 		I agree that it is possibly the smoke monster. Why else did they show the bad robot sign first? It would make people pay attention.

doubt its the smoke monster... idk that quote kinda makes me think of something scary looking..

Assuming you know what Bad Robot means, which I didn't. I've never watched an episode of Lost or Alias or Felicity. I'm an Abrams neophyte.

I'm fairly sure it's common practice, when logos are shown before a trailer, to show that of the movie company and the production company.

 		I was just saying that it could have some relevance to what the movie will be about. Matter of fact, you thought JJ Abrams when i said Bad Robot.

 		I may be a little late on this whole thing, but I saw Bad Robot, then I heard monster noises similar from the island monster on Lost, and when I saw the smoke moving all creepy like, the Lost addict in me wanted to squiel with delight.

I am, however, in no way, shape or form making any speculations here. I am just hoping the movie will be as good as the trailer.

To the morse person, is that like - - -+- --- - and -+ -+ + ---? I seem to remember from urban hunt that morse code without kind separations for letters is nightmarish, but that someone wrote a script to test possible variation in such a thing.

EDIT: I remember now that that's the sequence you tried, mysterious morse code user I don't recall the username of, based on getting 'sea astir' but if you take the last character as +--- instead of + and ---, that's a B instead, which could be an anagram of AIRBASE, which is familar or faux-relevant sounding to the whole cloverfield thing.


Nice! Yeah, I had speculated "sea astir" might be it, but I like "airbase" too. But that doesn't really explain the positioning of those that are out of alignment with the others.

Taking your POV and looking at them from above, could they form the shape of anything? A figure? A word?

1.Whats the white mark on the back of the guy with the striped shirt when they run out of the apartment onto the street? could it be an O or 0?

I had to Google "Bad Robot" when I first saw the trailer to see what it was.

The its alive statement has been bugging me lately. Lets think about this guys....if you were to first see a giant monster and running away in panic would you just blurt out "It's alive"?...Anyone else care to ponder a little bit on that line. Maybe its something that looks like an inanimate object?

PS: SPGHAGHETI MONSTER AHHH! (j/k *shoots self*)

great point... never thought of the fact that it could be something that we would think would be inanimate and it could be alive... that's a pretty good idea... nice one...

 		I always assumed he was shouting "It's alive!" as opposed to "It's an earthquake!" or "It's a meteor!" or "Terrorists!" Rather, he's seen something, he's not quite sure what it is, but it's definitely a creature, and it's BIG. He's clarifying this as opposed to earthquake/plane crash/natural causes.

 		I don't think "It's alive, it's huge!" is any weirder than people assuming that it's an animal right off the bat when they hear the sound. It's just the trailer's way of telling us that we're dealing with a monster without saying the word "monster."
