Why are certain things looking strange?

It could very well just be my setup or maybe I've missed something but the little buttons, quote being the best example, seem to have gone crazy, I can't decide if the quote button is now an image of an walrus or sea lion or possibly the peak of an officers cap.

The aim button looks like it could be anime robot type thing radiating light, I think it is the Messenger button which has been replaced by psycho, and looking to the left as I type I now know why Razz has kept appearing seemingly randomly in peoples sentences, there is no emoticon!

I thought there was a cool new catchphrase people were using that I didn't get Laughing

So what's the story, I'm using Ubuntu, Firefox, if that helps Razz Laughing

Uhhh... nothing's changed to the forum config, and I certainly don't see any visual changes myself. Could you perhaps post a screenshot for us to see how your world looks? Smile

my guess is that you've been to a site that uses the same names for icons... but that shouldn't matter, as images are cached by domain name... or your ISP is caching images for you... but ditto...

anyway, the fix would be to delete your browser's cache, empty it, close it, then restart your browser.

Fixed

Thanks for that, I guess it was an obvious fix, seeing Razz appear in the middle of sentences was becoming a little weird Razz

I wonder if that means we're all using the tounge poking emoticon too much? Razz

now two of you have this bug? Very suspicious. I wondered why the replacement image wouldn't be resized to fit where the quote button goes, but then I looked at the source code. Our forum sofware doesn't specify a size in the img tag for the buttons -- this probably makes it easier to substitute a skin. Hey, do we have multiple skins to choose from? Not that the site's skins files are being corrupted, but just asking if choosing an alternate skin would also fix your problem.

that is very odd...

if/when it happens again, right click on the misplaced image and quote for us the filename. If it's the right filename, then either the actual files are mixed up (which couldn't be, if others are seeing them correctly), or there's a mixup in your browser's image cache, or there's a bug in the browser itself... can't think of other possibilities.

So yeah, emptying the cache would be my first suggestion too
