email addresses

Under feedback, the Slusho site gives an email address for contact of SatoshiSPLATslusho.jp, suggesting that internal email addresses would be in the format of (firstname)@slusho.jp . Has anyone tried to contact ganuSPLATslusho.jp, norikoSPLATslusho.jp, etc.?

MySpace Japanese image translation

According to a friend who can read Japanese, the text on the Wellmissyourob MySpace page reads:

watashi tachi wa kiseichuu de aru..

And he tells me it means something like "We are the parasite" or "We have the parasite"...

Is the MySpace page IG or a fake?

Considering the page was just created, and doesn't even look semi-legit (a 10 year old could make a better myspace page) i'm going to have to stick to my original assumption of GAMEJACK.

We were talking about it pages back, why start planning a going away party 6 months in advance?
Personally, i'd only plan a party a month in advance at most.

After further consideration, I'm convinced "163" means something.

It appears in two places:

1) NY1 reporting 63 degrees. As stated by New York locals, the degree readout is much larger than it should be, which means they want us to see it.

Also, for the record, it's on screen at the same time the Slusho guy is.

2) Slusho footer: one full cup, the number six, three full cups.

Now, if we only knew what to USE it for...

Personally, I'm having real doubts as to the "Slusho as a beverage" angle. I believe it's all misdirection. Think about what it would cost to retrieve this stuff that you can only get "on the deep ocean floor, under amazing pressure and in the most extreme cold." Now you have to contain it, transport it, get it into the Slusho machines which, by the way, would have to be supercooled hyperbaric chambers? Talk about top shelf...this stuff would make Louis XIII seem like toilet water. "Gimme two Lotto tickets and a Cherry Slusho, please,"... "Here's your Cherry Slusho and your Lotto tickets, sir...that'll be $6,002.00 please." I'm really leaning toward "Slusho the drink" and "Slusho! the website" as being representative, or possibly analogous of something much different.

For example, I tried looking at Slusho.jp from a different perspective and this is what I came up with:

1.The first thing we see when we bring up Slusho.jp is a full-screen, yellow and orange background. It pops onto the page and then begins to alternate, indicating motion. Is this mimicking the explosion in the film trailer?

2. Next, a cup emerges from a single point of the alternating background. It's spinning wildly and coming at us at a high rate of speed. The cup starts out as minuscule, but as it gets closer the size of this cup becomes apparent; when compared to a typical Slusho cup, this cup is enormous! The cup must have traveled a great distance and very rapidly for our perspective to change so quickly. It's alive, it's huge!

3. The cup's trip ends suddenly and violently when it smashes into our screen, ejecting "droplets" of Slusho everywhere. These "droplets" as it turns out aren't Slusho at all, but they are something very different (buttons) than what they first appear to be (Slurpee goodness). Kind of like the "projectiles" that come flying out from the explosion. Notice they make an odd whizzing and crackle like sparklers.

4. Next, out of nowhere we get Joanie and Chachi...the Slusho wonder twins. One male, one female and otherwise pretty much indistinguishable. Is this how Slusho reproduces; dividing, splitting into little whales who will begin the gorging/growing cycle like so many other germs or, Parasites?

5. Finally, take a look at the shadows from the buttons. Sun's high...midday heat. Is this an allusion to the abnormally warm NYC temperature? If it's 63° at midnight, how warm is it at noon?

6. So what about the animals? Don't ask me. I'm on my fourth glass of a really nice Portuguese Tawny Port. Besides, I came up with Joanie and Chachi...someone else gets to name the animals.

Oh yeah...meteors are hot (radioactive) and some even look a lot like Swiss Cheese. Shocked

Edit: Turns out, all of the animals have corresponding constellations. And of course, there's the twins. Anyone good with starcharts?

Not a pro but it's info that's pretty easily obtained. What specifically are you looking at....

----

Not sure what to do with this unless it's a direction, but it just occurred to me that slusho.jp would be the main site and .com is one of the other ones that they wanted to resolve.....and slusho.net resolves there too.

