No way is this in game related. Looks more like a fansite space to have a spot for his/her own blog on the subject and haven't gotten it set up yet.

I believe you're referring to myspace.com/paperstreetevents

Something odd I just noticed:

The marketing firm myspace that the url http://www.youcantdrinkjustsix.com redirects to has removed some text.

It used to read:

Quote:
PaperStreet throws events, creates brain melting design and makes the world a brighter place through awesome MacGyver-Style alternative marketing ideas.
What can I say? We're shitting diamonds.

You can see our website displaying our full range of mutant abilities here: BIG THINGS

You can see our creative work here that will literally reorganize the molecules in your body into something more brilliant and spectacular then you've ever dreamt about: DESTROY ALL BRANDS

You can see some clients smart enough to recognize genius when they see it here: MOST BALLER SHIT EVER

You can find out where we're partying in our hometown every week right here: LET'S PARTY LIKE IT'S 1699

You can have us snuggle up in your e-mail box with sweet little special event love notes right here: HOW CAN I BE DOWN?

Enjoy yourself. It's later than you think
PaperStreet

But the second part about "mutant abilites" is gone now. Giving away a little too much info perhaps?

 First post, go easy.

So i read every page, and my eyes are bleeding now, but when I went to watch the trailer at apple.com, I clicked the windows tab on the quick time player, then went to the Show Content Guide and the 2nd row on the left caught my eye. It's the Smashing Pumpkins official 6th album release. The name of the album and the artwork is what caught my attention the most. It just came out, and one of the tracks was used in the Transformers Movie... anyway. I think i'll stick to reading

Okay so I broke down and became a registered member to edit my posts.. What I mean to say is that we are talking about two separate pages..

http://www.youcantdrinkjustsix.com redirects to http://www.myspace.com/paperstreetevents which has been a myspace member for quite some time and likely not related, just drawing mype..

http://www.myspace.com/wellmissyourob has a signup date of 7/12/07.. Yes this is after the trailer release but may be a possible lead??

This is something I feel needs pointed out.

The trailer is shown before Transformers, right? The first song on the Transformers soundtrack is "What I've Done" by Linkin Park. It is from their album, "Minutes to Midnight". The second song on the Transformers soundtrack is "Doomsday Clock" by Smashing Pumpkins, on "Zeitgeist". The cover art for "Zeitgeist" features the statue of liberty. Coincidence?

I think these are references to the Doomsday Clock:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doomsday_Clock

If you don't feel like reading, basically the Doomsday Clock predicts how close the human race is to complete destruction by how much "time" is left until "midnight" when the world will be destroyed. This is by nuclear attack, but I believe it's used in a more general, total destruction sense here. The photos on the official site seem to confirm this because the timestamp on the earliest one is for 12:01 am, just before everything goes wrong.

I don't think they put it before Transformers just because it's a popular movie. Wink

funny. I don't think this is part of an ARG, because no Band would give their LP a special name, just because someone want to put in an ARG.

Also Funny: "Zeitgeist" is german and means "Spirit of Time". The Transformers soundtracks seems to have a faible on clocks and time.

archer (first post on issue): "hmm this Moriarty said he broke it but on other certain websites they were talking about the project way before him."

archer: "Woah your horses Rhialto r u honestly telling me you cant find any
websites even mentioning the title of the film Cloverfield or JJ having
anything to do with it before June 21 2007??"

rhialto: "No. Help me out if you can. It should be easy."

archer: "Ok type this trekmovie.com/category/1-18-08cloverfield into google then go down to the 13th February and the previous article and see how many times cloverfield is mentioned"

Now, yall see how he actually DID back up what he said? Its not exactly brain surgery, this. So you see, theres no reason for any "archer sucks" or anything to that effect from anyone, and if people keep being arseholes in this thread Im pretty sure mayhem will start raining down upon yall, NY-styled. And no one is gonna come out of that feeling very good about themselves, thats for sure.

This is probably completely irrelevant but I discovered it whilst looking at trajectory paths of the statue of liberty head whilst bored at work, Oh and its fun messing around with google maps.

In the trailer we can see a sign for a textile company, now looking from 401 broadway in the direction of the SOL there is a textile company at 391 Broadway called Amex Fabrics.

Just a pointless bit of trivia as I'm sure its unrelated

No, he's simply backing up his point of there being talk about cloverfield before "AICN broke the news".

