Pictures of people
websites pms use to buy pictures of real people for their ARGs

I'm doing a little project and wanted to know what websites ARG masters use to buy pictures of people to put on their websites. Not famous people, just like a website for a character and you want the character to have a real face.

look for public domain, or ask friends to help out. American Memories will help for classic pictures. Try out Morguefile for more current. Be sure to email the author and thank them and ask their permission and show them your work (they do appreciate it; friendly bunch there)

Another option would be to contact people that look like the character you are imagining on MySpace. They'd probably give you a couple photos for free, in exchange for getting their face out there.

For pretty much any photo needs, and some graphics, you can check out stock photo sites. Just google stock images or stock photos and you should get a bunch. You want to buy images that are royalty free.

Here are two to get you started:
IStockPhoto.com
GettyImages.com

first and foremost use yourself

if you don't have the right look or whatever then try google for stock photo's

can't find the right look there?

ask your friends/family/coworkers/kidnap people off the street

last resort is myspace or bebo or profile heaven

or try some kind of budding actors homepage should have plenty of head shots and such there

infinite resources at your fingertips Smile

What about a Picture-Sharing-Thread in this forum? Everyone willing to share it posts one or two pictures of himself and allows everyone to use them.

Maybe you could try asking drama students at a local college, or see if people from local amateur theatre groups would help.
