Yeah. Very Happy

I was looking for something like that and didn't find it because I was looking for at least one of them to be very connected to Savannah.

Unfortunately, if that's the right hit, it gives seven options for where to go. Confused

The last one went to a library where a person handed her the next clue, so maybe the B&B will allow for the same option. If not, I guess our heroine is in for a whirlwind tour of Georgia! Laughing

I can hear continual talking in the background of the reversed mp3, but I have neither the equipment nor the expertise to take the thing apart and figure out what is being said.

Does anyone else have what it takes?

I ran it through several filters and the only thing I hear is a female voice at the start saying "STOP" or "TOP".

I think James Stone from the comments page is right tho, in that it's the Fleetwood Neighborhood in Savannah.

My ears are telling me there's chatter. They could be wrong, but there are times when my hearing is freakily accurate.

It's irritating me that I can't make out exactly -what- is being said after that first "Stop", even if it turns out to be useless or even counterproductive.

Re: Fleetwood: I zoomed in on that arrow, and it's the intersection of Fleet and Fernwood.... I'm not sure it's a neighborhood.

If it is, though, it's only a few blocks away from the B&B, which would make this a tantalizingly complex clue if that were both the case and intentional. Smile

Certain place Certain time

The extra audio is only on the right channel, but I can't decipher it either. Tried using the left channel as a noiseprint, piles of filters, and generic eq'ing with no luck and a bit of a headache... It lasts for roughly 14 seconds.

Edit: the extra female voice is between 600hz and 920hz, but unfortunately so is stevie nicks...

Okay, so I wrote this long email to Tricia, telling her that I was willing to help, and even if what was happening to her was strange, I was willing to believe in 'strangeness.' I went so far as to tell her my house has ghosts and I occasionally 'just know' where things are when people tell me they've lost something, hoping that if I was willing to admit to a little strangeness myself, she'd oblige. Not so lucky.

My email was very wordy, so I won't post it here, but this is the reply she sent me:
Quote:

Lacey,

I honestly have no idea what you mean. I'm doing perfectly well with my schooling, and have actually been ankle deep in research for the last little while. That's why I've been so busy.

How did you get my e-mail address?

Like I said before my sister is insane. Don't encourage her. She's been in and out of psych wards all her life.

I'm not sure what that last post was, but it wasn't me.

As for you "haunting" I'm a little surprised that you'd believe something like that as a highly educated person. We all know that there's no such thing as the supernatural.

It's just preposterous.

- Trisha

So. It looks like Trisha/Tricia (according to LJ, it's Tricia, but here, she signs it with an "s") doesn't want to confide in me for the moment. I'll keep plugging at it. Since I'm working on my Master's in Psych, I'll use that to see what I can find out about the whole "in and out of psych wards her whole life" thing is about.

Hmm...A thought about the s/c name issue just occurred to me. Tanya never once refers to her as "Trisha", but does refer to her as "Trish" and "Tricia" both. I'm going to go out on a very long limb here and spec that this is a way for us to distinguish contact between Tanya's real sister (TriCia) and another someone who is posing as her, but uses the name TriSha. Very wild spec, but what the heck.

LOL I sent her a similar email and got a similar (albeit more brief) reply. Then I decided to come here and post my idea about Trisha being different than Tricia. So I've been pre-trouted Smile

Both journals have updated.

srsfolklore:

Considering the quick response and the lack of 'entry cleanup', this looks (as the "hes got me" message indicates) like Trish is no longer on the move but being held somewhere.

Problem, what if this is intended specifically to draw Tanya to whoever, or whatever (Now, the only line I have yet to use seriously is "Yeah, too quiet" Wink ), is holding Trish? We've warned her to be safe, but if that's part of the plot, I'd like to be able to get a little ahead of this and maybe suggest some more specific things to keep her safe.

Also, the female voice on the tape might actually be important. Jane, the mysterious and Tech savvy friend is offering help to clean up the message. (If not for the one mention of the voice in the journal, this would have me irritable, but it -was- brought up in the journal comments and not just here.)

We now have a proper picture of Trish on Tanya's journal.

BTW, Looking at the trip map from Harlan to Savannah, the timing of entries (with proper time for necessary stops) is pretty good.

Anyone else considering asking Tanya how she's paying for this trip? Twisted Evil

The tricia.png is 338kb, while trisha.png is only 136kb. That's quite a difference.

Well, we could cheat and have her take the photos to the Savannah College of Art & Design PhotoWorks and see if they can render anything. A nice way of telling the PM that we do not have the wear-whithall to solve this part of the puzzle. Laughing

It IS right in town afterall.

Just to be clear, the polarized version of the picture on Tanya's LJ is titled "Tricia" and the normal version is titled "Trish", not "Trisha" (with an "a").

Sorry for the double-post.

I sent Tanya an email (again, too wordy to post) asking her if some of the things Trisha wrote in her email sounded like Tricia. I didn't suggest that this might not be her sister, just said that the mixed messages were very strange to me.

I also asked her about the men in the library since some of you were wanting more details.

She wrote:
Quote:
Hi Lacey,

First off, I'm going to have to be brief but that really...doesn't sound much like Trish. She's generally very kind to everyone, and though she has a temper she's quite patient with most people.

And to save you the time, I've never been inside a mental asylum. Sometimes with everything I had to do I felt like it might have been a good break, but no... I'm pretty much the farthest thing from insane I know. I'm generally more even keel than my sister.

Which brings me to my next point -- as much as Trish never really wanted to admit it, she still believes in fairies! She's always been a believer that there are "things out there", I guess. I wished she would have gone into something more stable, but that was her dream.

I never really saw her on campus, no, even though we lived pretty near to each other. Trish lived by herself in a rented apartment. She tried the roommate thing and found she didn't really like it.

The guys in the library? Uh, well the glimpse I got of them they seemed pretty normal. One of them had a leather jacket and the taller guy seemed a bit more... I don't want to say nerdy but I guess that's the best descriptor. One was blond and the other had a bit longer hair and brunette. They seemed to be pretty young -- somewhere between 20 and 30 I guess. It's hard to tell with that age, I guess, exactly where someone might be.

Honestly, I'm just tired. I have no idea what's happening with Tricia but none of this seems like her at all, so I'm glad people are here to help.

- Tanya

When I replied to the email from Trisha, I asked what Tanya was treated for, her diagnosis, meds, etc. along with a few other questions that the 'real' Tricia would know, but an imposter might not. Maybe that'll give us some ideas as to what to try next.

Sounds like Sambo and Deaner and trailing our heroine.
