 [SPEC] Possible creature theory

Hello everyone,

I have been watching the boards over the past few weeks to gain a better idea of the history surrounding this possible ARG. After repeated speculation on the creature and what it could be, I thought of the line in the trailer "It's alive, its huge!" After brainstorming over the many meanings this could hold, I thought of the Golem. The Golem was created in ancient times by a Rabbi that wished to protect his people from invaders. The material utilized in creating this object could be various organic materials, most notably mud. The creature was then brought to life by inscribing one of the names of God on its forehead. An inanimate object that is all at once given life could explain the wording in the trailer, it might also explain Abrams' hints at the creature being "organic". Again this is just a theory, I'm not saying that my idea is correct. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to hearing your comments.

Chimera or, more specifically, a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nue (Nue).

Different roars, different feels to the critter's behavior - feels chimeric to me.

to stick with the golem theory for a moment, what elements in the trailer or on slusho.jp provide support for your claim? in other words, why guess golem?

Because it's better than Voltron.

Interesting
Golem...

I find your golem theory interesting because in the Plot Theories (Spec) thread, someone mentions something about the roar kinda sounding like YHWH or Yahweh, another name for god. Not a giant squid nor voltron, Giant squid sounds Like cthulu and this is a new monster.

And I'm sure you have a perfectly resonable explanation on how you know what Yahweh and Cthulhu sound like?!?

You misunderstood
...

I meant someone said it sounded like it might have been saying Yahweh is some way...and I meant this doesn't sound like a Cthulu movie.

so, once again... is there anything to support the golem theory? any reason to expect jewish mythology (besides that abrams is, i believe, jewish)?

here's why i think the golem is out:

1. obscure mythology--the audience will probably not know who or what golem is. this would necessitate a detour into jewish mythology. jewish mythology is not as sexy as, say, sumerian mythology.

2. (ripping this straight from wikipedia) unless this is a hubris theme, where some wicked rabbi creates a golem and unleases it upon the world, i have trouble seeing the golem, as the servant of those who are holy enough to create them, as the destroyer of the planet. it's about as unthinkable as the stay puft marshmallow man being our destroyer... but stranger things have happened.

3. what does slusho have to do with a golem? unless the golem of prague's coffin is hidden at the bottom of the sea under intense pressure and freezing cold--and tastes DELICIOUS.

okay, but seriously. i think the golem suggestion is interesting, and by no means am i ready to discount it, but i think more work has to be done to tie golem into slusho (unless we believe slusho is designed to mislead us, which is also possible) and certainly to eliminate other possible creatures. but it's certainly worth considering IMO.

I vote for some giant flying chimera, or a demon thing, or maybe they are taking the old movies... Tremors! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100814/

I wholeheartedly think the beast(s) is going to be original, but if it isn't, then I'd have to go with the Behemoth/Leviathan/Ziz theory.

Anyone read the book 'The Parasite War' by Timothy Sullivan? About an alien parasite species that infests humans, then all the little baby parasites go to the statue of liberty and form into one big monster one. Somehow it uses the saltwater in the ocean to grow, or something. I read it years ago...now I cant find it. I may have to buy it again.
Going with the golem idea, it was once something not alive and now is, if the statur of liberty suddenly turned into a slimey pile of moving ooze or something to that effect, I might say it was alive, it's huge as well.

what evidence points to the need for us to believe that there are 3 monsters?

The slashes in this case mean "one or the other", not "all three".
