[META] - Short Interview with Nash Carey

Nash stopped by #unfiction earlier, and for whatever reason, I was the only active person on. I took the liberty to poke and prod at his soft spots, and I have the following (raw) interview to share. There's some interesting stuff in here!

[11:46] <NashCarey> I am doing a little work, and just thought I would stop in and say "hi". No I live in germany

[11:48] <NashCarey> Once the game goes live I won't really be able to come in here too much..... I need to stay more BTS
[11:48] <Sin_Vraal> The scene's gotten a little looser with that concept in the past 6 months or so, but of course that's understandable.

[11:49] <NashCarey> Actually they are all quite kind..... the neighborhood is like none in America
[11:50] <NashCarey> The neighbor kids take the dog for walks daily and won't let me pay them...

[11:50] <NashCarey> Not only that.... they all learned english and went out and got books on english when we moved here
[11:51] <NashCarey> before we even thought of getting a german book
[11:51] <Sin_Vraal> heh that's awfully cool.
[11:51] <Sin_Vraal> i'm surprised the rest of the crew isn't swarming ya
[11:51] <NashCarey> quite utopian
[11:51] <Sin_Vraal> they must all be out enjoying their saturday mornings

[11:52] <NashCarey> Yeah, if so, that's fine.... I have such little impulse control I would probably start telling them things I shouldn't

[11:53] <NashCarey> I can say pre-game will start VERY soon... like the first or the 31st..... depending on the time zone

[11:54] <NashCarey> The actually game....... well, in pregame you will get the sense
[11:54] <Sin_Vraal> that's cool.
[11:54] <Sin_Vraal> Planning any "surprises"? Things that you think are really gonna wow us with never-seen-before delight?

[11:54] <NashCarey> sorry

[11:55] <Sin_Vraal> well i wasn't asking for specifics...
[11:55] <Sin_Vraal> more like an enticement. grin.
[11:55] <Sin_Vraal> which of the games, if any, have you played? I haven't been around longer'n push nevada to really know the crewmembers that were around for the earlier games
[11:55] <NashCarey> Just know, this HAS to be the biggest budget private game ever.
[11:56] <Sin_Vraal> sounds succulent.
[11:56] <NashCarey> I played AI, got lost, and never finished....
[11:56] <NashCarey> I played MAjestic.... finished and went to bacis
[11:57] <NashCarey> err basic training
[11:57] <NashCarey> Got out of training about the same time CTW: started and missed most of that by the time I even found ARG gaming
[11:57] <Sin_Vraal> Oh you've missed some true gems then - chasing the wish.... acheron...
[11:58] <NashCarey> I kept doing searches for "games like majestic"
[11:58] <NashCarey> They never had the "ARG" tag then.
[11:58] <Sin_Vraal> i don't know who first coined that. Most likely VPISteve
[11:58] <NashCarey> I played Acheron
[11:58] <Sin_Vraal> you did?
[11:58] <Sin_Vraal> I don't remember ya Smile

[11:58] <NashCarey> But had some tech issues with the gov't computer I was using in Iraq
[11:59] <NashCarey> I posted a few times
[11:59] <NashCarey> I had the biggest issues with password sites
[11:59] <Sin_Vraal> oh yeah? govt had some nifty stuff up to prevent those going through?
[12:00] <NashCarey> I never PMed though....... And we don't really have many BTS people...... but hey, I think I got most everything handled with who we DO have
[12:00] <NashCarey> Yeah..... they had cookie chaser software
[12:01] <NashCarey> Permanent cookies, undeletable that track you on the internet
[12:01] <Sin_Vraal> well i can say on behalf of a number of people that we're champing at the bit - there aren't too many game-type things open at the moment, so if you're truly starting soon, you'll have undivided attention
[12:01] <NashCarey> So, I couldn't get in after typing in the wrong password the first time
[12:02] <NashCarey> Great!! I hope I don't disappoint
[12:02] <NashCarey> Didn't you work BTS on Acheron?
[12:02] <Sin_Vraal> heh well i think your opening site is rather diverse - it's impressive to see all the pre-work on it.
[12:02] <Sin_Vraal> I did, starting about halfway into it after they lost LiqidCrack and their server.
[12:03] <Sin_Vraal> Mostly puzzle-writing
[12:04] <NashCarey> Cool, you miht remember me then.... I was the guy that was in Iraq and talked mostly to the wife character/
[12:05] <Sin_Vraal> yeah, i went through some notes when you said you were playing acheron, i didn't have direct contact with ya tho Smile

[12:06] <NashCarey> I appreciate the compliment..... Though I will say that Amboy monthly was supposed to look "low-tech" and I had reservations about making that my trailhead site
[12:06] <NashCarey> THought I might turn some people off
[12:06] <Sin_Vraal> Well now that you say it - I think there were a few people who - though obviously impressed with the level of *content*, were a little wary of the lack of "polish" it appeared to have.
[12:07] <Sin_Vraal> But that's to be expected really
[12:08] <NashCarey> Oh well, live and learn. I wanted to more with it, but hey it would look too good and it would of been out of character for the people characters behind it
[12:08] <NashCarey> So, I think tonight heads will be turned if they decide to check out somethings
[12:09] <NashCarey> Nothing "pre-game" yet..... but definitely polish.
