How long were those others up? I'm wondering how often we're going to need to check on changes.

(I guess I could subscribe to the page....)

Maybe 10-15 minutes each. I was constantly refreshing after driz posted the first change (which had broken links to the flash and banner image).

What do the flash files have in common?

Hi all! What do the flash files have in common?
That is the question i asked myself. So googleing, i went and found....
http://www.waterwalk.com
http://www.digitalis.com.au or http://www.digitalisdesign.co.uk or http://www.digitalis.nu and
http://www.cinnabar.com
are all companies that do web designing.

Could it be CTW is running the credits? Introducing us to some of the creative designers involved in CTW?

Just a thought.

Re: What the symbol is

MaggieMae wrote:
If I am not mistaken, it is a symbol from the Sanskrit alphabet. If you look at this page: http://www.americansanskrit.com/athome/online01/alphabet.html and look down on the line of cerebral consonants, it is the one in the middle, called da (with a dot under the d). I don't know what the significance of this would be, but I think that is the symbol we are dealing with.

I agree that the graphic posted at Yahoo definitely looks like "da" (with a dot under the d). I don't know much about sanskrit, but I did read enough about it for it to confuse me...lol.

The one thing I did note is that "da" is a root word meaning "to give".
Whether or not the letter "da" and the root word "da" are one in the same I don't know, but its meaning seems to fit. And although our letters of the alphabet don't have a "meaning" per se, I'm not sure it works the same in Sanskrit. (But I'm not sure it doesn't either...lol)

My husband speaks and reads some Sanskrit and he confirms that it is the symbol for "Da" on the hands. He is not however, aware of any meaning the symbol has on its own.

Doesn't mean it doesn't have one, just that it's been awhile since he's picked up anything written in the language. Smile

Possible meaning/symbolism

Here is part of a post I did earlier on another message board:

I thought I would start a thread to toss around some ideas on what we are supposed to make of and/or do with this symbol and all the related info that comes with it.

Since we are in agreement as to what the symbol is, let's start by discussing what it stands for. It is, of course, a letter in the Sanskrit language. It is also, according to the Katapayadhi Number Code, associated with the chakra Manipura (also called the Manipuraka). This chakra is associated with the element of fire and the aspect of will power, especially as it relates to the combining of will with the physical to create changes in yourself and the world around you. It is noted that *consciousness* and *intelligence* are necessary for these changes, meaning that this is not at all an unconscious act. That you have to work at making the changes... that this takes effort and you have to truly want them.

Here are other aspects of the chakra. I am listing them just so they are out there and we can see if anyone sees something I may be missing:

Chakra Three
Symbols and Correspondences

Sanskrit name: Manipura
Meaning: Lustrous Gem
Location: Navel to Sternum; Solar Plexus
Element: Fire
Outer Form: Plasma
Function: Will, power, energy
Inner State: Laughter, joy, energy, vitality, sense of purpose, effectiveness
Glands: Pancreas, adrenals
Other Body Parts: Digestive system, muscles
Malfunction: Ulcers, diabetes, hypoglycemia
Color: Yellow
Seed Sound: Ram
Vowel Sound: Ah as in father
Petals: Ten
Tarot Suit: Wands
Sephiroth: Hod, Netzach
Planets: Mars; also the Sun
Metal: Iron
Foods: Starches
Corresponding Verb: I can
Herbs for Incense: Carnation, cinnamon, marigold
Gemstones: Amber, Topaz
Animals: Ram, lion
Sense: Sight
Archetype: Magician, warrior
Guna: Rajas
Symbolisms: Ten petals of blue, downward triangle, with Hindu solar crosses (svastikas). At the base is a running ram.
Deities:
Hindu: Agni, Surya, Rudra, Lakini
Other: Brigit, Athene, Helios, Apollo, Amaterasu, Belenos, Apis, Ra
Archangel: Michael
Chief Operating Force: Combustion

This chakra is where consciousness combines with energy to become Will and this Will is the conscious direction of our life energy toward a manifest goal. If we do not see ourselves as victims, then our Will can shape the world around us. This sounds so much like The Wish, don't you think?

A long post, but I am hoping someone will see something I have missed. Smile Perhaps this will lead us to a page inside one of the websites? Perhaps this has nothing to do with anything? Perhap the PM is just playing with our minds (insert sinister laughter here)? Anyone have any ideas?

Not trying to be a booby...but I had no idea what a "chakra" was, so I thought I would post it for others who aren't clear on it. I only hope it's the correct definition....feel free to correct me if it's wrong.

~cem

"Our body absorbs colour energy through the vibration each colour gives off. All organs, body systems, and functions are connected to main energy centres called "Chakras". Every person has seven chakras and each of these energy centres is governed by one of the seven color energies."

What is a chakra

Hi cem!

Sorry, I forgot that not everyone would know what the heck I was talking about. It is easy to forget when you are in the middle of a discussion. Anyhow, I would also add the following to the definition of what a chakra is:

At the inner core of each of us spin seven wheel-like energy centers called chakras. Swirling intersections of vital life forces, each chakra reflects an aspect of consciousness essential to our lives. Together the seven chakras form a system for modeling that counsciousness that enables us to better see ourselves -- in mind, body, behavior, and culture. This sytem is a valuble tool for personal growth.

Chakras are centers of activity for the reception, assimilation and transmission of life energies. As all our action and understanding arise from and return to points within ourselves, our chakras, as core centers, form the coordinating network of our complicated mind/body system.

Another explaination is this:

The Chakra System is an ancient metaphysical system that diagrams the interrelationship between various aspects of our multidimentional universe. As part of this universe, we too are multidimentional. We have bodies, emotions, thoughts, ideas, actions. We live in a world with communities and governments, technology and history, we ponder the mysteries of earth and sky, spirit and matter, here and hereafter. We are as complex as the world around us.

Hope this helps.

MaggieMae
