Okay, add one piece of info that has confussed me.

the clock on the trailer says 10:15

but the photos all have after midnight listed on them. I guess the clock could be wrong, but if it is, is that on purpose or an accident? Or maybe the party started early and the camera was turned on and off multiple times, but I didn't get that feel from the trailer.

BTW, I didn't read every post of the 250+ pages... if someone has already mentioned this, I appologize.

It's standard movie practice that all analog clocks be set on or about 10:10, regardless of what time of day it actually is.

How many hollywood movies have you worked on? haha and if your gonna say alot, then what are you doing on these forums all day?

So, my historical research into events occurring on January 18th revealed many tasty tips:

Falling Objects:

"1916 - A 611 gram chondrite type meteorite struck a house near the village of Baxter in Stone County, Missouri"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cando_event

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tagish_Lake_meteorite

Ancient Mysteries:
1995 - In southern France near Vallon-Pont-d'Arc cave paintings and engravings over 17,000 years old discovered.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vallon-Pont-d%27Arc

Diseases:
"1977 - Scientists identify a previously unknown bacterium as the cause of the mysterious Legionnaires' disease." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legionellosis

link to Santa Monica:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Airlines_Flight_266

Natural Disasters:
2007 - The strongest storm in the UK for 17 years kills 14 people, Germany sees the worst storm since 1999 with 13 deaths. Hurricane Kyrill, caused at least 44 deaths across 20 countries in Western Europe. Other losses include the Container Ship MSC Napoli destroyed by the storm of the coast of Devon, England.

So they don't have continuity errors if the scene takes a long time to shoot ... or a set person turning the hands back after every take.

If they just let the clock run normally, it could show all sorts of different times durring a given scene.

hmm...

This line is bothering me, from the Slusho! history:

"...she did not join while the other children opened their fun."

What the h-e-double hockey sticks-does that mean?

Hey Jela did you read either of the articles he cited? Or are you content to just quote and add one word or sentence responses? The fact that 47 is referenced in Alias (ain't that where slusho comes from)? And also Star Trek (ain't that something JJ's working on?) should tell you the guy is positing something new that needs at least a chance.

edited cause exrandu's a dude, dude.

First of all, I quote to show who I am responding to, wouldn't make much sense to just randomly post responses to no one and leave you all wondering as who and what I am talking about.

Secondly, I have made more than my share of posts on here related to finding out what the hell is going on with all of this 1-18-08 and slusho business. So to answer your question, No I am not "content" to just quote and add one word or sentence responses... because I would have to say this is the first time I have done so

And for the record, no I didn't read all of the articles... sorry ( not afraid to admit it ).... Maybe I should, but from the post it sounded way outta left field and some of us here have taken to posting theories in a joking manner...so I was asking... didn't want to waste my time reading all of the articles if it was a joke.

The Diet Water cracks me up!

Something tells me the time on the clock is set to that time on purpose... the party starts about 10:15 and gets going pretty good for about and hour and 45 minutes before the "incident" occurs. We see people in various states of party-ness... drinking etc...

The pics on 1-18-08 show Rob getting drinks thrown down his throat, like he mid party.

Plus, We have reason to believe, from the 1-18-08 website that time is important. So I think that time is significant

do you have a comlete list of all anagrams that lead to clues, websites, ect?

so far the only ones i have are a story about a bell hop named
mandrake wig which was meant as waking dream which turned out to be part of a URL

then theere was some sort of newsletter about remembering
wand prowess which was new password

basically im looking for a pattern, or a template. It seems to me JJ is a creature of habbit. if it aint broke don't fix it right?

if those two were two word based anagrams how many more are there? and how many of them are names?

did any of them spell out words in a different language?

how many fo them were strange phrases in a story, such as the slusho history page, and how were they emphasized, what was it that stood out, that lead people run them through the anagram o matic?

BTW I use this one

http://www.ssynth.co.uk/~gay/anagott.html

one of the results for ovenmitt, cheese was

vicomte ethenes

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaux-le-Vicomte

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ethenes

Cliff notes: deadly french gas Shocked Laughing Crying or Very sad

The Statue of Liberty was designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi after he was inspired by Ferdinand Marie Vicomte de Lesseps

and according to the holy google, ethenes is a type of gas that can be used to cut metals.

Anagrams were abundant in TLE, you can find almost everything from that campaign still up at the Lostpedia (dot com) last I looked. Catherwood might remember more specific examples, they were frequently in stories or emails, etc. BUT JJ had little if anything to do with the Loast ARG, it was mostly all Damen Lindenhof and Carlton Cuse (forgive the mispellings)... but they must have had a trusted team to dlelgate some things to and I hope that he is using the same group because even though they had a few possible gaffs it went pretty well- and this isn't moving anywhere yet...

Visit the LOSTpedia section for TLE for history about The LOST Experience.

I barely remember any anagrams at all. The ones mentioned above came from neither JJ nor Damon/Carlton, but from the Verizon Broadband guys, who made their own little side game-within-the-ARG. And as I recall, the eventual myspace page would never have been confirmed as in-game without the Verizon characters linking to mandrake's flikr account directly for us.

Anagrams might be a good confirmation for something you already suspect is ingame; anagrams are terrible starter clues, as they have too many ways to be scrambled. And anagrams are not a "signature" of JJ Abrams' style, as far as I know.

You know, now that you mention that, this DID catch my attention...

Quote:
Stage 3

The third stage of the game was announced at San Diego Comic Con during the Lost Q&A panel where Rachel Blake stood up and accused the show's creators of conspiring with the Hanso Foundation. Near the end of her irate speech she intstructed for all who "want the truth" to go to hansoexposed.com.

This is the same convention that Abrams is attending in a week, isn't it?

And...

Quote:
Necessary tools

- Phone line
- Internet connection
- Web browser
- Google, Wikipedia and Lostpedia bookmarks
- Capacity for critical thinking
- Adobe PhotoShop or equivalent, and knowledge of how to use it.
- Anagram-solving skills
- ASCII converter
- Working knowledge of trigonometry
- Familiarity with classical mythology, Bible
- Korean-language fluency
- Subscriptions to People Magazine and Entertainment Weekly
- Ability to travel to locations in Sydney, Los Angeles, and various locations for Apollo Candy giveaways
- Vigenère decoder

Sweet merciful crap, that's impressive.

Not to mention that TLE had at least THIRTEEN "in game" sites...

yeah I posted that link a few times in this thread, it is where i have been getting most of my info about TLE from, cause i did not play, in fact i didn't even know or care about it.

I was wondering if there was anything else specifically anything that can be used as a sort of template for this new game, please really think about this one, even a stretch is worth investigating at this point.
