[RL] Alternate Reality Teaching Methods

Was flipping through a local continuing education/course offering scheduled from a college, and found this:

Quote:

PROJECT COUNTDOWN!
BUS8200 HOURS: 7.0 COST: $129.00
Project Countdown is an extremely realistic project management simulation in a "discovery" learning
format. Each participant is an employee of a company, called to work on a cross-functional project
team, which will be analyzing information, making decisions and managing Countdown to a successful
conclusion. The simulation is an intense "nine month" project, with information coming from voice
mail, memos, e-mail, phone calls and from the project manager.

had to grin.

Simulation classes like this (for businesses at any rate) have been around for a long time. Some of the technological infrastructures behind the designs are fairly advanced and interesting, as they're trying to model market forces.

I bet the course will really get interesting when they find out the project manager has been killed and left them a mysterious trail that will lead them through a conspiracy that traces all the way to the government (and possibly aliens).

I'd take it.
