[OT] Is this really an ARG

Is this really an ARG or are we just sitting around doing nothing, I mean we found server 1 almost immediately (but we didn't know it at the time) without solving any puzzles except clicking on a few spots that had blurry numbers on them in the comic. SOTA has yet to do anything, they just had a link to the Transmission log, which forwards you to Server 1 now.

Server 2, I think that this was the only thing that looked like it could be part of an ARG it was an actually puzzle, it gave us a couple clues, like a different part of it each day for (I think) 5 days. It made us have clean up audio and than look for puzzles within the message. Then it lead us to find Kiosk which ended the puzzle and opened the server.

Server 3, I don't even know what happened here, apparently someone found a trailhead and then 30 minutes later it was open and done with.

But the thing that gets me is that so far, none of the stuff in the servers has had anything to do with the ARG, as in it doesn't lead us anywhere, it's just information, Like 108 Snpow, people thought it lead us somewhere but it has just ended up in a dead end right now. For now the Star maps could hold something but I think it's just showing how the further you get away from the ark (if it was the O in the middle) the less life and stars there are. But everything else was just information about the forerunner and flood, don't get me wrong I like learning about the Forerunner and flood but it's just too boring every 2 weeks at this point. And at this rate, the servers should end sometime in August, then maybe just maybe in the time server 5 opens to Halo 3 release the ARG will actually become really interesting.

(sorry for the last paragraph being sort've messy)

Discussed at length here.

General consensus is (IMO) that this is just storytelling, with some minor ARG elements thrown in. But that should not stop anyone from enjoying the story.

Concur. The above-mentioned topic seems to indicate that they have dumbed down Iris for the proletariat (read: ADD 13 year olds), which might account for the spoon-feeding of information, but... Come on now Bungie. Don't just GIVE us URLs to servers, or if you do, for god's sake don't let the unlocking feature be scratching a microphone.

Whole heartedly agreed. I liked the trail leading to Server 02, but for Server 03... c'mon.

I totally agree with all of you. It seems to me they started off on the wrong foot with the trail head to 3 (no packages) and just opened it arbitrarily through.

Maybe were going too slow so they're just opening up the server?
