Original PPC Cards - Black Jiffy Envelope

Hey,
When PPC first started with the cards, and they were sending them out as a set of clues I got one of the black jiffy packs with the original cards. I've been asked to contribute something to a charity auction for gamers and was wondering if these have any value.

Cheers.

Yes I think they do.

The black jiffy bag contained the protoype cards which had no scratch off panel and were sent out to only the first 333 people that responded to a question - therefore would be fairly rare. If you have all the various bits that went with it (particularly the 333 leitmark) then I'm sure some people would pay good money for it (I seem to remember that oliverkeers13 payed a fair amount for one at the time!), though with the ARG finished I don't know whether the value will have gone up or down. The relevant wiki page ishere. Would be a pretty good prize for the charity auction I reckon, particularly as each letter was unique.

The 333 badge (leitmark) would bring in the money for sure. Make sure you post a link to the auction (or PM me if it's against the TOS - not sure since it is for charity).

No problem posting the link here for a charity auction Smile

[edit] Have unlocked the thread - not sure entirely how it became locked (I always blame my own stupidity in cases like this though Wink ) but carry on as before!

Thanks guys. The charity auction would be going on here, www.warpcon.com. It's an RPG/Warhammer/TCG convention. It's student run, and the largest student run gaming convention in Ireland, if not in Europe. We've raised about €20,000 over the past two years for charity from the charity auction, and we've won an international gaming award http://www.dianajonesaward.org/06nominees.html actually beating Perplex City, so we were pretty pleased. Mr. Green

If the set is a no go for the auction in January, I'll probably put up an online auction for it and put the money in with the main pool.

Waiting until January risks more loss of interest. And a standalone auction of course will have trouble generating interest, but to deal with that I'd suggest waiting for the next card wave, when there'll be a lot of ebay activity, and then publicize well in the PXC communities. Unless of course there is no next wave, in which case still don't wait until January. IMHO.
