Great find Smile Now I'll check out the colors and try it in the slusho maker.

Just to point out, it may be a long shot, but I'm guess an oven mitt(en) would contain lining, which is the english word for the spanish word "Forro" which is part of the name of the spanish band Forro in the Dark

The colors of the myspaces with those bands are white, red, and pink, which I rounded to yellow, red, and orange, which unfortunately yielded no results.

Still a good find Smile

I don't think it has to do with the mixer. But, there may be some kind of tie in with the people. I don't recall the slusho characters that think of the items... or the exact Myspace accounts that go with the songs. But it could be a clue...

Ok, this is out of left field, but the names "Hudson" and "Hawk" got me thinking of the movie, "Hudson Hawk" - in that movie, Danny Aiello and Bruce Willis are cat burglars that coordinate their timing w/each other (during break-ins) by singing songs to themselves - each song has a meter and a set duration, etc. There's a scene in the movie where they quiz each other on song titles and the duration of each song.

So, could the duration of each song be significant? I realize this is a stretch. I only mention it to enlist someone's help - I couldn't easily find an official duration for each song. Embarassed

Itune the songs using the list a few posts back, it will help you. Just search for it and check how long they are.

Just noticed something

You can only view 3 out of 4 of the comments on rob hawkin's myspace.

I hope this wasn't posted before since I didn't see anything on the search, but i stopped looking at the end of the first page of results.

Any ideas on this?

You guys are really digging way too deep in these things.
The MySpace profiles are set up as an extension of the "reality" of the movie. The idea that if these movie characters existed in real life, they would be the type of hip, young professionals who would have MySpace pages (and probably facebook, LiveJournals, who knows what else).

By creating these extensions of the movie, the producers/directors, etc are making the movie going experience more "real" for the viewing public. There is no "puzzle solving", just finding out about characters' lives before the events that will occur in the movie.

Heroes did that. Claire had a MySpace page. "She" posted as if she was a high school teenager throughout the first half of the season. Then she stopped when she was "on the run" and in NYC. Problem with that is the tv show only went forward in time a couple of months (Sept - Nov). So now the site is essentially dormant. Hiro had a blog (accessed via the NBC website) where he often remarked upon his adventures. I'm pretty sure it will not be updated by Hiro for awhile (since he is 400 years in the past - but maybe Ando will access it next season).

Any comments that are not from established characters will not be canon and you can count them as OOG....except this really isn't a game, it's just an extended alternate reality (EAR?).

So, relax, and enjoy the ride. Wink

There are two missing friends in the friends list. Jaime removed those friends, but the others still have them as friends. So, the comment could be from one of those two missing friends.

Do you think JJ would make this game to only include the main characters? I think he's smarter than that. Plus, you never know who/what may be on the outside, or seemingly OOG.
He's definitely not going to limit his creativity. His goal is to send us on a wild goose chase. It's our responsibility to analyze any and all possible clues.

You never know if those video comments are related to the trailer, Slusho, the 5 photos we have so far or the date 1-18-08. Yes, some of the video comments may seem to fake. But maybe that's what JJ wants us to think if any of them are actually IG. That would be brilliant.
As of now, the video comment section is all that we have to publicly "communicate" with the characters, besides messaging them.
That said, I believe it is IG- the comment section itself. Who knows, some comments may affect gameplay?

Speaking of, did you all catch Rob's tagline? It reads-

"That looks like something a lamppost could do"

I believe that is a direct reference to this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=im7wWMVzIyg&mode=related&search=

So as we analyze the clues, let's keep in mind that we may just have to over-analyze a few along the way in order to discount them.

You guys really think JJ Abrams has time to do all this HIMSELF?

He hired a firm to set up content. He knows the power of internet buzz after the first season of Lost. ABC set up the interactive sites (Oceanic Airlines, the stuff at ABC.com, including the diary, etc). He (or his production company) gave out the parameters and some firm set up the TLE.

I'm sure he gets regular updates on all the buzz being generated by the mysterious trailer and the release of the movie poster (it's in all the entertainment magazines and I'm sure it's only a matter of days before the TV entertainment shows start calling SpaceBass about all the noise on unFiction about the topic).

But JJ? He's a busy busy man. Not doing this himself. He's got a hired team doing it.

Don't be so naive. Of course it isn't JJ himself. When I say, "JJ", I'm speaking his enterprise.

How do you explain the lamppost comment? Do you believe that is totally unrelated? I find that hard to believe.

Furthermore, I sent Rob a message which has since been "read".

Why would this firm waste its time reading the 1,000's of messages that must be arriving daily.

Why not leave them unread. Or better yet, delete them entirely?

IMO, It's because they want to hear from us.

Why? Who cares, but it allows us to participate and possibly manipulate the plot in small ways here and there.

We'll know on 1-18-08 once everything comes together.

konamouse, you make some good points, but you're also a bit too sure of yourself. I mean, you present your opinions as though you're an official spokesperson for Paramount/Bad Robot.

Right now, we all know that this is marketing, and an EAR as you say, but it might also be the start of a bona fide ARG, w/more to come later. Either way, where's the harm in speculating, and even actively pursuing wild possibilites? I'm not investing time in this because I think it will pay off later w/some discovery - I'm doing it because it's FUN right now. Even if it's all nothing but marketing - it's still fun to pretend there's a mystery/puzzle somewhere. It's not like anyone is demanding that YOU chase these possible 'leads' down. So, can't you let us have our fun? Please..?
