Connection? Possibly.

Hi all first posting here,

Just wanted to say that the horse under the sea at the slusho.jp site could be considered as a 'sea horse' (as mentioned before but no-one seemed to pick up on it more) but in Japanese mythology i believe that sea horses were considered as baby dragons (and so could be linked to the oven mitt, as in 'too hot to handle' maybe?)

Let me know your thoughts.

According to the flash the "sea horse" is a donkey.

Aha! Another term for DONKEY is ASS, which is the first word JJ capitalized on the AICN message. Clue? Possibly

nice catch.

anyone can register a .jp domain, but only japanies companies can register .co.jp

this is a bit unusual, since some guy in alabama could register a co.uk or a co.nz

i guess japan is more protective of their country domain.

from here:
http://www.jp-domains.com/info/faq.php

Quote:

Can I register .co.jp domains?

-- Yes, we can register .co.jp domains, however, these domains are highly restricted and you will require a Japanese Business License in Japan. If you have a Japanese business license, please contact support and we will be happy to assist you.

this would lend a lot of weight to this site being IG, since it would seem like this is evidence of SLUSHO! not being a real Japanese company.
