One of 3 ways, It uses a powerful sonic blast, uses its tail or, Uses its spout at high pressure. It would certainly indicate the reasons for that weird whine before it hits the building.

It's alive

Look, if I saw something huge that I didn't recognize, and I wanted to warn people of it, I would definitely say: "It's alive! and it's huge!". The two most important things to know if you want to stay alive.

I suppose you're right, I'd probably say the same thing under the circumstances. I guess at the time it just seemed a little odd to me.

Well what is the size of NYC buildings and alive? Nothing.

If you were to see something that large, you too would be shocked that it is alive.

I wasn't saying it IS a whale. I was just pointing out that the beasts roar sounds very similar to a whale song for some reason. And some recent article said that the roar was a major clue, so I thought it was worth attempting to identify it.

Here's a big bucket 'o fuel...

Many have said that it could be a whale. Someone has stated that the roar is the most important clue; I'm installing Sound Forge now to analyze it.

To be specific, a LEVIATHAN...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leviathan

Two things to note here:

- Leviathan is sea-based, and said to come along with its bretheren: Behemoth (land) and Ziz (air).

- According to the Wiki article, Leviathan is mentioned in the Book of Enoch, and "...is also sometimes said to have been of the order of Seraphim."

If you will note on my blog...
http://nighthawkdf.blogspot.com/
..."Seraph" is a keyword listed in the header of the Mind Storm Labs website, a.k.a. "Alpha Omega".

The Wiki article is an interesting read...

I'm still not 100% convinced they're unrelated...

Anyway, shameless plug for my blog now:

No worries. I'm just trying to offer arguments to the suggestion with the hopes of better figuring out what it could be. Like, how could a whale cause that huge explosion? And I don't know if everyone's seen the pictures of the rocket launchers or not, but that also leads me to believe the monster is land-based.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Maybee it is a whale that is mutated somehow to be able to walk on land? Or maybee it is just similar to one, remember whales evolved from Dog like creatures
.[/spoiler]

Doubtful on the whale theory, mainly because why would people be proclaiming that It's alive, when Whales are usually alive. I think it has to be something inanimate that has sprung to life, Possibly something that is common that becomes huge. Just a vibe I got.

Dude, the line is:

"I saw it, it's alive, it's huge!"

It's not open to interpretation. That's the line. Period.

I doubt anyone in this thread really think that a whale is attacking NY, but we think it could be a monster that is compareable to a whale.

The theory of a leviathan is not bad. In fact: many cultures have different names for a monster like this, but it all leads to a dragon that comes out of the sea.

Just like in this Picture

Well slusho IS dealing with size changes in whoever ingests the ingredient, and referring to them as whales...

(seriously praying it won't be Weight Watchers Gone Wild)

Whales are highly intelligent creatures....and while it's way easy to infer the roaring and explosions are coming from one thing that's likely a huge alive monster, that doesn't mean it is.

It could be that shit was already going on in the harbor and somehow the head of SOL got blown off, whoever firing on a massive seamonsteresque thing (which you KNOW we'd end up doing), missed and hit the SOL and sent it into the water....like they're out there and then end up on that edge of the mainland area. The tremors could be coming from whatever weapons "they" would be using trying to stop the thing before it reaches shore where people get hurt, and the thing - whale creature - off to the left but in the water or even halfass on land sends it flying in from the left, it hits the sign and changes trajectory.

The one article that was posted about 2 pages back did state that their source from Friday said whatever it is, it's not a remake or all that from Lost, and it is organic, living thing. And that slusho has all kinda clues nobody's found....which aint a newsflash to anybody here Razz

It may well BE a mutant whale sort of thing. Hasn't really been done since ORCA as far as whalers, (excluding scifi creatures and mutant sharks)....don't know but it's very specific about the whale business and somehow the ingredients in slusho is pulling off some bad science...

I gotta admit, listening to the whale sounds trumped my original impression it sounded like trex to me.
