OK, yeah, I've said in the past I didn't believe MSL was real. A lot of it didn't make sense, and from a business standpoint still doesn't make sense. But, thanks to research, their legitimacy has been confirmed more and more.

The Cloverfield connection occured only because both were launched almost literally on the same day, and news sites immediately assumed that both were related. I don't know if it was planned that way or if it was simply a fluke, but the EHWR has *never* directly said anything that links it to Cloverfield. At first we had no idea if they were, but now after extensive research we can safely say that they are not related.

Everything that you've heard linking the two has been by fake sites, or sites that have not been confirmed to be "in game", and news venues that made that assumption without any basis.

And then there's all the fans, who will believe anything they are told, like lemmings to a cliff. Christ, reading the legitimate EHWR blog comments gives me a migraine; people going on and on over Cloverfield, slushozoom, Godzilla, etc... etc...

The important date(s) are in August:

- EHWR asked us to return August 1st. I think that we'll know more then.

- Triton Enterprises' new site, including their "secure site", will be launched.

- The "Alpha Omega" official site will be launched, supposedly.

- There are numerous references to a permutation of "8107" (it, or a derivative of it, appears in at least two three different places on Triton correspondence), signifying further importance of the 8-1-07 date.

- GenCon Indy is mid-August, where Mind Storm Labs has a booth.

So, until further notice, we are left with a bunch of questions:

- Where is the Divinus resort being built and what importance will it have (I think this will be revealed with the EHWR relaunch on 8/1, since it is he that gave us that to begin with)?

- What's so special about Stevenson, Washington?

- What's so special about Haas' journal pages? Where are the rest of them?

- Something I'm forgetting.

We got some thing to work with... Let's move on them.

Actually, EHWR was launched June 27-29, when Brian Kessman of Red Interactive Agency spammed it to a number of gamer boards. And news sites didn't assume they were related, someone who posted the Van Mantra videos to YouTube assumed they were related.

OK, I stand corrected. And I thought that the whole YouTube fiasco reaffirmed it in the eyes of the media, rather than initiate it.

Anyway... never mind... Water under the bridge.

Hi!

So, I moved this thread to the Potentials forum, now that that has been cleared of the huge list of 1-18-08 threads. This means you can now create multiple threads to discuss Ethan Haas. If you do, please tag the threads with [EHWR] [HAAS] so they are easily recognisable.

Enjoy!

[EDIT] - Changed [EHWR] to [HAAS] upon request. --Gisk

Response to http://blogs.ci-fi.net/chaf/archives/114 blog

Hey guys,

I received a trackback notification when a guest posted my blog link ( http://blogs.ci-fi.net/chaf/archives/114 ) which explains what happend last week. I assure you that the story that i posted is in fact true, and that A.S. nor I are trying to pull a fast one on hundreds of people posting about ethanhaas.com or Cloverfields. This is what happend:

- a couple of weeks ago A.S. went to www.ethanhaas.com, did the puzzles and sent them the email with our office addy in his signature.

- 1 week later, a kid shows up with a letter looking for A.S. He said that a guy in a baseball cap paid him $5 to deliver the letter to our office across the street. This is the letter: http://blogs.ci-fi.net/chaf/files/2007/07/scan0001.jpg

- A.S. did NOT tell anyone about the website other than me. So none of his friends (nor I) are playing a joke on A.S.

Whoever is behind sending the letter must have noticed our website in A.S.'s signature and noticed that we work in the video game industry so perhaps this is the reason why he was targetted. So far through our research we have not come across anyone else receiving a similar letter. We are just as interested in what this hype is all about as much as the rest of you trust me! If you have any questions leave a comment on my blog. I understand that everyone has the right to be skeptical of me and the letter, but as I stated above, I am not making this up.

If anyone else has read that another person has received a similar letter please notify me if possible.

Cheers

Chaf, where are you located?

ETA: Oh. New Brunswick.

That's interesting, because briefly, between the original Orlando address for Van Mantra and the eventual Stevenson address for Triton Enterprises, the EHWR domain was registered to Van Mantra at a New Brunswick address.

ETA the second:

Fredericton is about 84 km southeast from Pole Hill, where the address which briefly appeared in the EHWR domain record was located.

And of course, this leads you to believe he was chosen because he was located within a walking distance? Wink

I actually think it's entirely possible that some of those responsible (or their aquaintances) for the game seem to not only be in the same province, but in the town Fredericson (or whatever) that the blog list is named after. So the idea that one of em actually did have a letter hand delivered isn't crazy. But even if it's true, there's no new information in it that I can see. Fun but let's move on?

:Edit: Should have read above post which I totally agree with.
:Edit2: I saw Fredericson in one or more of those links from yesterday tangentially related to Tom McL.

It's Fredericton. But, wait what? Where?

ETA:

There is what appears to be an entirely different Tom McLaughlin who is the news director of a radio station in New Brunswick.

ETA: Actually, th station appears to be based in Calais, Maine. And he might or might not be the same Tom McL here, but not the same Tom McL we've previously encountered.

Seriously. And said station is listed on a number of sites as "New Brunswick media". Calais is about 80 miles southwest of Fredericton.

If the two Toms are related at all -- which is a massive massive stretch, which I freely admit -- it might explain being able to arrange someone going into Fredericton and delivering a letter from Van Mantra.

There's likely a different explanation.

Supposing that letter is legit, the fact that the first letters on every row contains three 'w's kind of leaps out to me. A new url?
This has been proven bogus.
