Just out of curiosity, has anyone else noticed the reflection in the original image looks a bit similar to the infection image?

Has anybody tried a steg detect on the wave file? Is that even possible?
I was thinking maybe the extra coloring we see in the image is due to hidden text or what not in the .wav file.

From what I know, steg detect software for audio files is expensive. I ran stegdetect on infestation.jpg but it came out as a false positive.

originally posted as new topic, but realized it wasn't really a new topic.

I'm convinced that the symbol is the clue to our next step and I have been trying to focus on its significance.

There are two common symbols that resemble the one formed by the spectrograph analysis of the 719hz.wav file.

The first is the Wheel of the Year. This is a Wicca symbol and would fit into the lunar phases theory very nicely. I did some research, but until a few dates come and go, there is too much to explore to really know if any of it fits.

The second is the 8 fold path. This is a representation of the Buddhist teaching about the path to Nirvana. This does not fit as well into the story line, but may be significant.

Just something else to consider.

So, I'm playing a little bit 'o Halo 1 at the moment and I was lurking here a little earlier so this little nifty image was fresh in the old noodle bowl. Anywho, I'm running around the Library, killing me some Flood while Guilty Spark 343 is humming away when I notice, just after he unlocks the first security door, that up there on the wall, in bright, glowing blue, is a picture of this very image you guys are mulling over.

I've got it on my camera phone, but I won't be able to upload until tomorrow morning. If you can't wait, fire up Halo and check it out for yourself. It's immediately after GS opens the first gate and notes it as the first of ten.

After readin this i decided to play that level again and got a picture of the symbol (i have it for pc so i just copied the screen).
As i got farther into the library i noticed a lot more of them and they were a lot closer together as i got farther also

That's the one. You'll note the center has a nice, bright white column erupting upward. You'll also note eight circles and eight segments, not seven, as is the case with the Halo array.

There is also a second glyph on the stage. Mind grabbing a shot of it? It's a sphere with seven circles on the outer ring, not evenly spaced.

I'm thinking we're being shown two parts of the system: Shield and Sword.
