Was this the original entry point with the figures in the background and the ENTER sign? I don't remember seeing it.(That doesn't mean much...lol)

Windflower?

This is what the notated points of a compass are called on a map.
I have to disagree with the windflower theory. On a windflower, the points are at specific intervals, and the image we're being shown is not equilateral.

Maybe it's this:
Known as the Faerie or Elven Star, the 7 pointed star is one of the entrances to the Faerie Realm - the gateway to the Otherworld. Each point on the star represents a pathway, or the 7 rays of manisfestation of the Higher Self, as follows:
*1st point - Power, Personal Will and Determination.
*2nd point - Unconditional Love, Wisdom and Growth.
*3rd point - Knowledge and Intelligence.
*4th point - Harmony and Tranquility.
*5th point - the Powers of Mind and Science.
*6th point - Devotion and Honesty.
*7th point - Magick. The points blend with each other, nuturing and joining us as one with the Universe, bestowing personal and spiritual transformation.

You're a Star

I did a little further research that said, "Seven Pointed Stars, called "Faerie or Elven Stars" represent a gift from Faerie to humans to bridge the understanding between the Mortal human realm and that of Faerieland. The 7 pointed star is known as a gateway symbol, a Gate or entrance between our world and that of Faery, the Otherworld. Each point on the star represents a gateway or path of the Higher Self to prepare one for entrance into Faery."
That fits perfectly with the theme of CTW, so my guess is you hit the nail on the head, Cem!
If you look at the logo on the CTW page, you see the star above the hand with the extra finger as it reaches out toward the human hand. It is trying to make a connection and open that gateway, in my opinion.
The coin is on the human's side. I'm sure now that it's been identified, we can figure out what it means in the context of the moonsplash4 logo.

I've edited this (because I can't seem to find a delete button) to remove the secondary spec I posted on the 7-pointed star. I'll go with my original post (The Fairy Star) and Dia on this one.

INFO: Invis.gif At moonsplash4 if you view source there is mention of this graphic. (found at http://www.chasingthewish.com/images/invis.gif ) You have to view very large to find a grid of boxes very similar to a checkers board 20 by 20.

This is likely just a spacer graphic. The checkerboard effect is your graphic program's representation of transparency.

Coin/Moon spec Here's what I think about the coin/moon.
The moon is the brightest spot in an otherwise darkened sky.
The owl was once thought to get its ability to see in the dark through some sort of magical power. This nocturnal visual ability has made the owl synonymous with wisdom because it has the ability to "see through the metaphorical darkness of ignorance."
In this context, superimosing the owl coin (which is one of the most famous and recognizable ancient coins, BTW) on the moon is a good fit. It also makes sense that the human in the graphic has "seen the light", and is ready to go with the fairy through the gateway to the Otherworld mentioned in previous posts about the star.

Oooooh, I like that! The intertwining of the two worlds! And it would explain why the hand on the right (under the Fairy Star) has six fingers....not exactly "of this world ".

And all this time I was just thinking, "Man, that's purty."
I better go back to working the Jumble, eh?

Not at all. I will, however, give you some tips.
Try to get inside the PM's head. The way many serial murder cases are solved is through profiling. The same principle can be applied to ARGs. Read all you can about the PM (such as interviews). Find out what a PM's interests are, as these topics are likely to be introduced into the game in some fashion. People often write about what they know.
If you come up with some spec, try to fit it into the general plot or current storyline of the game. If you feel like you're reaching to get 2+2 to equal 4, you probably are. No harm in bouncing it off others though to see if anything sticks. However, most solves are pretty logical...even if in hindsight only!
If you do have some good-sounding spec, try to back it up. Look for some information to support your position, be it in the story itself or garnered from research available on the 'net. Try to make sure your source is reputable, and not just someone else's conjecture, whenever possible. If your conclusions are not based on common knowlegde, try to credit your source so others can evaluate your facts.
The only way to gain experience in this genre is to play ARGs, but they're awfully difficult if you have no experience. To combat this Catch-22, Unfiction is very helpful. Some other boards/sites are filled with newbies, which is fine, but they won't do much to help you learn the ways of thinking and attain the skill set needed to beat these games. There are good minds here!
Lastly, rarely is anything just "pretty". If it's there, it's probably there for a reason!