So they got all of them but slusho.org - which was to that goober's site but he changes it up now that it's been exposed and now he wants to "help out" - like Paramount needs his help.

I guess where this is headed is they thought ahead to buy these sites and resolve them to the .jp domain, same as the variations of the 1-18 go to the main 1-18-08 site. Another nod toward this being "ready" as we see it....and it's not a halfass thing.

On the thread of doom there, it was pointed out that the monster may not be the point of the movie, and I posted in agreement - given what we've learned about 1-18, and the cameras being found later to see what happened ON 1-18, then it's likely it focuses more on the ones shown in the footage, the people and their lives...which we gathered already, but the gist of it is that maybe they leave it open ended like BW - we see shit happening and can get an idea of it, but when it ends, we don't have the whole storey about the monster's side of things...since Rob and co, may not ever know what's up - they're just people with a camera that got it on film before they died.

And it's the game (for us) to work out the slusho story and see the events of the evolution of the monster's story....which maybe we can do before the movie but can also be done once it airs for those who never realized it was here (ie: living under a rock).

I wouldn't be surprised if the movie was about the aftermath, figuring out just exactly what the fuck happened, and if "the parasite" does have to do with infecting humans or food sources or something of the sort, how to identify what has been infected and how to get rid of it.

Or maybe a monster appeared, destroyed shit, and subsequently disappearred back under the earth's crust/the ocean.

Kind of OT since it doesn't really relate to Slusho, unless their mining for materials disturbed the monster or something. That seems too obvious though.

Well see tho, that's the perfect fit for slusho to enter the story - based on its history, the grown up version is that either it is something that fell to the sea from space "unlike anything of this world"...or was found at the bottom, under extreme pressure, etc. and either Noriko or Ganu's team disturbed it trying to mine for it for the drink....and shit went badly awry...and then we got the slushobeast...

Or like we'd kinda kicked around early on, maybe one of more of Rob's group works at slusho and Rob was moving til the awry part happened and nixed it. Razz

Actually, once that got pointed out the monster may well not be part of the focus of the story outside what happened, I can totally see how the game aspect is slusho leading us to the movie and that site - maybe 2 fer 1!

At this point, a minor hangover. Very Happy Nah, I'm just trying to look at this thing sideways. From what I'm seeing, the Slusho!.jp site is nearly a perfect mimic, or maybe predictor, of what's happening in the trailer. Maybe the differences spell out wher to go next...maybe barking up the wrong tree.

One thing's for sure, I'm done for the night! Wink Haave fun! Very Happy

Wordgames

Hmm.. hope this wasn't in one of the pages I skimmed through in the parent thread (I've actually "read" the whole thread):
I had an idea about ciphers in the text on the history pages, especially because of the faux "japanese-to-english" translation. We already had an idea about the number six being significant so what would happen if one took every 6th word or character? I wrote a small script and fed it a version of the text with all newlines removed:

Code:
Every 6th word, starting with the sixth:
magic her called she beverages Noriko drank join their flavor vegetables form to deliciousness towns year herself new anything satisfied! Smallest a greatest, world, again! son, experiment, enterprise for drink the so Ganu became accomplishments big. and sea While to best night he a to as lots from enormous tears, the off would - anything was floor, the he in its cousin, knowledge new Everyone Noriko's whale want SLUSHO! SIX!!!

Every 6th letter, not counting whitespace and punctuation:

Every 6th. character, regardless of if it is whitespace or punctuation:

So.. unfortunately, unless you guys can see something I don't that was a dead end as well.. And please don't make this fuel for the straw graspers.. Wink

Satoshi hunt?

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed, but ocasionally at the top of the unforums page is an ad for a reward for help locating a man. They show a pic of an asian guy, and ask for any info in finding a SATOSHI!!! Seemed odd enough to check out, so I left any info I got from the whois at slusho, along with the Satoshisplatslush.jp. I heard people googled the name and got something about a lawyer? Maybe you want to send that info in to?
