After all this speculation, I'm beginning to think a movie about a giant lion destroying New York doesn't sound so bad.
What makes you think it's a lion?
I'm making fun of all those gooftards who thought the guy in the trailer was saying "It's a lion, it's huge" instead of "It's alive and it's huge!"

NO religious link

Ya know what....this is retarded. Why do people constantly assume anything cryptic is related to some hokey religious thing?

Hey, I wasn't suggesting a link to religion.
I was just suggesting a way of analysing the Slusho! History text. You know, taking the first letter, count six, take another letter, then count 6 or 12, take the letter... And so on, just to see if a message emerges. No link to the Bible or the Torah or any other religious book at all !

But the amount of work this kind of analysis represents is just decouraging!
If there's a program to do it, or a talented coder, that would be interesting (even if it's just to take this approach out of the way).

I wasn't referring to you Wink I didn't even see your post, I was looking at the one under it because it was more recent.

I was referring to the one a page or two back with the research etc. by V, and while it was a nice job, it was also a waste of time...the ABZ site has been officially eliminated as irrelevant to this since it was created like July 10 or 11 one, it's brand new and is a glaring shill....and the beginning of the end stuff is Ethan Haas, also not related. V also noted correctly the lack of a measure to tie this into slusho either way, and NOTHING about 1-18 suggests anything with a religious connotation.

In the beginning when the first pic was up, instead of considering the logic there, since nothing appeared to be embedded, logic being it's a photograph and still shot from the camera, hence the time date stamp, we get to wade thru a few pages of bible verses based on the time, and ever so amusingly they had no "spot" for the A in A.M. so they disregarded it since it wouldn't fit the relgious angle they were pushing.

I imagine this sounds cranky but I can blame it on PMS on the way I bet.

yeah yeah I got it...tmi Razz

First of all, Noriko Yoshida must have had a sister. In order for Ganu's coudin to be named Satoshi KAGASHIMA, Noriko must have had a sister who married a man with that last name.
I am working on a crude version of the Yoshida/Kagashima genealogy (Yeah, I know it looks like something a 4 year old would make, but I'm just illustrating a point here):

PS: For all you fans of ARG, I highly recommend William Gibson's novel "Pattern Recognition", which is basically about an ARG gone wild. And it was written in 2003!!!

Doomsday Clock

I was talking to my boyfriend about the whole thing, and he brought up the doomsday clock. I didn't really get where he was going with it, but we looked it up on the wikipedia and listen to this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doomsday_Clock

The number of minutes before midnight, a measure of the degree of nuclear, environmental, and technological threats, is updated periodically. The clock is currently set to five minutes to midnight, having been advanced by two minutes on January 17, 2007.

I know we always look up what happens on January 18th, but we should be figuring out the night of the 17th! Since the bad stuff happens at around midnight on the 17th.

The Doomsday Clock is referenced in Piers Anthony's novel, Wielding a Red Sword, in which the mythical Incarnation of War can control the position of the hands up to midnight and thereby bring about World War III.

^^ This fits in with the Pike Stuff.

The clock illustrations used in the Watchmen graphic novel series is a reference to The Doomsday Clock. On page 18 of issue #1, a newspaper on Adrian Veidt's desk bears the headline "Nuclear Doomsday Clock Stands At Five To Twelve, Warn Experts".

Issue 1, page 18?? Come on guys!

I think this is definetly something that needs to be considered in some way.

Enhanced third photo

Found that on AICN. See the giant lion head in the upper right corner ?
That would explain why the man hold his arms againt his head => he's trying to protect himself.

Do you think it's 'photoshopped' ?

http://www.flickr.com/photos/10030508@N04/794840794/

Methinks it's a fake, 'cos it doesn't fit well with the other clues...

Adding

Adding to the doomsday thing, assuming anyone reads it, apparently CLIMATE chage (ohh, why is it 63 degrees, thats so craazzyy) is factored into it. In issue 1 page 18, we're 5 minutes to midnight.. just like we in reality are this year.

You people suck. I'm smart.

Re: Address of Street Shot

I used google Street View to locate the landmarks in the camera shot down the street. By my best estimates, Rob lives near 478 Broadway (see google street shot) Note the blue awning, with the yellow sign, with the red sign underneath it. This was the only address at which those signs appear that way.

I posted Here that the street shot is actually a composite of Broadway and Orchard Street. the two streets run parallel to each other and don't intersect, so the actual location doesn't exist.

WEll at least the city of New York is permitting it as Cloverfield. http://www.nyc.gov/html/film/html/locations/current_nyc_productions.shtml

This street view shows the Textile signboard

 Slusho horse mitt

I've just googled "horse mitt slusho" and the last answer point to this PDF :

http://digitize.gp.lib.mi.us/digitize/newspapers/gpnews/1945-49/47/1947-02-27.pdf

A 1974 Michigan newspaper with the headline:
"PARKSITE FIGHT RAISES ISSUES"
which I misread for:
"PARASITE FIGHT RAISES ISSUES"
.
.
.
Man, all this Parasite/Cloverfield/11808 stuff is making me mad.
Gotta sleep... Confused

Following up on the Doomsday Clock lead above which I think is a great one! It would be Fantastic if Cloverfield was somehow related to The Watchmen...I see alot of similarities...references to time, clocks etc. It takes place in N.Y Perhaps Rob is Dr. Manhattan? Ive read crazier speculation!lol And the cover are on the 87 Collectors edition reminds me alot of a certain scene in the Cloverfield trailer! I thought I recalled seeing a bright yellow smiley face somewhere in the trailer? And a blood splatered smiley is a reoccuring symbol in The Watchmen and perhaps the circle on the back of the guy running out into the street is representative of that smiley Confused

Test shot of Rorschach visible in a single frame at 1:52 in the R-rated 300 trailer!

The Revelations ... end of times ... idea is starting to sound good to me ...

In religion terms, the Devil is often referred to as a "parasite" ...

Here's a quote ...

"The devil is not, then, a "second principle" next to God, and he cannot overcome God, but he can separate man from God because he exists as a parasite of man's unfaithfulness and embodies human alienation."

Not The Watchmen

Watchmen's rights are owned by Warner Bros, not Paramount.
=> not related to the 11808 movie

Not sure if this is related at all

Could someone with HTML knowledge take a look at www.badrobot.com?
I've been staring at it for a while, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why they need so much code to simply display a picture that doesn't do anything...
