I've been working on the "green box" picture, too. I thought that the white text was in English, but on your view I'm not so sure anymore.

Look at that red logo in the bottom right. I can't make it out, but it looks a little bit like the "Bad Robot" logo.

Oh yeah, kinda.. maybe that's the robot head they were talking about..

Let it go...

It's just a box of rice crackers...

Nothing is going to be so buried, if there are clues in the trailer.

Anyone comment on the guy with glowing teeth, or something in his mouth at about 1:30?

What about the guy in the Tuxedo at 1:25?

regarding the dates for the pictures, IF this timeline is correct--

7/4 first pic
7/7 second pic
7/12 third pic
7/20 fourth pic

then they're following a fibonacci series:

Actually, previous posts indicate the first pic was posted on 7/3, and the second on 7/6.

I can't prove it, but I suspect that the first one went up on 7/2.

7/2(M) - 7/6 = 4 days
7/6(F) - 7/12 = 6 days
7/12(R) - 7/20 = 8 days
----------------------------
7/20(F) - 7/30(M)? = 10 days

That would end July. Maybe August will have a different pattern.

that is some really nice work, you wouldn't happen to work for the NCS would ya? I tried playing with photoshop but no bueno, did you use photoshop or something else?

Thanks. I don't know what the NCS is. I work for NYC doing websites and such on NYC.gov. I did use photoshop to mess with the pic, I use it a fair amount in my daily job type stuff, but I've got nowhere near the skill level of some of the graphic designers here. Mostly I just mess about till it looks good.

It's definitely two different boxes. I outlined the edges a bit to clarify:

Agreed and I also think if you look closely with it turned that way that you can see two people "farming" or "harvesting" whatever grain/food/tea is in the box.

IMO anyway...

It turns out the logo on the box was just a composite of Matsumura Fishworks and Tamaribuchi Heavy Manufacturing Concern. There's your answer, fish bulb.

Still looking for a match for that box.

Ok so I went to the gourmet food store to look for the box. I DIDN'T FIND IT. I do think whoever said it was tea is correct tho... *pics below from grocery store* lol

Tea

Crackers

Anyone feel like finding the real box so we can all rest assured that it's a real brand and not something in game?

No offense intended, but as someone who eats a considerable amount of Asian food and goes shopping food shopping twice a week in NYC's Koreantown, I fail to see all the hype and significance placed over a simple box with a bunch of (presumed) kanji on it. Maybe it's just the amount of tea I drink or the number of times I've wanged my head on the unusually low overhangs while walking down the thin aisles in the Ktown marts, but sometimes a blurry box in the background is just a blurry box in the background. Confused

Right, but it's pretty visible, if you can make out what it is, like that paddle thing... maybe we're supposed to be looking at objects when the camera stops in front of people. After all, the slusho site was found because of the shirt with the slusho logo on it..

More importantly...

Who's the guy in the Tuxedo at 1:25 in the trailer?

What's up with the guys mouth at 1:30?

Your man in Japan

OK, here's the deal. I live in Japan, have been for almost 10 years.
My Japanese skills aren't perfect but I can read kanji and look up the ones I don't know on my spiffy electronic dictionary.
I'll try putting some kanji in my post, but they might not work out well on your individual PCs

How can I prove it? Well.. hmmm..
If I say that I spend my Sundays dodging the NHK guy...any eikaiwa drone returnees can vouch for me with that concept.

Here's what I know in general.
Slusho is not a Japanese drink. Never heard of it here.
The Japanese on the Slusho site is real, no secret tranlations.

The picture of the green box is interesting, I just wish it were even a bit clearer.

There are 4 large kanji and a picture of 2 guys in a field harvesting stuff. However, the scene looks much more like a green tea harvest than a rice harvest. Lots of the ads for green tea have similar scenes.

The leftmost kani MIGHT be "shark", 鮫
the left-hand side of the kanji looks like it might be the "fish" radical, but is not clear. The right side is clearer, and the only "fish" kanji with a similar right-hadn side is "shark" which really doesn't make much sense for a tea box... unless it's a name of a town, or brand.

The 3rd kanji really looks like "zou" 蔵
which basically means "bodily organ" and is usally preceded by a kanji to make a 2 kanji combo for each organ. The second kanji is too blurry, but doesn't seem to match any common organs I could think of such as "liver" or "kidney" or "brain" etc.

The fourth kanji is just way too blurry.

Additionally, the apparent absence of hiragana or katakana means that this MIGHT be a Chinese box...rather than Japanese.

Oh and one more thing, the fractured English on the slusho site could either be a parody of Jinglish, or just due to the anagrams
"A toxic industry's waste" from You can't drink just six.
"Horse of fury" from Fresh for You

For number-obsessed types here's both
Japanese number systems
1 ichi hitotsu
2 ni futatsu
3 san mitsu
4 yon yotsu (yottsu)
5 go itsutsu
6 roku muttsu
7 nana shichi
8 hachi yatsu (yattsu)
9 ku (kyu) kokonotsu
10 ju (jyu) to (toh) (tou)

parnethesized spellings are common variants

Enjoy

Heh heh heh.

Wait, you are kidding right? I got the sense you were poking a hornets' nest for the fun of it.
