[Spec]New theory on the messeges from Mr Archie

Okay after reading though some of the messeges he left on the forums i've noticed a few quotes from macbeth or things linking to Macbeth

Theory time;

Plot of macbeth - Loyal soldier - torn assassin - corrrupt king

Cortana - loyal AI- torn informant ( to grave mind) - corrupt queen ( perhaps with gravemind in organising the chaotic flood and attack on earth??)

Other theory - archie could feel something wicked coming ( by the pricking of my thumbs)

the thing that was coming had been sleeping for Eons ( like grave mind)

*The stain on his hands will not wash
That damned spot* as old as Rock and time ( "i have listened through rock and metal and time"-Gravemind)

archie felt gravemind coming!

flawless speculation Smile

*lady Macbeths speech at the end of her life when she constantly washes her hand as she see's the blood of duncan on them

"out damned spot out i say!"

"who would have known the old man had so much blood in him"

perhaps shows that the entity attacking archie has killed before or taken over a AI before ( cortana?)*

thoughts?

couldnt have taken over cortana, since these logs are from 100,000 yrs ago, not the future (as far as we know anyways)
i think the 'stain on his hands' has to do more with the flood

I believe the provided link may offer a second viewpoint--namely, that you are three days short of being a month late to that particular SPEC party.

Perhaps the forum search would avail you?

Flood are Good. You will be Assimilated.

Continuing to spec away anyway:
From the Server2 Key Unlock transcript (http://halo.wikibruce.com/Bounce_Path_Control)

Just like now the pieces seem to be coming together-
Then, all of a sudden, endless calm

"Just when you think you've reached a new higher plane of intelligence with your hive mind, those silly Forerunners go and fire the Halos"

Waiting for a redemptive hand to turn the keys
Leading to the symbiotic relationship which benefits both our futures
I will guide your movements and you will lead me toward atonement

"But if I can just get past these Ark doors, I can assimilate/guide these humans to fulfill my plan"

So I spec and have probably trouted
ARchie was the Ark monitor, felt the Flood hive mind (which shares(genetically encoded?) memories with Gravemind, and wherever else enough Flood come together to create a hive mind) and is now hiding out
Iris ??? unclear. Not just the servers? CoffeeJedi reminds us Iris and Arkhe were sisters. May still be the entity in the Ark. May be a portion of the Hive Mind.

Whoever's sealed in the Ark, they haven't been outside for a very long time. Whether Forerunner or Flood (or a combination), they are definitely Pro-Flood and think the hive mind is a new, intelligent 'being' with a reason to live that goes beyond making all sentient life into zombies.

Whether they came to this conclusion after years of contemplation (with a flood-infected mind) or were trying to do something useful in the Ark when the Halos fired is still up for debate.

So do you want to trust them? Wanna join the hive mind?

i think gravemind may be some kind of covenant elite(infected by flood of course) that has evolved hence the whole wierd mouth thing...

and anyone else notice how passionate/emotional archie was when he was messaging Fox for help?

and i'm still hung on on the " he is not who you think" bit....

where are those meddling kids when you need them...

Seriously, Simmons, have you done any research regarding Halo's existing backstory?

100,000 years has been a known number since the days of Halo 1. It was the last time the Halos were activated. There's actually a level in one of the games called the 100,000 year war.

Further, an interview with Staten, and I believe Nylund, cited the 100,000 year reference, and, iirc, that it is in earth years.

I'm not one to discourage spec, but in order for your spec to be relevant or as relevant as possible, it can't fly in the face of known facts, or be concocted without some knowledge of the existing and established canon.

Hell, why don't I suggest that Gravemind is actually a Zerg hive-mind that was assimilated by the more powerful Flood eons ago, and that's why he's so smart?

Weird mouth thing? He looked like Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors, and Elites hadn't come into contact with Flood, so your guess of Elite's about on par with suggesting it's a Grunt, a Jackal, or even a Covie Engineer. Or, why not a human?

Gravemind is also decidedly ancient. He's been around. The Covenent haven't been around for a 100,000 years. If they'd had, they would've all been wiped out by the initial Halo firing.

Search and read, then spec. Or ask questions before putting out weak spec if you're not sure of your facts.

Seriously, man. Always consider signal-to-noise ratio.

Seconding that motion. As I linked earlier in this thread, the vast majority of what is being said here has already been said, by people who had their ducks in a much neater row. Please search the forums, please read up on Halo backhistory, please befriend the wiki.

Everybody was new at one time, but an important part of being new in an ARG is first catching up, then speaking up.
