 		[HAAS][SPEC] emailing mezinsource@gmail.com
for more sanskrit
its the email of the user who runs the ethanhaas blog.

I emailed it with the question "does this have anything to do with cloverfield?" in the subject and no text in the body.

I got an auto-reply that said "yes" followed by a bunch of sanskrit in both the subject and message body.


Anyone genuinely interested or wants to help me, as I'm very bad at these kinds of things?

First of all, welcome. Second, please read these guidelines before posting. Among other things, we'd appreciate it if you tagged your posts for clarity and used the Search function before posting to check if a topic is already being discussed.

The Ethan Haas game is not related to this one, you can look in the Potential ARGs forum for more information on that game.

 		I'm afraid we would need to actually SEE this email, or wait until someone else managed to get the same response.

Not one other person has reported seeing the Mezin claim outright that this was linked to Cloverfield, so I don't buy this post.

 		Okay, clearly the current response I just got from Mezin Source does not match what they currently have posted to their blog.

Who's been doing translations from the Sanskrit script? I'm having zero luck figuring this out.

 		I know, I have been kinda negative on here recently, and it is not that I am trying to bring anyone down, it is just my whole devil's advocate mentality.

Take the Mezin blog for instance. Why write in Sanskrit. Sure, I understand that this is an "ancient language" and all that, but it does not jive with the rest of the clues we have received. Sure, the alphabet on EHWR looks vaguely Sanskrit, but it was a straight substitution code. Something anyone could work their way through.

The Sanskrit on the blog, however, does not allow for easy translation. I have copied it into 5 different online dictionaries and gotten no hits. No even close hits.

It does not Jive with me. If I am out of line, though, I will just shut up about this and let it rest...and continue to look for constructive things to add.

 		The question "why Sanskrit?" is entirely legitimate, but if you're trying to suggest that EHWR.blogspot isn't in-game because of it, that's definitely incorrect. It was the first place to mention the Mezin, who then were mentioned directly by Van Mantra himself, thereby establishing its legitimacy.

 		yeah sorry...i brought this up over at the IMDb board and someone said to register here and mention it on this board.

I realize J.J. himself has said the two are unrelated, but we all know how deceitful Abrams can be.

And in the original response the auto-reply said "yes".

Someone's toying with us, that's for sure.

sorry if you all recognize this email address as coming from a particular site, I don't have that good of a memory. I see "gmail" and am by nature skeptical.

If they are speaking of the address in the thread title, it's the email address of those behind ethanhaaswaswrong.blogspot.com, which is in-game -- at least if you take as evidence the fact that it was said site which first referred to the Mezin, who then were referred to by Van Mantra himself, thereby establishing the connection.

If the poster is referring to email from some address other than the one in this thread's title, then I have no idea.

 		Also, what in the world font do I need to have on my Mac to see the Sanskrit to begin with? It renders fine on the Windows boxes at work, but my Mac just gives me question marks.

I would like to address that, if anyone knows what font I need to go track down.
