This has a pretty comprehensive outline of all the major events so far, and it's updated pretty much every time something happens. There's also CompoundIntelligence, which is the de-facto group on the official Bungie forums for the game. AdjutantReflex, the character who gave us the trailhead for the game, is a member there, and they have some stickied-topics that will get you up to speed (although they tend to get a little off-topic there). And of course, there is a stickied thread here that will give you all the links to sites that we've used so far.

As far as finding new clues, the trail is a little cold right now, since server 2 just got unlocked last week, so it's pretty much a waiting game right now. But you can always check the linked sites and use the tools (on the main menu of this site) to try and find some leads.

Adjutant Reflex is a member at the Brute Ghostbusters group, not CompoundIntelligence. The group was actually created with the name CompoundIntelligence because it was AR's custom title. So, there's no actual relation.
