Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm new to this, do ARGs usually get this particular? Do .jpeg images usually start off with 'Ducky Adobed'?

Seriously, by the time it took me to write this post, it was irrelevant. Sorry about that.

Sorry got bored again and started poking around like I do

I must stress that these do nothing on their own if fed into a web browser you need something to make them work

www.slusho.jp/swf/home.swf <-- the main page animation

www.slusho.jp/swf/feedback.swf <-- feedback page with email address

www.slusho.jp/swf/store.swf <-- Not uploaded (yet)

www.slusho.jp/swf/downloads.swf <-- The downloads page

www.slusho.jp/swf/history.swf <-- the history page

www.slusho.jp/swf/happyTalk.swf <-- Not uploaded (yet)

www.slusho.jp/swf/flavours.swf <-- Not uploaded (yet)

Anyway that was mostly obvious but those are the actual file locations themselves and its not that the flash is preventing you from seeing them they are just plain absent at this time.

Also whoever programmed the site used information from Robert Penner who has an open source set of equations called "easing equations" which are to do with tweening which this site uses a lot.

http://www.robertpenner.com/

And there is no urchin so presumably not part of the game

I also believe this to be a dead end though as its a legitimate book that is available to buy on amazon and we were probably not meant to discover that anyway Very Happy

Is there an online database for copyrights? The motto "You Can't Drink Just Six" is copyrighted, would it be possible if we find the copyright owner, it would have ARG info and not Real Life info?

Oddly enough, even though it is marked with TM, i just checked, and it is not a registered trademark with the US Patent and Trade Office.

That fits within the framework of this whole thing, I think...besides, who in their right mind would make that an ACTUAL company slogan? I don't think JJ would have to worry about someone ripping it off. Why bother paying to register a trademark for a fake company for a movie?

I dunno, how often does that site update trademarks? Also for a site that would be generating such high traffic, especially since its movie related, wouldn't there be legal repercussions for claiming to have something trademarked, fake company or not?

i don't knwo how often it updates, but i imagine the USPTO website is tied directly to the database that they enter these things into, not something seperate. so, it should be accurate.
I live down the street from the USPTO building- i could swing by and ask them. Wink

Nope.

You don't have to register a trademark with the government to own it. You simply slap the (tm) symbol behind whatever it is and it's considered trademarked.

Of course, if there's a case of trademark infringement, your case is tougher to prove it it's not registered but it's far from impossible. You will have to prove that the trademarked thing was yours before the other person started using it.

It seems to me the trademark update to the Slusho site was a legal protection to make sure that someone else didnt' start going 'round and selling stuff with the Slusho design or slogan on it. Abrams (or whoever) was just protecting their intellectual property from poachers.

Copyrights and Trademarks

Very true. Owning my own company that deals with art and design I had to look into this kind of thing.

So I don't think the lack of registered trademark and/or copyright point to anything.

Happy Talk
Slusho.jp page

This is probably nothing, but I have been googling unusual phrases from the slusho site. "Happy Talk" hit a match on wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Happy_talk

Happy Talk is meaningless commentary such as that in action news.

Both the Happy Talk page, and subsequent "Al Primo" page etc have been updated recently.

Might be worth further investigation.

Error
oops...

Okay...well that wiki link's clearly aren't involved, but the connotation of the word is interesting.

Happy Talk is meaningless filler etc.....

Anagram

I've been playing with the whole anagram thing, using cheeseovenmitt

I've come up with some interesting stuff, but nothing's worked yet

You can make the words seven, movie, ice out of it. So, I'm wondering if that's not one of our clues.

So far, I've had no luck, maybe one of you all could come up with something. Good luck!

I wanted to bring something up related to the Slusho! filming in LA.

I think 2 different people mentioned in the huge thread about seeing trucks that said "Bet You Can't Eat Just Six!" on them near the film site. Does anyone know if this is true? It would be VERY strange and possibly a clue if the trucks said Eat and not Drink.

Just an observation, but on the Downloads page the strings of those kites are coming from BEHIND the children, making it look as though the strings are wrapped around their necks and they're dangling in the air as though being hung D: Scary...
