[SPEC] Thinking outside the box for this monsters look
using all intel found

I think the monster is some kind of mutant or alien creature.

Another reason one would say somethings alive, is not only if it were a golem, (or an earthly object that is not normally alive) but if it is something that they had never seen before. something that no human could have created. a Giant behemoth of an alien.
Dont anticipate a giant animal or chthulu Those would be obvious to the it is alive. and wouldn't get so much excitement. not as much as the "OMFG ITS FLIPPING ALIVE AND ITS FREAKING HUGE!!!"
Also the monster would need to be able to rip the Statue of libertys head Off(The poster shows that it wasn't simply knocked off, there would be cracks if it were knocked off.)
Also a giant rock man wouldn't have a roar like the one we have heard. this is a monster similar to godzilla but much different (big and unnatural to our time)

I have a picture of my idea of what he monster MAY(not will MAY as in a 10000000/.5 CHANCE THAT IT WILL in favor of the not)
If I can redraw it on some easier to scan paper I will upload it

The roar:Yes it sounded very much like a roar. but the roar could also be distorted by outside interference like say the riping of metal, screaming, ect. we only have a small sample of the raor as of now. And I agree that we did in fact hear the roar.

also in regards to the explosion:
Theres no proof that the explosion was caused directly by the monster(IT using some power) Opposed to it throwing an explosive object like a truck or oil tanker with gas (which we know is highly combustible). these things are things we need to think outside the box for.

there's no need for the recap on everything we know.
someone lock this thread.

(this moderator chooses not to lock the thread; if "everything we know" is buried in a 300+ page thread, then a recap could be useful IF it spawns a more focused discussion; if no one cares to discuss this in depth, the thread will drop to the bottom of the pile from lack of use -- catherwood)

And I am forced to quote myself. *ahem*

Folks, I think we're overexamining this "it's alive, it's huge" thing.

If you saw a ginormous explosions and a wierd noise, you would assume (in today's day and age), either "terrorists" or "freak accident". We don't live in a time where we believe in giant monsters or dragons or chimeras, and for anyone to naturally assume that a nonhuman, living thing is attacking the city is pretty far removed from reality.

The "it's alive" line is a hint that this is indeed a monster movie, not that it's something that was previously not alive or assumed to be inanimate, sleeping or dead.

if it is something that came alive i would think it would be the statue of liberty but as you all saw, its somehow shrunken to fit inbetween buildings, head so i dont know but if it was near the SOL it must of come out of water which brings up godzilla but as we should all know he was bout out by some corp that has him till 2013 even tho the movies have alot in common like release dates and stuff. there is also that people think it is the dreaded evil beast Cthulhu who lives deep under the ocean but i think thats not going to happen.
but if you watch LOST you will know that JJ abrams is an ass who keeps you guessing

i for one think its got to do something with robots

Yes, robots that come out of the ocean. Half way through the invasion, they cease to move due to rust. That makes just as much sense as a lion.

As much as I hate the "not alive, then alive" theory, there are rust-free metals. Ever seen Star Wars? Very Happy

I have to agree with AfterDystopia. I think people are really overanalyzing "It's alive!" It sounds like people are claiming that you're supposed to get some kind of logical incongruity from the fact that the guy yells "I saw it! It's alive, it's huge!" when in fact it's a pretty benign line.

I mean, why is nobody focusing on the fact that he said "I saw it!" Presumably lots of people have seen it, so why would he say that? Or "It's huge!" Presumably it would HAVE to be huge to be rampaging through New York. Why would he say that? Why say anything instead of just running? (because it's a movie and the audience is being fed a minor bit of exposition, if we want to be honest, heh)

Yet there are no theories, wild-eyed or otherwise about those lines. People tend to latch onto "It's alive!" for some reason -- possibly because of the meme status it garnered due to some half-deaf Voltron fan. Smile

Thinking that JJ Abrams said it's going to be crazy and something insane, and since King Kong and Godzilla were mentioned by him at comic-con, what could be more crazy/insane than....Kongzilla??

You heard it hear first!!

Well- we saw the destruction from the camera man's point of view. I assume ISIIAIH("I saw it, it's alive, it's huge!") guy was telling the camera man who arrived after the destruction started that ISIIAIH. And... well, we see his POV, and I sure didn't see it... and being that I didn't see it, it's nice to know IAIH rather than thinking, "ZOMFG, IT'S TEH NOOKS LOL." I was just told by someone who saw the monster that it's alive and huge. I have no idea where to end this.
