hi, i'm following this game and thought i'd just mention that i did a whois on those two codes, figuring that they might be the websites where van put ethan's journal. i put this all in a comment (well, three comments) on nighthawk's blog, but i'll paste it here too for ya:

This is very interesting.

If, that is, the pdf press release really did not go up online until the 17th, since the domains were registered on the 16th.

Do we know for sure that the pdf wasn't available on Monday?

Yes, I checked it periodically throughout the day on Monday and everyday since we discovered it.

well until about 10 p.m. MST anyways and again yesterday (Tuesday 7/17) in the morning- when I checked it again after lunch there it was.

If this is the first message you have received from me do not give up hope! There are others that have gone before you, the way has been found, you only need to search and you will find the answers you seek. We will all have a role to play. We are getting stronger, our voices will be heard!

I have more of Haas's writings, I found a secure way to transmit them but I cannot make it easy to find them. There are others who would destroy them if they could.

know the stars of Cassiopeia and you will know when you've reached your destination.

The more I read the more I realize Haas was right………

Dude... WHAT EMAIL?!? You seem to be the only lucky contestant in this game, as you seem to be the only person that received it.

I did a search and see this hasn't been posted yet. Here is the translated text at the bottom of the press release. (Note: I didn't do the unlocking, merely passing this info on from another forum)

Responding to something in my blog. Maybe this will help others...

Quote:
They Do publish their phone number and e-mail address.

1) Have you tried calling that number? Last I tried it, it said "Mind Storm Labs" ***BEEP!***, which is the same thing Triton's doing. Has anyone tried this recently?

2) Have you tried emailing them? I've sent them numerous emails, all serious, and came back with dead air. They don't even have an auto-responder.

There were also mentions of this company/table top RPG as early as March by artists on CG Society.org.

You said it yourself... mentioned BY ARTISTS. Did the company, as a collective entity, make any public mention of it? Has there been an OFFICIAL proclamation before May 30th?

-=O=-

Also, anyone find concidential the mention of Divinus being a RESORT, when it has already been established that Tom McLaughlin is/was a real estate agent for World Quest Resorts in Orlando, Florida?

http://nighthawkdf.blogspot.com/2007/07/mind-storm-labs.html

World Quest Resorts is a legitimate company. Their page has no search options, though. Would be a neat trick to interject a Divinus advertising or prospectus on their live site? Would be even easier for an employee who's associated with being a designer as well, wouldn't it?

Aw, hell, Van did update his auto-responder.

BTW: Stevenson, Washington is an interesting choice of locations. Population 1200, right on the border with Oregon. And it's not far from the "Bridge Of the Gods"...

*EDIT*
I signed up for the World Quest Resorts newsletter, and got this page thank you...

So, unless World Quest Resorts is the single most elaborate front in the history of the world, or Thomas McLaughlin never worked for Mind Storm Labs.

Or Mind Storm Labs doesn't exist.

The way that Triton talked about Divinus it sounded like the resort is not yet open or not yet built. Or am I the only one who got that feeling?

And they said that they may become affiliated with the resort later, why would a defense company become affiliated with a resort?

In their press release, Triton also mentioned being involved in "finance".

Meanwhile, on Cassiopeia: I assume we're to keep an eye out for the W-shape pattern of that constellations stars, and that this will lead us to the correct place for more information.

ETA: Also, of course it isn't open or built yet. That's what their use of the word "proposed" means. Heh.

Has anyone sent 279fh7691 to Triton as their Contractor code?

I just tried it, nothing has happened as of yet.

FWIW, the domains registered using the three codes we have from the Triton release and Van's latest email have specific spacing in them, according to their records.

279 fh 7691
417st jn Eh
6 ld 9102

In the case of the middle one, it also has specific capitalization.

One of the stars in Cassiopeia is named Alpha Cas

The address that's used to register the domains in Ocala is non-existant, apparently.

The technical contact is in Toronto, though, which goes along with MSL's location (albeit slightly).

Or there is more than one Thmoas McLaughlin... Not that strange a name- thought the resort link stands out- but that is the only connection

I'm surprised no one is foaming at the mouth over the Divinus Lux observatory in Flagstaff AZ which is doing work observing double stars in various constellations- Cassiopeia among them...
