My email to germain:

Quote:
Below you will find hte addresses provided me so far. I suspect I will get more shortly. I know we have more people on this, but many of them are tied up a few other projects. As I get additional addresses; I will forward them to you.

<omitted>

We are, I hope, slowly chipping away at the information you have supplied us, as well as some information from other sources that you may be interested in. They are certainly tough nuts to crack, but if I know anyhting about squirrels. . .

incidentally, the email address I use to correspond with him is *battlesquirrel, so thta last part is a little joke. Razz

I'l try to look at the poem tomorrow. the AP cypher is just making me mad at this point--best ot leave it for a day and come back to it. I also want to detail A's possessions a little further. I hopw this cypher issue get resolved soon.

60 Knightsbridge

Sounds like we're expected to bring something to 60 Knightsbridge, not the other way around.

60 Knightsbridge happens to the Royal Thames Yacht club.

I am still puzzled by twittering teeth...and everything else, for that matter.

What I wrote to Samgrass:
Quote:
Your poem's rhyme scheme, ABCB, marks it as a ballad like the Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Coleridge. Unfortunately, ballads are the earliest form of poetry and storytelling. So this poem could be from 1942 or 1492 or ealier.

The imagery is, indeed, quite striking, and I have some ideas as to what it means, but would not feel comfortable sharing them publicly for fear of ridicule. I would not want my criticism to be considered unripe.

1942 being a reference to the number Perfidy was supposed to use when contacting petal.

And Samgrass replies to me:

Quote:
From the paper (lined foolscap), I can assure you it is from a time much closer to the Great War than the discovery of this land. I would love to discuss the poem in more detail, and get it restored to some degree, but bloody hell it's like pulling teeth finding someone you can trust. I thought I had an in with my friend, Janice, but she appears to have flown the coop.

I know what you mean about people poking fun at your ideas, these groups are just swarming with trolls. And some of them are so clever (and mean-sprited); gad's bones, man, for all I know you could be one of them setting me up for sport (I'm sure that's not the case, but you see what I point).

That's one of the main reasons I joined my club; you know where you stand with your mates at your club. Just like Bertie and Gussy at the Drones, right? Just like 'M' at Blades.

You're not a club man, by any chance? Haven't seen you walking down Knightsbridge in the wee hours have I? If I had, how would I have known you? Doffing the helmet off some bobby, I suppose Wink .

...and I still don't know what to do.

Twitter

I've tried all sorts of Twitter searching. There are no posts from that part of London. I also tried looking for all the keywords and usernames I could think of.

I've got a follower at Twitter going by the oh-so-inconspicuous handle of "mysteriously unnamed".

update at royalthames

Fantastic, you found it, Coffeebean! Smile

There's a new one:
Quote:

I shall be sipping tea for another 35 minutes. After that it's off to the land of nod for another day.

I wonder why you didn't see this, Coffeebean. Since you posted about 5 hours ago and this is supposed to be 10 hours up...?

35 might be just random or not.

If you click on "10 hours ago", it doesn't show the precise time of posting. I guess you can set that in options.

I suppose the avatar is art from Brideshead Revisited or Jeeves books?

the avatar seems to be default. I can't figure out how to reply to messages. We certainly are being taken on a tour of social-networking web sites with extremely limited functionality. Razz

I think I'll look more at the contents of that box today. The cypher is just a little beyond me at the moment.

Still no response from G about the secure site. If you haven't given me your address, do so when you get a chance.

I did see the tea comment, didn't think it was anything relevant since we weren't on at that time. Mine does show the time, posted at 6:16 pm, July 22 (for the comment about the poem)..sign up for an account, that may show you more options. I believe without a picture, it is just the defaut. The question marks were just to ask what everyone thought-meaning: I tend to get too excited when I think I've found something, and then it's not what we were looking for.

Should I leave a twitter about solving puzzles (cyphers)?

wierd email

ok, i know i haven't been on in a LONG while. that's because i don't have time to put into this anymore. so please stop emailing me to join the group or about any new info.

i'm posting this message because of an email i got. i dont understand it, and after declining, he keeps responding. i have no idea why he would contact me besides that i posted my email on this topic. if this email has anything to do with the story tell me. otherwise, ignore it.

From The Desk Of Mr.Nitiema Boukari.
The Head Of File Department,
Groupe Bank of Africa B.O.A
Ouagadougou Burkina-Faso West Africa.

Compliments Of The Season.

Pardon my indignation if my proposal letter comes to you as a surprise or may offend you for contacting you without your prior consent.
Firstly, I got your email address from the professional data base found in the internet Yahoo tourist search (tourist search? i havent left the USA in all my life) as I was searching for a foreign reliable partner after series of prayers and fasting.

I was divinely directed by the almighty to contact you among other names (i was the only name on the to: line) I met in my search. I believe that God has a way of helping who is in need (i don't believe in god, therefore it makes no sense). My name is Mr.Nitiema Boukari.from Burkina Faso.

I work with the Groupe Bank of Africa as the Head of file Department. In my department I discovered an abandoned sum of $ 18 million U.S.A dollars in an account that belongs to one of our foreign customer who died along with his entire family in a plane crash.

From the day this bank got this information about his death, this bank have expected his next of kin to come for the claim of his fund and no one comes because the only next of kin( his wife) died also.

As indicated in our banking policy the bank cannot release his fund to anyone unless somebody applies as his next of kin or relation.

Therefore upon my discovery I have decided to make this proposal to you so that you will stand to the bank through writing an application letter as the next of kin to the deceased person and fund, on the acceptance of your application letter to the bank, the bank will release the fund into your account as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement.

I will not like this fund to be transfered into the bank treasury as one of the unclaimed bill.

The request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned forthe fact that the late man was a foreigner and nationality of Burkina Faso cannot stand as the next of kin to a foreigner.

On your acceptance, I will send to you the application letter you will send to the bank for the claim of the fund, and I will feed you with the accurate information's that will enable the bank transfer the fund into your account for both of us to share at the ratio of 60% for me while 30% for you and 10% for the expenses incurred.

Immediately after the transfer has been made into your account I will visit you in your country for my own part of the money as the percentages indicated.

Mr.Nitiema Boukari.

like i said, i have no idea who this guy is or what he wants. i sent him a few replies saying i did not want any money. he replied back just saying that is 100% legal and safe. thanks.

The rules are, you have to wait until TCJ/Overwatch is considered an ARG with potential and is moved over into this section. Then you can create individual threads for new major developments and such.

I assume that this isn't going to be moved until the prelude is done. That's usually the way it works when some kind of pre-game is officially announced (I think).
The only exception to that rule I have seen so far is 1-18-08/Cloverfield/Slusho/Mega-Hype-Untitled-Project, which spawned so many threads by newcomers that the mods probably gave up and put it in its own section for it to not further "infect" the rest of the boards.

@fedge
Definitely nothing to do with the game.
It's a scam. Put the email address on your spam filter. Did you post your address on the board? If so, now you see why you should never do that.

so. . .how are we responsible for fedge getting the classic "I'm a legitimate businessman from Nigerea and I need your bank account number" email? Razz At least the spam mail took up half the page. Rolling Eyes

I'm more or less licked on the cypher. I need a major breakthrough on it, as my current approach just isn't working. I'll look into fractal cyphers to see what they're about.

Right now, I guess we need to find ol' petal on the twitter and hope we make some lucky accidental discovery on that cypher.

Thos eof you who gave me addresses recently should expect contact from someone referencing "127" soon. That will containt information about the site arranged by G. He also expects to hear from T sometime tonight. Maybe they'll throw us a bone on that AP code. Razz
