1: We're assuming the SOL head was torn off and thrown based on google maps and nightowls vids right? It's just a guess and not absolute.

2:The size of the explosion at the beginning is pretty big by explosion standards, look at youtube vids of explosions for comparison

3: The statue of liberty was put together in sections you can find pictures of the assembly

4: This could simply mean that the SOL broke apart at its weakest points

5:The whole thing was filmed on a set not on an actual street, reference points from real life may not apply as the street used was a composite of two streets, remember this is a fictional new york

6: I'm only stating this because a lot of theories are being struck down because "Could X throw the SOL head" we have little to go on so closing our minds due to assumptions is only going to hurt our problem solving skills

7: I know just about as much as anyone here can about this which is to say very little

1. has anyone else tried word replacement with the slusho history?

1. Somewhat...I think

by word replacement i really meant taking every (#) word and removing/replacing it
i've tried using the 6th word but didn't see the relevance, but might just be me

Slusho update?
did a search...

Ok, so I *have* read all 194 pages Surprised up to this point, and I've done ARG's in the past *yay for me*... I started looking at the history on slusho again and began searching on one part at a time. I chose the "secret ingredient", and did a google search for "ocean floor pressure extreme cold", and found the following:
http://www.resa.net/nasa/ocean_methane.htm

Code:
The latest and greatest is the discovery of a very wierdo worm living on methane hydrate extrusions in the Gulf of Mexico. Methane hydrate is solid ("frozen") at the bottom of seas and oceans, even though the temperature is above what is sealevel freezing for this chemical - the pressure there allows the solid state to maintain despite a "non-freezing" temperature (but, never fear, it's cold anyway).

There is estimated to be just one humongous lot of this methane hydrate just under the seafloor along the continental shelves and since methane is just the greenhouse gas par excellence, we better hope that the oceans don't warm up enough to turn the solid hydrate to gas. Here and there the hydrate extrudes out from under the sediment and this was the locus of the recent discovery of ...
Hydrates
These gas hydrates are actually natural methane-water ices, which form under conditions of high pressure and low temperature in many areas worldwide. Gas hydrate is a crystalline solid consisting of gas molecules, usually methane, each surrounded by a cage of water molecules. It looks very much like water ice. Methane hydrate is stable in ocean floor sediments at water depths greater than 300 meters and, where it occurs, it is known to cement loose sediments in a surface layer up to several hundred meters thick.

The Worm
... discovered a new species of polychaete worm living on the exposed surface of a methane gas hydrate mound. These pink worms (now called "ice worms") are about 1-2 inches in length, and apparently sculpt the surface of the gas hydrate by the hundreds. It is not yet known to what extent the worm colonies use the hydrate mounds for protection or nutrition, but they are at present the only animals known to inhabit this unique habitat.

A team of university scientists photographed and sampled the worms living on and within mounds of methane ice on the floor of the Gulf of Mexico about 150 miles south of New Orleans. Although scientists had hypothesized that bacteria might colonize the gas hydrates, this is the first time animals have been found living in the methane mounds.

It is not known what influence these dense colonies of marine worms, called polychaetes, have on these energy-rich gas deposits.

Yes, the site is OOG as far as I can tell - thought it was an interesting article, which may give some springboard to the slusho searches.

Nothing new to add, really.

I just got back from seeing Transformers (it made me forgive Michael Bay for Armageddon!) and got to catch the trailer in the theater.

I must say it's pretty damned impressive hearing it on the big screen even when I know what's coming (to the point where I can pretty much quote every line from memory).

Interestingly enough, once the trailer ended there was complete silence in the theater. I've never heard that after a trailer before. Normally there is some excited talk of rhubarbing before the next one. Not this time. Just silence.

Kind of cool.

Could be useless

Just some stuff that may have not been mentioned, as text begets ideas.

But on the main slusho page when using the six slusho drops:

The horse appears twice, the fish appears twice (both the only creatues that have thought bubbles in the History page as well.)

The frog and the chicken(?) appear only once each.

Also - when looking up the meanings of names of the characters in the slusho story (Noriko and Gaku and Ryouta and Rob) and found that nothing on rob except 'great hero'. The other names translated into numerous things including good one, son of ceremony/law/justice, and something about the last name meaning blessed in rice fields or something.

I found too many sites that translated the names into too many different interpretations. If someone could find a more reliable sure source, that may help.

I stumbled across that earlier today. Something you captured / found on the sea floor might need a methane environment to survive, which would explain the massive explosion.

But I just can't see NY being taken by a giant flatworm.

I will double post when leaving trails that go in different
directions that a previous idea/thoery/finding.

When I translated rob into hebrew (sorry it was next to the japanese one, lol):

My Hebrew Name
English Name Hebrew Name
Click on a name below Gender
1 azriel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azriel
2 barak http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barak
3 ezra http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ezra
4 hillel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillel
5 meir http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meir

http://www.my-hebrew-name.com/index.html

When I wiki'd Azriel I found this:

Azriel is the angel of light as referred to by the Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Wiccan, and pagan religions.

I think it's merely coincidence though, no sarcsm -

I was thinking more along the lines of methane ice being found by Noriko's son (the research team), and then putting it in the slusho Laughing

Slusho Animal Pop-Up Guide (so we know what's popping up when)

Moved to the Slusho Thread.

3rd Picture?!

Out of curiosity, when did the third pic go up on 1-18-08.com?

CLUES MUST BE ON SLUSHO

I think we're missing the fact that something is waiting to be discovered in the text of the Slusho site... there's got to be. Maybe the cups are a key to finding a hidden message. Like every 4th, 11th, 13th and 14th word, then starting over at 17. But starting on the 6th word.

Or maybe every 6th word but use only the 4th, 11th, 13th and 14th.

What's the secret ingredient from the bottom of the ocean?

I'm new to ARG's and have been lurking on this forum for the last 4 days (sort of a requirement to read this entire freaking thread), but I thought I'd share a slightly skewed perspective.

Let me preface this by saying I could be completely wrong in all of this, but this is just sort of what I've come across. No websites, just information related to stuff found on the two "official" sites that everyone is digging through (with one minor bit from the trailer that's been discussed before).

After reading through the history on the slusho.jp site, I decided that I'd plug in a few words from the history site into google and see what popped up on my screen.

Everyone already did the obvious "First Name" Yoshida checks, but I did a quick check on just plugging in the first names into google.

Noriko didn't bring up anything significant, neither did Ryouta, but when I plugged in Ganu ... I got a whole load of links directed towards a Welsh hymn singing festival. I haven't dug deeper into that just yet ... but I have a long night shift ahead of me, so maybe I'll come across something.

A brief moment of thinking "Whales = Wales?" came and went. The Welsh flag, incidentally, is of a red dragon that doesn't appear to have any solid history of why it's there.

A quick look up of the ABZ in the license plate in regards to airports (tenuous link at best on this one, but I was curious) brings up the airport being located in New South Wales, Australia. Also probably a dead end, but the national motto gets me thinking about that 3rd picture:

"Newly Risen, How Brightly You Shine".

Once again, I acknowledge that I haven't come across any sites that would pop up and say "Hey look at me! I'm part of the game!", so take all of this with a grain of salt. If it's not part of the game at all, at least this can be eliminated.
