No, it's the same Tom McLaughlin. His contact info for the WorldQuest resort and his contact info for the MSL press release were the same.

Which weirdly has only like three Google hits (although one of them is from 2006).

Another is Omega Cas. And it may totally be coincidence, but it's a blue-white star, like the email one from the ethanhaaswasright website.

Wiki - Omega Cas

huh, well I stand corrected- so let me see if I understand this...

whois details from EHWR url listed to Tom MCL, associated with MSL

Triton = confirmed IG via direction there from new whois- on EHWR John Schenkle his email leads us to Triton

Press release on Tritonmentions Divinus resort in development

looking for more info we find a resort company with Tom McL listed on this site- contact info is the same as Tom McL from MSL/ whois

Sounds to me like either Tom McL is moonlighting for this other company based in Canada and goofed big time which is now about to come to the attention of his bosses at the resort company and get him in trouble (ooooh)

Or this ought to very well be IG- I think its a pretty direct lead from one to the other-

RoyamaDesign
Gotcha?

Go to the link for the site designer for WorldQuest resorts, http://www.royamadesign.com/ click on the work link, and see that they also did the sight for MindStorm labs.

Tommy is definitely in game or one of the producers. He was also the original site registrar (or it was at least his contact info) for EthanHaasWasRight.com or Triton or both, can't remember at the moment.

Okay- so then the resort site might not be itself in game- but another source of work for a guy who designs sites...? THat doesn't necessarily make Tom McL IG as a character then and the resort site would then be OOG? Where do we stand on the resort site before we start harassing the heck out of innocent civilians?

And big DUH to the PMs for not forseeing this connection and buffering inncoent folks from this if this is the case...

WorldQuest is a real thing, we ought not to be harassing them at all.

What bosses? According to the WQ site, he's the DIRECTOR of Sales and Marketing. Heck, I'd give him a raise if this was his idea.

Tom was also listed as a employee of MSL (according to a legacy entry in Google; see bix's blog for that one) no more than a couple of months ago. So, again, he went from being an RPG designer in Canada to the Director of one of the largest private resort organizations in Central Florida.

I don't doubt WQ is legitimate; I've spoken to people that know them, and they have a long standing history. I seriously doubt MSL is for real at this point; MSL's basically sprung up out of thin air in the last two months.

March isn't two months ago. January isn't two months ago. When they pop up in January seeking artists, it's under the name "Mind Storm Labs" and asking people to contact them at the infoSPLATmindstormlabs.com address. That's six months ago.

I mean no disrespect when I ask, how do you know they are real? Because they've been around a while? Maybe they will be marketing the resorts in a crazy, hip new way, as parts of ARGs?

Look at all the sites listed at Royama. Most have quotes from TM and people that worked at a ex-military contractor that built interactive simulations and training stuff. Some of it is described as sounding very ARG-ish. Maybe they've been working on this for a while.

TM is also the current director of marketing for a very very real company that owns a lot of popular kitchen ware and appliance brands.

Blah blah blah, proceed to disprove.

they might frown upon his moonlighting, they might also be some upscale snobish people that don't want the unwashed masses (aka US) oogling their goods...

Also even the director reports to the CEO and the board of Directors...

Vans email said "know the stars of Cassiopeia and you will know when you've reached your destination."

Well we now know about Alpha Cas and Omega Cas. This seems very much to be pointing us to MSL and the Alpha Omega Game

OK then, so would you work for a company that simply says "hey, we're looking for artists", yet know nothing about them? Also, do they not have any staff on site?

I don't know... I'm just playing devil's advocate here... and something just feels wrong.

As far as the stars Alpha and Omega... Generally stars are given their two part names: the first part being a Greek letter, the second part being the constellation they are in. I learned that from Master of Orion. Smile

So there's probably several Alpha-something and Omega-something groups out there, but I haven't been able to confirm that easily.

But, for what it's worth, it *might* be meaningful in this case. We just don't know... yet...

We have to find Divinus. Maybe it's out there now, maybe not.