The "you suck" portion comes in from him not backing up his claims about finding OTHER cloverfield websites that are related to this "game" and continuously refused to do so when prodded repeatedly.

Also ... NY appears to be busy prepping for some giant monster this winter and I doubt they'll be raining down much of anything while they're trying to figure out exactly WHAT is going to be attacking them....

"On June 21st, before the first screening of TRANSFORMERS with the

trailer attached, before anyone outside of Paramount had mentioned

word one about the film anywhere, we broke the entire story here on the

site." This was quoted from the AICN site as has clearly been shown by

myself and others quite a few sites had and were talking about

Cloverfield before June 21st thats what i was trying to prove .Anyway

Rhialto its all part of a game and i wonder how many more people had

checked up on the cloverfield project before June 21st unfortunately

nothing seems to have been unearthed to progress this thread.

Onto a more serious point fxdude has been sacked from working on it

for privately showing those pics and someone posting them. Exclamation Exclamation

thinking about the slusho story and about the thing thats added to the drink and grows people...then thinking about the people who said they saw the production vans that had you cant eat just six (or something to that effect) maybe whatever that stuff is it can be addictive and so eating lots transforms you completely...

The other item was that story someone posted about the algi or the organic plants living in the sea..the article mentioned that it said that they where alive and huge..so thinking along those lines maybe this is what the monster is...alot like the smoke in lost its a huge alive mass of this algi or plant...and what we see in this trailer isnt just smoke but thats the monster and its ripped off the sol head and spat it out..that would explain it coming from that angle directly from the smoke.

I'd like to remind everyone that we are here to solve the potential and probable puzzles of an Alternate Reality Game based on the movie Cloverfield, not complain about the news coverage other sites have done on this game.

We're here to play a fun puzzle game folks. I used to be a teacher, so it takes tremendous effort to get me annoyed, but this thread is finally starting to annoy me.

I've tried, incidentally, converting the music notes to numbers to see where it got me. It's got a lot of numbers, but I can't see any significance to them.

Also, I've done my own search of myspace, and think that it is going to get crowded with even more gamejackers soon. I also searched linkedin, since that is a site I use much more. Has anyone tried Orkut or Facebook?

I checked out the Sephora website, but didn't see anything there that was suspicious.

Finally, grasping at straws here, has anyone done a search of oceanography sites to see if anything got slipped in there?

Sweet merciful crap, I hate MySpace. Does *every* page have music on it, for crying out loud? BAD music at that...?

First off, MSTRKRFT (pronounced "mastercraft") is the shit.. AND it was the MSTRKRFT remix of Wolfmother's "Woman" playing at the party in the trailer for a couple seconds.. Wolfmother referenced "fields of clover" in their song "Joker and the Thief"..

Nighthawk wrote:
The "friends" section is simply people that asked to be friends. Those are reeal people.

I was added earlier today and I'm not in the movie..

Nighthawk wrote:
OK, let's assume that the MySpace thing is hypothetically real. So we got two things on it:

1) The badly pixellated Kanji, which looks like it's grabbed from somewhere, be it a website or the trailer.

This is what one of my friends e-mailed me about the Kanji:

"It doesn't mean much by it's self, basically it's a character that means to be affiliated with, 'companion', or to take up a common cause with.

what's the context?

hope i could be of some help. "

Not much here, but maybe pulled from another site??

Nighthawk wrote:
2) The background: the dotted image of Japan, with certain dots highlited.

Well, you want it to be real... Go ahead and decipher the image of Japan. Smile

Looking at the HTML source reveals the background image source:

http://www.ywca.or.jp/english/japan.gif

So it's a map of YWCA locations in Japan.. Pretty strange.. Never thought the YWCA would be involved in a monster attack..
Nighthawk wrote:
In any event, not dismissing any potential lead, I sent my RSVP. I also asked him about the date, 'cause I could have sworn the party was on the 17th...

Let me know of any response!!

THE STRANGEST THING about the page is that some text was removed between yesterday and today.. A line in rather large print, something to the extent of

"Morro, you had better be there!"

was missing today..

EDIT: EVEN STRANGER!! As I am typing this, the Kanji has changed.. There is now a sentence or phrase in its place:

Maybe this is legit after all??

Do we already know that the Japanese translates to 'We are the Parasites'?

Talk to me about the numbers in the music, what do you have?
