[Trailhead] Gabriel Lawson/Prophecy of Stars [STARS]

Story Summary

Our story starts out in Indiana. A young man by the name of Gabriel Lawson starts reaching out to people on the Internet because something strange is happening in his town. A large red round object appeared in the night sky on June 30th. It appeared at midnight and shortly after its arrival there was an explosion. Soon thereafter, the Army rolled into town. Now the residents are scared, some people are acting bizzare, and "men in black" are everywhere. Since then, Gabriel and his friend Michael have been somewhat paranoid and keeping a low profile. Michael gets the feeling that Gabriel is withholding information from him and even suspects he might be "compromised". It could be Gabriel is just busy, seeing as he's working on finding a secure way to communicate with us and his mother has recently fallen and hurt herself. With reports around their town of people disappearing and even being dragged off, it would seem their caution is warranted.

Meanwhile out in New Jersey, a man named Colby Shaw starts to have weird dreams the same night that the red orb appears over Indiana. His dreams involved an eyeball floating around and feathers. He wakes up and screams "A Prophecy of the Stars!". Later on, he starts to have dreams with the eyeball that tell him he's missing something. He's really not sure what it means, but it seems important. At first his girlfriend, Christine, thinks he's crazy, but then she starts having strange dreams as well. They involve a web held up by two needles, with her ex boyfriend Chet and his nephew Gabriel Lawson in the middle of the web. It seems Chet was out visiting his nephew in Indiana and has actually clued him into Colby's blog. While Chet is busy on vacation, we find out that his current girlfriend, Angelica, is having dinner with an unknown individual that seems to have striken her fancy.

Soon, Colby has a similar dream to Christine's, except in his half of the web is burned by something red and it gave him a feeling of terror. He now concurs with Christine that its important to track down Gabriel and Chet and talk to them about what's going on. Their concern is heightened when Angelica calls them and asks if they've heard from Chet. It seems he has gone MIA. Its also around this time that Colby discovers that someone has embedded a secret message in the source code of his website. It leads to another website ... A Prophecy of Stars, just as in his dreams. With all things taken together, Colby thinks that he and Christine will take a road trip out to Indiana to see for themselves what's going on.

No sooner does Colby relate this to us, then we see a mystious commenter in his blog. The person, only known now as Agent Darkness, tells Colby he should forget everything, stay out of Indiana, and let "those who need to handle this". Following the trail this Agent Darkness left brings us to his own blog. In it, he claims that he's a government agent working on "Project 5224", which deals with alien activity on Earth. He confirms there were aliens in Indiana on June 30 and again on July 9 and that there is now a cover up in progress to hide this. He promises more information soon.

What an excellent idea Uberg33k!

I unfortunately have had no direct contact with Gabriel since the last email. I never seem to catch them online.

I'm still working on the summary right now (trying to make sure I have the story straight), but I thought I'd throw out two things that bugged me after last night's developments.

1. On the Prophecy of Stars weeble page, it mentions "contact is coming soon" and then we have this Agent Darkness pop up. I think this was mentioned in one of the closed threads, but could this be the contact we were waiting for? Did he add the lines in the source code to Colby's blog and set up the weeble page?

2. Was in my own conversation with Christine, she accuses me of being another "alien hunter". Now she may have just been talking about all the people playing along from here at uF, but it seems awfully odd that self professed alien hunter Agent Darkness makes contact at the same time. A misinterpretation on my part or did Christine slip up? Maybe she knows a little more than she's letting on.


Ok, back to work on the summary. Later kids.
