So...It's our job to come up with something safe to talk through? Hm...I'm not sure.

What would be a safe way to talk? A forum?
Apparently email or IMs isn't safe enough for our Gabriel..

Oh blimey, now I have to go and read all through the Prophecy of stars thread to understand whats been going on.
Are the rest of you that were contacted for this game also involved in the Stars one? Because I wasnt =\ Unless they just contacted me because they wanted more players

For Prophecy of Stars there's a summary in the middle of this page:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20147&start=75
Start from there on down.
I am looking for something similar for Gabriel Lawson

I wrote a summary for Prophecy that will get you 95% updated (linked above). The only really new thing after that is the convo that Esteed posted.
Could someone that's been following Gabriel write up something similar? I've read through the thread and I think I'm all caught up now, but I'd like to be sure I have everything straight.
Edit: one additional thought. Other than Colby dropping the bomb today that both games are related, there doesn't seem to be any overlap yet. It might be easiest for everyone if sorta keeps working in the groups that they're working in and then posts updates to each other. Thoughts?

What about an AIM chatroom for a safe place? Or IRC?

If they're monitoring the internet, would phone calls be more secure? Perhaps even a physical letter or something sent through the mail?

Also, for those of you who don't want to have to go through all of colby's blog, on page two of the aforementioned thread i've summarized all the posts except for the newest one or two, i think.
EDIT: I have them all.

There are also self-destructing emails but it would be hard to have a long conversation. Willselfdestruct.com is one of the sites.

Well, yes, but physical letters would be a bit impractical, in game terms. Phone calls, yeah, that's a possibility.

Everyone can call in and it requires an access code. It seems to be a free service too ... I'm double checking that.

The only other overlap I've spotted is that the answer to Gabriel's question (hinted at by Be Observant - is that right?) involved the blue moon at the end of June which is exactly when Colby Shaw was moved to start blogging about his dreams.
Next time someone catches Gabriel or Michael (excellent name that) some indication of when things started happening would be great - maybe the timelines can be tied in with stuff that's happened with Colby (his break-up with previous girlfriend, the meeting with this one, start of dreams etc.) if the sightings have resulted in people changing then out of character weirdness is something to look for I guess.
[edit]what about a private Facebook group for communication? Though the game seems quite IMish so maybe that or IRC would be more appropriate?

Ideas for "secure" communication:
A. OTR Chats. These are actually secure (they use a plugin to your IM client and encrypt them with AES and SHA-1. It'd take forever for even a real government agency to crack.
B. Something semi-private: eg, no one knows about them. I could set up an IRC server here on my computer and just tell people playing the game.
(yay for Linux skills)
C. Private website/forum (password protected). I could create this and host it too if wanted.
now, I have to go check up on Prophecy of Stars..

There are programs that easily encode text into images and require password to unencode. Just an idea. They theoretically come out if de-stegged BUT they're still encoded so you can't break in easily.

Sorry for being OOG here, but since this is "only a game" there is no need for military strength encryption, so let's not get too involved and instead suggest something that can easily be encrypted and decrypted. Standard Vigenere is good enough
http://sharkysoft.com/misc/vigenere/
and if we want to be all secretive we can use
http://mozaiq.org/encrypt/
for steganography on top of that. Either solution does not require installing additional software.
