Woot! Just checked NIR's blog, and she's eddited the "Time to move on" post, adding in italicized letters.

Edit: *Naughty Language* I hope that by "Soon" she meens Sunday, cuz I'm gonna be away from my computer all day today. Curse the sunshine and the things it makes me do.

Good thinking but one problem: She says Frank and Sharon other times in the message other than the time she used *rank & *haron

I think the PM reads our forums, cuz NIR has edited her blog so ALL (F) rank and (S) harons Have been turned to *rank and *harons... I thought these forums were supposed to be OOC and safe from PM readings....

Hey guys,

I have been busy with work so I don't want to go through with the job at armc inc because I'm afraid I wont have the time. Plus I am involved with another arg already... but I will be checking in to see if I can help out.

About the PM reading uf.. it is very common for them to read the forum. That's a big part of what makes it fun, seeing how everyone analyzes your game. They can read it, but they are not allowed to acknowledge any of it. They can't use your words here against you, or have any characters talk about uf.

Also I know it's been mentioned but grandcentral.com is a good way to go for getting free phone numbers (any area code) to redirect to you cell or home phone. They let you have multiple numbers all directing to your number. Then you can delete the number if you have problems with a lot of unwanted calls, and assume different identities for resume calls.

Ohh, that makes sense then. Guess it was just my noobiness talking.

So, what do you think the next step NIR mentioned is gonna be? Lettters? Packages? Chocolate? Letterbombs?

chocolate letterbombs....

ok, we'd die, but is that such a horrible way to go?

i'm thinking letters.... unless this thing has a little sugar daddy (sponsor), i cant see spending a 100 dollars in postage for packages to 20 people, and from what i see from the whois, this PM is flying solo, or with a small team. but i've been wrong before..... lol

Ummm better ways to die.....

Drowning in Jelly Beans?

Beaten to death by babes wielding feather pillows?

Maybe..... I dunno, chocolate letterbombs are VERY good way to go.

Job Update

Just an FYI - I got a second call from Baxter today... He actually called one of my references. Haha... My buddy did well enough, I guess... Now they want to run a background check on me... Hope they don't expect any real information... If so, we're gonna need someone else to get the job...

Oh, and, ummm.... Did anyone else get their references in order?? I hope it won't be just me... Rolling Eyes

Mr Matthews,

HI glad to hear you are interested in the position. We are always hiring and are excited at the prospect of new team members. The job is technically a full time salary, however you work at your convenience. That said, it should entail about 7-8 hours a day. The pay will be determined by the branch you are located in, which is determined after several interviews. We need a standard business resume and two previous employers or references with reachable numbers in order to be considered for the positions.

Hope everything works out, get back to me with your resume.

HI?

I thought it was just an error in some form letter that Baxter uses... ...but I have two different e-mails from Baxter that are both different than the one you posted and they both start with "HI"... That's odd... It just stands out... Anyone else get an e-mail from Baxter? Does it start with "HI" also? Maybe he's just weird...

A Little Help Would Be Nice..

So... Is it normal for a PM to want a real Full Name, Address, DOB, and Birth place? It's for a "Background Check"... Embarassed
I got a call after my reference did a bang up job on the call with J.Baxter requesting additional information... I was in a bad cell spot and asked for an e-mail.... This is what I got...

Quote:

Justin,

HI, like I said on the phone, I need to confirm some information for you.

Your full name please?
Adress?
Date of Birth?
Location of Birth?

That should be enough, and we can take care of the rest.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Chief Employment Consultant

I replied with the same fake name I've been using along with some other stuff and I got this in response...

Quote:

Justin,

HI sorry there seems to be a problem with your information, as you are not registered in the state for a background check. Do you have a different official name? Sorry for the inconvenience, I look forward to hearing from you.

Jerry Baxter
Chief Employment Consultant

Kind of an odd request... I think this is as far as I'm willing to go... I'll hang out and help when I can, but, my fake stuff is as good as he's gonna get... Thanks M0M! Haha...

i did a little snooping...
on our pm

yes, yes i know.. all thats supposed to be behind the curtain... but it makes me nervous when someone is INSISTING on real names, REAL DATES OF BIRTHS (wtf?) and location of births (wtfx2!)

Without revealing all that I found in about 20 minutes (and there was enough, unbelieveably)... I know this person is in the insurance industry and has the capability of looking people up... ie real background checks, real credit histories, and all that. and he doesnt have to have a SS# to do that.... It makes me all very nervous (even more so) about leaving the mailing address that i did on NIRs blog.

I would like our dear PM (and we know he reads this forum thread) to remove the private information that has been posted from myself and the rest of the trusting ARG players as an act of good faith that nothing will be used without permission for something thats out of the game. He already has what he needs if he's going to be mailing out anything for the game.
Shifty Eyes
btw, nice pic.

ncfriend, feeling quite motherly today.

ps.. oh, and in case you think i'm being too overly cautious on REAL background checks etc... yes, that was me that got caught doing 97 in a 65 on I-485 in blue mini-van. MUHAHAHHAHAHAH. Twisted Evil
but what part of Alternate Reality dont you understand????

**passing out milk and brownies now*** Brownie
