You're in luck! I just wrote up procedures for my company's staff to hack their Blackjack's w/ custom stuff. These instructions are for a Windows Mobile, so you'll need ActiveSync.

1. Custom Ring Tones

1.1. Get an MP3 you want to make into a ring tone

1.2. Install Audacity and the Lame_Enc.DLL

1.2.1. Audacity can be downloaded at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

1.2.2. Lame_Enc.DLL can be downloaded at http://www-users.york.ac.uk/~raa110/audacity/lame.html

1.2.3. Instructions for installing Lame_Enc.DLL can be found at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq?s=install&item=lame-mp3

1.3. Open the MP3 with Audacity

1.4. Use the GUI to edit the MP3 to approximately 25-30 seconds to use as the ring tone

1.5. Highlight approximately the last 2 seconds of the snippet and add a "Fade Out" effect

1.5.1. Click on "Effects", "Fade Out"

1.5.2. This is optional, but highly encouraged

1.6. When done, click on "File", "Export as MP3"

1.7. On the "Edit the ID3 tags…" menu, select "ID3v1…"

1.7.1. NOTE – This is crucial for it to work correctly!

1.8. Use ActiveSync's "Explore" to copy the MP3 ring tone to the phone's file system at \Application Data\Sounds\

1.9. Using the phone's UI , go to \Start\Settings\Sounds\Ring Tone\

1.10. Select the new custom ring tone

Screw the roar, I would love to have "I saw it it's alive and it's huge!" as my ringtone.
