Last Call

I tried the cbecker login that we got from John Baxter, and surprisingly it worked. Missing from the desktop were all the player e-mails, and the warning letter. There was a change on Becker's Notes too. After the comments about Susan being a good worker, this is there
Quote:
I'm so numb to everything. Between the painkillers and the Prozac, I feel nothing.

I'll be leaving NRU soon. There's nothing left for me here, so they tell me. I guess I have to take their word for it. I wouldn't be able to tell anything, anyhow.

Dr. Rodsild added a couple other medications to my regimen, just to get me over the hump, as she called it. This is one hell of a hump. More like a giant Alp of frozen tundra, and I'm trudging my way up to the top, only to come crashing down in snowy avalanche on the other side. Maybe if I'm truly lucky, I'll hit a tree or a rock mid-way and shorten the pain.

I'd try to fix it, but what's the point? It wouldn't serve anyone any good. I'd only mess things up more.

My espresso machine broke, too. Carafe and everything - its cracked plastic coating is leaking a tiny river of boiling water, leaving a dirty ring on my desk. Seems fitting somehow.

Addlepated suggested in chat: The water from the coffee maker, The River Acheron

Stop the insanity

I guess we could say we were forewarned of the ending.

But I could not help myself and sent out a few last e-mails.
The following is what I sent to Becker and cc: Caretaker
Quote:
We have never spoken before, Mr. Becker, but I feel as if I knew
you in another life. Before you leave NRU, you should talk to John Baxter about Jake Starkey.

I can't go back and fix the past Mr. Becker, I can't reset the pices
on a chass board once we are in the middle of the game, I can only
play the board the way it is. I know you don't understnad why I
said that, but tell it to John when you see him, he might.

Jake Starkey is abusing the technology inside your building. He
has tinkered with time. I cannot change the past Mr. Becker, I can only go forward from here.

Here is where you will find some of our invistigational material.

I am enclosing a copy of the latest blog entry from Jake's site
below, do with it as you think best. The person I have CC "Caretaker"
should be able to help you, all you need to do is ask about Turgenev
ask about SPECTRUM. Then go and follow the money.

(I included a copy of Jake's log for February 14, 2004)

If any of us want to imagine a better ending, here is an opportunity.
