I didn't have time to do any research. That means Germaine sent Tristan to Casper? And we can expect results in about 2 days from now.

I guess the pw was similar to the other one, because that was an exchange between the two of them. The others were messages to us.

 		I posted the PW to the pic when I posted the email, actually it was in the email.

I think that [glascoe] is his authentication code for that round of com, as w*ldfl0wer had been for us to him, and I suspect autoreromanzo may have been from AP.

Nice play on the LT group, mort, very nice indeed.

Simplify by going complex?
This centralized thread has been great for synthesis, but new people and those who don't track it frequently seem to be having trouble keeping pace.

Blackhawk had started a timeline/clearinghouse blog earlier. It hasn't been updated in a couple weeks. Might it help to create a new blog or summary thread?

Additionally, we're tracking 1 group LT and 2 profiles, Focus on Film, the Google Maps page, collateral updates at Overwatch, Heaven is a Secret, and emails from 2 individuals. I'm not convinced of the utility of adding a thread for each, but it may be something to ponder.

Many of you will remember seeing Allen's byline from time to time in previous incarnations of HIAS. He didn't submit pieces often, but when he did his stories were always well-researched, detailed, and they certainly pulled no punches.

It appears that Allen took his own life in the early hours of Sunday, July 15, at a campground in Casper Mountain County Park, outside Casper, Wyoming. Other campers at the park reported that Allen had been living at the campground for about a month.

The Natrona County medical examiner has ruled the death a suicide, citing strangulation resulting from intentional hanging.

Allen is survived by an uncle, Mr. Jean Delacroix, residing in Paris, France.

We have been out of touch with Allen for some time, but we assume that he was in Wyoming researching a story. If anyone has any information about what Allen was researching, where he's been over the past 6 months, or what his mental state has been; please contact either Pete or myself here at the paper.

I'm sure you join us in our sadness over Allen's passing.

Yes, I have/had trouble keeping pace, I am somewhat new to these types of games, but I am not new to this particular game. I left for the weekend and have not been able to figure out what has gone on since I got back Mon. I got a password for Focus on Film, but it doesn't work, and I have no idea where the photo of Allen is or how you got the obit or where the game is going.

I'm really hoping we get moved to the "potential" forum soon; then we can start threads and make this a lot easier to follow. might not be a bad idea to put a recap on the blog. It's not new info, so it doesn;t matter if it's public.

Coffeebean, there's a bunch of new information and photographs there. It was originally only the photograph of the body and a few paragraphs.

Spoke more with Yamamoto (weakness for Jack D.), not much useful info, but mentioned that AP's hands were very dirty. Can't really tell that from the image here, maybe J2 can look. His clothes seemed pretty clean in the pic (especially for someone living at a campground). Was AP the type to go around with noticeably dirty hands? TY said that the scene looked pretty normal, just the usual local LE and some onlookers. Said he only saw the exterior of the little camper AP was using; door was closed and a dep was taping it. Says they cut him down, he checked the body for vitals, the ambulance guys took the body (to the morgue(?), he assumed). The ME didn't come on site. That was the last he heard of it other than small talk around the station house. T

Spent much of the very early morning at AP's campsite. The camper was gone, I'm assuming local LE drove it to a lock-up somewhere in town. Will try to find it later today. The campsite was clean, all the misc items (folding chair, grill, etc.) were gone. I found what 'could' have been an improv OP just south of AP's site (good sight lines, out of the way), but no real evidence - very hard to tell in a place like this. If it wasn't suicide, it was very clean and quiet.

I heard that they are shipping AP's body to an aunt in New Mexico later today. I'll see what I can get before then. TY thinks I'm with one of the tabloids and he is hot for a payout. He said he knows someone at the ME's office, so I may be able to get him to do something for me, but time is tight. T

TY was able to get access to AP's personal belongings before they were shipped out. One small box of personal items; billfold, passport, some maps, a couple post cards, a couple pictures (of a tree in someone's front yard(?)), pens and pencils, pocket litter. That's it. No laptop, no notebooks, no files.

TY only got two shots (he said there was no way he was going to try to take anything out since it had already been inventoried) and I doubt their usefulness. He says he did not have time to go through the items, but at least he did find something that I think had been overlooked by whoever got the rest of the stuff.

One of the items in the box is a little blank Moleskine notebook. I assume they did not take it because it is blank. But they must not have realized that the notebook as a little pocket in the back. The torn half of a business card in the middle of the box is what was in the pocket. (I don't have the card. TY put it back. He did not notice what was on the other side.)

The box and its contents have been sent to NM along with AP's body.

There's a map of Finland in the photographed box. Best guess: Hyvinkaa is the town north of Helsinki that he highlighted.

 		Reference/Timeline Complete; Thorn update
Zizka: the above information was from the 7/17/2007 post on Focus on Film. The post was edited a few times by different people conducting investigations in Casper.

I saw one response from Thorn to my post. He included a reference to the Book of John, i.e. John Green. I'm not sure how we reply, but I'm inclined to think Thorn's group is the genuine article. I put up a reply. I indicated, round-about-like, that Allan is dead and that we wondered whether Thorn is Green. I think we trust this group as being the real deal given the kidney (i.e. calyx) hoax post on HIAS and the fact that petal thought that calyx was compromised.

Where did you see the info you posted above? Oh, right.

[Meta]Reference Site: I'm almost ready to host it. Just getting i It's caught up to the present. I added dates so that we have something of a timeline. It probably needs more formatting and editing work, and I'm not sure it's optimally organized. Suggestions will be welcome.

I will de-index the site from search engines for at least a little security. But it will not require a password to read.

This thing is incredibly long, about 18 pages in MSWord. I'm attaching a copy. If you approve, I'll publish it.

Anyone wanna speculate why Hynnänkorpi, Finland was circled on the map in the photo. Or why he had a postcard for Helsinki, Finland in his belongings?

Also raja runoil translated to english from finnish is borderline poet.
Reverse translation gets you raja runoilija which I'm sure is what was written.
But what does the 2764-5511 appear? Maybe an address or phone number thats incomplete?

 		It was pretty obvious that Elena Saarinen was going to be a key, I think she was disappeared, with a cover of a new job so that Julian Thalberg had no reason not to take the Osprey, maybe Julian is the leak, trying to find out about Elena.

Or the alternative theory I have is that the research project Elena is working on is related to FRACTAL.

Do you think that the torn-up business card needs to be retrieved from the aunt in Nex Mexico?
Or at least have Germaine ask lister if he remembers anything about that card?
Or is the torn note the same thing? I thought it was something different.

Finally realised that the calyx/thorn thing is pretty easy to explain. The whistleblower created the map with id t.calyx, then someone took this and pretended to be him on LT. Sometimes I have the tendency to overcomplicate the simplest of things.
That should confirm that HIAS tells us it's a hoax and t.thorn is the real deal.

Now I have to do some Google Earth - ing for those new locations. Smile

I think it reads "raju". Which translates to "tumultuous poet".
"Raju" also can mean "violent" or "wild".
And it's definitely Hyvinkää that is circled.

The postcard on the right...does it look like Lahti? The name fits up there.
Probably not that important.
