I'll toss my abilities into the ring.

Anyone need a madman with all kinds of weird skills?

Web Design using pretty much everything but raw HTML
Flash
Sound Editing
Image manipulation and some basic image creation skills
Head full of useless information that could be used to develope plots, characters, puzzles, etc
Improv skills for online interactions with players.

What can I add?

I have no computer skills whatsoever so I may be a good person to test things out on.

I can respond to emails within character.

I have a pretty good sense of plot and characters and what people are likely to do in a given situation. And a sense of the crediblity gap. (For example, in the chat paranoia was mentioned as a good reason people hide information. Other reasons off the top of my head: illicit love affairs, white collar crime, subversive political activity, smuggling, arms sales.)

People in #acheron have to listen to me develop soap opera plots about the characters when things get quiet. You would be surprised at the stuff the characters do behind closed doors when no one is looking.

I can do research but never again anything relating to the Mayans or any apocalypse, which may rule me out completely for a future ARG.

I have an extensive knowledge of poetry, literature, history and art.

Any question relating to law you can ask, I can find the answer for you.

I have translated a dictionary from French to English and edited a book on corporate transactions, so you could try out my writing skills.

I am pretty equal to rose! and more than willing to work.

Very dedicated and a stay at home mom so I tend to have time and I am bored. Also good at the basic secretarial stuff. Willing to do anything though!

Mel

I really love writing, so plot development/writing is my big deal.
I can do small side tasks too, but remember, I'm a college student.

- PHP, HTML, CSS, XML - pretty good, except XML (I dont know it in details, but are there any?!)
EDIT: Forgot - Basic SQL
- Photoshop
- Sound Forge (Sound editing), basic
- Windows
- A little Linux
- Danish language (Danish citizen, timezone EST=GMT+1), means I am goddamn bad at english, so if you want someone recorded, who is quite bad at english, ask me Very Happy
- Maybe, I can put up some postbox addresses in Denmark
- Writing (Maybe, I will need someone to proof me)
- A few puzzle ideas

More will be added, when they come into my mind.
I really like the idea of an international ARG.

My 0.108 cents

I can help out with London - or any UK based activities (mailouts, photos etc). Would be interested in working out ways to maximise involvement of non-US members - it's hard to get involved with #chat when it's 3am on a 'school night'...

- Solid HTML, CSS, learning XML & XSLT
- Basic Photoshop
- Basic SQL
- Hobby-level Flash / Director & some Lingo
- Great Googling skills / character research
- Project management - great at making lists
- Past experience of copywriting / content editing / playwriting - happy to help with character work and proof-reading
- General sneakiness (I love organising surprises)

(may not always be available for live action or time-critical updating - too many commitments outside work and a pathetic internet connection at home)

I second that motion as another UK based individual.

- Good Maths & Science.
- Passable C,VB,Fortran,SQL general DB work.
- A little HTML and php.
- Good lateral thinker.
- Just plain useless at proof reading.

Someone go poke Dylan... and I haven't seen William recently, but he's over in the UK somewhere.

Good start so far

All the posts in here are great for a beginning point of recruitment. What I would like to also ask for is can people post how much time, blood, sweat, and tears they would be able to devot to a project. I know this depends on what else is going on in your life but a basic list of how many hours a week you could truly give to a project would help fellow PMs determine how big of a workforce is available for any future projects.

BTW, Yes.. I am currently recruiting for my next project. If you're remotely interested please PM me or talk to me in #unfiction.

+ Has already made trails, has experience with trails.
+ Therefore, good at designing puzzles.
+ Extensive HTML, XHTML knowledge.
+ Basic/Intermediate Javascript, CSS knowledge.
+ Very advanced image creation and manipulation knowledge - basically, I'm one of the best photoshoppers you'll come accross in here.
+ Creativity.
+ Originality.
+ Lots of experience in prose-writing.
+ Lots of experience in story creation.
+ Passionate about it.
+ Attention to detail is bordering on excessive.
+ Moderate experience in sound editing (Remixed the Whipsmartice Theme in Perplex City)
+ Likes a challenge.
+ HUGE experience in Drama - this helps in knowing how to relate to and manipulate the emotions of an audience.
+ Extensive knowledge in psychology and people-orientated subjects.
+ I'm friendly. I'm not just a machine with skills programmed into me so that I create things like a manufacturing line. I'm actually able to joke, and be a nice, smiling guy to work with, whilst I contribute greatly to an ARG. I'm a human who loves this stuff, not just a conveyor belt from the ARG-o-matic.

Email me at alexjsmith /at/ gmail.com

WARNING. I live in the UK. For example, 8pm EST is one in the morning over here. If you plan to have meetings in mid to late evening, do not contact me.

But watch out. I'll fuss until the storyline is entirely plausable and watertight.

[PROS]
- Intermediate knowledge of HTML/Javascript
- An eye for minimalist design (if I say so myself)
- Grundlegende kenntnis des Deutscher spreche (but don't rely on it too much)
- 'Power User' knowledge of Windows, intermediate knowledge of Linux
- Experience with creative writing (short stories, screenplays - only amateur stuff)
- Experience in dealing with online interaction in-character
- Some bizarre trivia in some pretty odd areas
- A deeply surreal sense of humour.

[CONS]
- As a solely-voice actor, I'm not much.
- My only non-web-based programming experience is Pascal.
- Still pretty inexperienced at this sort of thing.

---------------

I could probably rustle up a couple of other people, with skills in things like Photoshop, PHP, voice acting... (if you ever need a character with a British accent that is). I'd be able to dedicate quite a few hours a week on this, I spend far too many evenings looking for an aim... I don't know about the others, I'd have to ask around.

Don't know if anyone actually -looks- here for help with projects... but hey, can't hurt to throw my hat in here.

- Windows-based
- Good with HTML, CSS, some PHP/MySQL, and a little Java/JavaScript
- Decent Photoshop skills
- Writing/Fiction ideas/skills, or at least I flatter myself to think so. Razz
- 17 years old and "a character". Well, okay, I'm friends with a lot of "characters" but keep them in line okay. So... good organization?
- Based in Midwest USA
- Enjoys stage-acting, and I wouldn't mind voice-acting.

Stuff you might not care about
- I've got some math skills, too
- I have a basic grasp of Spanish (have taken five years)
- I really just love ARG's. Although I don't have the time to play all the ones I'd like to, being involved from the PM side would be... memorable, and a lot of fun.

I'd like...
- Puzzle creation
- Website creation
- Plot/Character development
... pretty much anything you can think of. Two and a half years ago I tried to do it all on my own (Codename: Constellation, anyone... ? *hangs head in shame*) and it didn't go well. I like to at least pretend that I'm a much more experienced and web-savy person now. Or at least I'm older.

The only negative thing I can think of is that I like to take on a lot of projects (and I'm still in school and stuff)... I doubt I could lead an ARG, but I would wholeheartedly enjoy contributing and helping as much as anyone would want me to. Smile Oh, and I'm poor too. All I can give is time.

Oh, and I know (plenty) QBasic too. *salutes WhiteKnight*
