Ah, sorry! I hate causing confusion!
Just for the record, I'm 'gsasidontknow.' (It's actually supposed to read GSAs I Dont Know [GSA being a forum I belong to], but AIM removes the spaces.) Sorry for the confusion! (Also, McGritts... I emailed you back, but I'm OOG. I have lots of AIM contacts, so my AIM fight score is always pretty good. )
I would've cleared this up sooner, but I've been away all day.
So... That's one thread we can tie up.
---
I'm gonna have fun poking around Freewebs for an IG site.

Hey guys,
I found the site you're looking for:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.freewebs.com/hiddenpuzzle/
It says to look to the sky, so try sky.htm
The binary decodes to:
the blue moon was high in the sky
the zenith of the clock
I emailed him with my guess of 12am.

Blue Moons between 2004 and 2010
The following data is based on the Calendar and Farmers' Almanac definitions.
August 2005 — Third full moon in a season of four full moons
June 2007 — has a second full moon falling on the 30th
May 2008 — Third full moon in a season of four full moons
November 2010 — Third full moon in a season of four full moons

Wow, I was definitely on the right track trying to find our the URL after freewebs.com/ but the "beobservant" really steered me off track!

Nice find/solve!
A little search on Zeniths seems to indicate that your guess is correct.

Yeah the free web clue in the few emails he sent kinda gave it away. I bet that quote on his page was a hint at freewebs too. This sounds dumb but the correct page was the last thing I tried... obviously, but I tried every other name/phrases they have given before that one. Just got lucky

I emailed him as well - but took a different route. According to the information, the Blue Moon occured June 30th at 13:49 GMT. They're in Indiana, so (if I calculated correctly) that would have been 8:49EST.
That's what I sent...

Great job!
The only thing that bothers me is... if he wanted to make sure we were human, and not a robot, why would he put the puzzle in binary?
Robots would be able to read binary, wouldn't they?

I think the answer is just 12. If we're using the definition given for zenith on Wiki, it doesn't matter whether it's 12am or 12pm, both hands will be pointing up even while gravity is pulling down. Failing that, I'd say high noon, where the sun is at it's highest and there are no shadows.
