I can see this is OOG(if there is no game, everyone is still hunting for what this mystery attacker is, so please stop replying with how OOG things are until someone actually TELLS US THERE EVEN IS ONE), but why in the name of 'that whom will remain nameless (for some posters' SPECIAL needs) would this:

www.Happy6.com

Be only sponsored by japanese links? Do these sites change links based on the most things searched through them or something? Weird if they dont.

Yeah, those types of sites (placeholders) do pretty much exactly what you describe. It's sick and twisted, designed to get internet "n00bs" to click them to generate ad revenue.

We have fifteen threads dedicated to things related to a trailer, and nobody has discovered anything substantial.

It's looking pretty hopeless.

I'd like to remind everyone that we are here to solve the potential and probable puzzles of an Alternate Reality Game based on the movie Cloverfield, not complain about the news coverage other sites have done on this game.

We're here to play a fun puzzle game folks. I used to be a teacher, so it takes tremendous effort to get me annoyed, but this thread is finally starting to annoy me.

I've tried, incidentally, converting the music notes to numbers to see where it got me. It's got a lot of numbers, but I can't see any significance to them.

Also, I've done my own search of myspace, and think that it is going to get crowded with even more gamejackers soon. I also searched linkedin, since that is a site I use much more. Has anyone tried Orkut or Facebook?

I checked out the Sephora website, but didn't see anything there that was suspicious.

Finally, grasping at straws here, has anyone done a search of oceanography sites to see if anything got slipped in there?

Talk to me about the numbers in the music, what do you have?

E,C,E,G,G,A,G,A,F

5 3 5 7 7 1 7 1 6

or

1 -2 1 3 3 4 3 4 2

or

3 1 3 5 5 6 5 6 4

I stopped there - I didn't bother to do intervals (assuming E was 1)...

EDIT: Isn't it odd that the Perplex City people are looking for a guy named "Satoshi" as well?

You simply put the word Japan in the title and in this case this weirdo used frames to create a page within a page so it wouldn't show the title at the top of the browser, but in the source Japan is in the title of that frame.

After 212 pages, nobody has figured anything out except that Slusho.jp is linked to 1-18-08.com

We need to find something more obvious...I didn't think that the start of an ARG would be this hard.

I don't believe it's an ARG. It has the possiblity to become one, but as it is, we're just looking too deeply into things that aren't even clues.

Sadly, I am beginning to agree. I just wish that JJ would come out and say whether or not this is an ARG, so we can get on with our daily lives if it is not...people are beginning to think I am crazy

well, I saw this on someone's livejournal(http://1-18-08.livejournal.com/2763.html), and thought about it...
Quote:

The Slusho! story may have nothing at all to do with the plot but...very many stories and myths deal with an elixir of life/ secret ingredient from the bottom of the ocean. So although it may not be in the plot, the idea of a secret deep ocean ingredient is nothing new. Also, has anyone figured out what the hell a horse is doing dreaming of an oven mitt or a fish dreaming about cheese?(from Slusho! website for those of you who don't know) Oh yah, one last thing...in Hawaii they are really making energy drinks from deep sea water and the Japanese are scarfing them up according to this website:http://www.aquatechnology.net/deepseawater.html...just an interesting sidenote.

Ok, let's say the ingredient is deep sea water, or DSW - that would make sense, as the slusho site is primarily underwater, the fish, etc... can lead a horse (donkey) to water, can't make him drink, the thought someone said earlier that the 12:01 pic with Rob drinking doesn't look like alcohol or anything, but it is clear like water?

..I searched and didn't find any text.

I saw this days ago and figured -- "eh, someone has to have seen it and posted it."

This was back when I was still not registered but reading page 30 or 40 maybe. (GEEZ! It's like crack!)

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
This link leads to a site where a crew member is discussing the shoot and location - Could be considered a spoiler I guess.

http://tinyurl.com/23mfyf

Anyway - I thought it was interesting that the guy mentions a giant foot as I have been steering my thinking more and more to some sort of statue coming to life. I saw on another site (forgive me for not having the link) that someone mentioned the episode of Lost where they find a giant statue's foot.

**edit - I did find the picture**

OK - enough blabbing about that.

I also wanted to say that in reference to this and my post about Mystery Street from The Blob and this movie not being connected, I did find it interesting that the location they were filming on in the linked article above is VERY similar.

Go easy on me folks - remember this is my first ARG. Trying to research some other ideas in regards to the ingredient - which IMHO - is VERY important. It's mentioned like 9 times in the History of Slusho.
[/img]

I live in Royersford. Trust me NOTHING like this is being filmed anywhere near here.

The last one's most accurate. The note between the Gs is actually an F, not an A (it's below the G, not above it).

Going on scale degrees, you have 3 1 3 -5 5 4 5 6 4, because the piece is in the key of C, making C=1.

Getting deep-sea beasties to say "Cheese!"
