I attempted a search on something that caught my ear in the trailer, I didnt come up with anything but I'm sure its been heard already, but I figured what the hek?

Anyways, in the trailer at 1:27 you hear a few people asking something like "Have you seen Genesis?!" or something of the sort.

Ideas?

The pic you provided, just for the record, the main girl is on the roof for the roof scene. She and the slusho shirt guy are ahead of camera guy as they join the one talking about the shaking and tremors. After the stuff starts flying, and they all make for the door, the slusho shirt guy and main chick are ahead of camera guy and for a second, slusho guy runs out of the scene to the left as main chick makes it to the doorway. Then slusho guy re-enters the shot and back to the doorway, ahead of camera guy. The slusho shirt guy isn't seen again unless the one very blurred sidelong view is him but too hard to see as the whole shot is blurry.

Cameraguy and Rob have bumped into each other on the stairs it looks like, and then camera guy is following Rob out the front door, along with the pink shirt guy who runs off to the right. Rob joins main chick and it's likely the slusho shirt guy is the one she's asking about - IF that is her voice. Just the logical flow here infers it's her but it's off camera so not positive.

And I know this from endless slo-mo frame by frame focusing to see who all is on the roof. I got screencaps if they're ever needed.


ALSO - in the AICN article posted earlier today where Moriarty provides, at the end, a basic plot of this film (cleanup crew finds cameras and checks it out to see what happened, etc)....it occured to me before and occurs to me more solidly now that it's not just the videocamera...the shots on the 1-18 site may not even be stills from the video from camera guy, they may well be from someone's cam phone or digicamera and is part of a collection of cameras that are found and checked out.

So the 1-18 could be from another point of view entirely. If the first photo contains the main chick, then it wouldn't appear these shots are her camera (and is unlikely a self portrait of fear ;-p) There are at least 2 confirmed sources for cameras aside from camera guy, shown in the trailer. The guy who gets Rob when he comes in, and a brief shot of a girl looking into the viewer behind the chick who tells Rob to have fun in Japan. However, it oculd just be a cellphone panel and who knows if it's a camera - I would imagine but she doesn't actually snap a pic.

If the cleanup crew has found more than one camera, the trailer goes with videocamera and the site would likely go with still camera...and someone else entirely.

It also occurs to me that maybe there is a trail off 1-18 to a character blog about stuff in advance so we follow their story up to 1-18. I haven't a clue how to smoke it out if there is one, but for the record, that would make for an awesome immersive experience - to get one or more of the character blogs online and get to know them, interact, and then see their experience of 1-18 play out on the big screen later - even if any of them are killed off in the flick. That would make people just jarred out the ass, cause they got to know these characters and were part of how they died, morbid as it is, but it'd be like people we know now....

And if it's not done on this, oh well, but that would be a cool one I think.

I think I really was more interested in showing the two girls together and that it was possible for the picture to be taken. But agreed on several of your points... I am SO addicted to this crack! LOL!

I don't think AICN's description of how the movie starts is to be taken literally; I think it was merely an example to explain a point.

Granted, it makes sense, but then a lot of things do at this point.

A page back someone posted enlarged photos of the clock shown in the trailer. Just a note, I've read in a few places (sorry, can't remember where), that the standard time used in most movies/television is 10:10. Obviously, if a scene with a clock in it is being shot (in any movie, really), then the director would use a working clock, but in a quick shot like this one, where the clock is insignificant, it would be believable that the director just ignored time discrepenicies, probably thinking people wouldn't take notice.
