108 films

I went to the Ace movie awards site for 2007, being held on 41 Broadway, NY. I didn't see anything jumping out at me related to what we're looking for. I checked the full list of sponsors, and saw a 108films.com but when I clicked on that link, it wouldn't load the site.
I found they have a MySpace sight, and list themselves as a small independant film making company in New York, but nothing pointing towards relevance.

If you google earth 401 Broadway and look DOWNTOWN... the address fits. You see the buildings, etc... What I had posted at the other site was that lady liberty is definitely in that direction BUT she is to the right. Whatever it is throws her head from the left side... Maybe it was carrying it.

Or maybe they didnt care to fix that prob

Ace Film Festival
Smells like a good lead. . .

By spacing clues out far enough, just as the buzz starts to die off, it starts again. Plus it gives us plenty of time to find the clues. So far, we have two possible real-life leads:

1)The Barker Hangar/E3 - There's no real reason to rule this out - JJ Abrams has already proved to have friends in all ends of the entertainment industry (Sprtie commercials for Lost, anyone?) Why not video games as well?

2)The Ace Film Festival - Oddly taking place at 41 Broadway and sponsoredon the website by 108films.com, a link that appears to lead nowhere. A month and a half away, the timing is perfect, and subtle clues are there.

Basically, I'm saying, let's not rule this stuff out unless we have solid evidence that it CAN'T be possible. Innocent until proven guilty, remember?

And I'm re-posting the screencap I got of the grafitti on the roof when the camera is positioned correctly, showing that it's written diagonally, and "2007" is more likely.

Doesn't sound super promising, although the 41 Broadway/401 Broadway coincidence was interesting. So I would think it is worth keeping an eye on.
Thanks for checking it out though! I'm at work and am enjoying checking to see if any progress has been made. =]

108films.com source code

The source code for the error message at 108films.com yields this line:

Redirection Services RED-04B-CHG W1

web people: Is this standard information, or could this mean something?

Whoa. That made me think - what film is 108films invlolved in at the Ace Festival this year? Could it be a dummy set up just to air another trailer or provide a clue at the festival itself? That could tell us what we're looking for at the festival....

At this point, this is as plausible as anything. I can't get over how much it really seemed like we were supposed to find that ace sign. Right in the middle of the screen, the camera almsot focuses on it.

I meant to post this before sleep loss kciked in last night after I came across the acefilm site.

on the my space page http://www.acefest.com/program07.htm

It list the entries for the films. a few on there would fit in perfect for a real trailer.

space boy, cocktail party, villians.

even though they have a description for the entries it wouldnt stop the producers from submitting something fake and suprising everyone with new info on the film.

108films i think is a big nod to LOST as that is the sum of all the magic numbers 4+8+15+16+23+42=108.
watch this site closely
Very Happy

108 films (judging by their myspace page) are either uninvolved, or they are a legitimate company that's in game, and coincidentally has a name that vaguely connects to our plot.

They have thousands of myspace friends, and they have posts there going back to may 1st (only on the main page, possibly even earlier than that).

So I doubt it's a shell, but still, maybe connected.

108

Interesting, nice catch on the math. When I saw 108films listed I was merely drawn to it because of the 1 and the 08, but figured I was trying to see more than I did... will keep an eye on this, and maybe do some digging on their friends list... myspace had them listed with 9000+ friends when I checked..ughh

108 films etc

More info on the the origin of the ACE festival and 108 films in this article

Quote:
Szczygielski, the ACE event director, has worked as a freelance Web designer, while O'Malley is a Web designer at the New York City center. He is also a co-owner of the small production company 108 Films and director of programming for ACE.

Living in New York, I'd totally go to this thing if we had something more concrete. I mean, I don't think I can do all three days just because.

Hello everyone, I'm new to this board so bear with me. I also haven't read all 100+ pages so sorry if any of this is old.

Alright, so, I've been trying to figure out where the hell the apartment is based on the explosion and the location of the Woolworth building. Here's a picture of the explosion and the location of the Woolworth and the Municipal building.

http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/1138/movieexplosionzi0.png

Here's a map of the location on Google Earth.

http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/8563/mapofexplosionnx5.png

As you can see, the explosion happens be in front of the municipal building but behind the Woolworth building. The first thing I saw was the fact that this explosion doesn't seem to be possible if you were looking at it from a building close to Broadway. The municipal building should actually be closer to the observer than the Woolworth building. It only would seem possible if you were looking at it more so to the west, so that the municipal building is still on the left but further away than the Woolworth building.

The second thing to note is the fact that the explosion seems to be located at New York City Hall. The debris might be the building itself. If this is the case, it reinforces the fact that the monster is intelligent.

Also, I think that the buildings in the roof scene should not be used to determine the location of Rob's apartment. The buildings themselves seem to be just 2D with a computer generated explosion behind them, with the exception of a couple buildings that are actually behind the explosion. None of the buildings blow up or are damaged. There is one building on the far right that catches the reflection of a piece of debris but that's it.
