Neurocam Protocol X04.2 initiate

I know the whole neurocam thing has been done, but since no one knows what exactly it is or what they do, ive kept interest. There website now says "All Neurocam Operations have been suspended pending an internal audit by The Nautonier"

The thing that caught my eye was the text hidden with the background color and the strange comment at the end of the page. it looks like a cypher. anyone recognize the possible type of cypher or what it could all mean?

BTW, sorry if this is in the wrong forum.. there was so many to choose from.

I wouldn't mind working on a cipher (it's a great timewaster activity while at work), but I don't see a link anywhere -- could you edit your post and add the URL to the page in question, please?

thank you.
In case the page changes, here is the code hidden in a comment block:
Code:
A J J M L   J F L T L   T S P M D   A K M N T   P A R F M   L Q E A V
  T U T T L   Q S Q N T   L I T I N   T L I F L   C A L F L   R T P L A
  J A S I F   R U Y R E   T L A S R   M L F T P

My guess is a Playfair cipher...

Doesn't ROT and neither Viginere nor Playfair work with any of the obvious keywords. Not sure where to go from here.

Interesting in that this is the first action we've seen on the Neurocam site in some time.

Well, that image looks awefully perplexing: http://www.neurocam.com/nu.gif

Kind of reminded me of Medusa at first, but upon closer inspection, it doesnt really. . . Though, it does kind of resembles a spider as well. Anyone have any ideas?

Though, the hidden comment, if anyone noticed, is all made up of 5 characters. So, there is 16 strings of 5 characters a piece.

Neuro would have to do with the nerves . . . So a neuro cam would have to be something that takes video or pictures inside of a brain.

It needs an audit, so it needs to be inspected internally by the Nautonier, who I assume is the owner.

Sound familiar to anyone?

There a long history to Neurocam. Look around here for the thread or read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurocam

The image is the Nautonier's symbol. (see also http://nautonier.org/) He's basically the leader of the whole thing, but I've never seen him personally step in before. I was an Operative for awhile but I've been out of the loop since Phase One ended and not sure what is happening now. I'm trying to figure out if any of my old contacts still exist.

I've never seen them use this code before. They used to hide some information in a couple open directories on the website but those are all inaccessible now.

Oooh awesome. I was never an Op but I followed this one for about a year and a half, including the thread here about it. Like many, I am still not entirely sure what the specific thing is with it, but nonetheless found it ingenius - and very telling about human nature: you don't know who is behind it, what their agenda is, what your role is, why you get the assignments, what the point of any of it is - but you do it anyway. I love the concept regardless.

I checked the site about a month ago and it had only the video up - I think I followed the latest update on the NC thread here someone mentioned the video so I went to see about it.

Very cool there seems to be something stirring. It's been awhile but wasn't there some conflict with that Chris guy titan or whatever? I could be way blurry on details but I thought that guy went off and formed the Nautonier in some insider overthrow of the Cam. (Been awhile). Last I did hear Phase Two did begin but then was left hanging in midair and all the P2 Ops were rambling around scratching their heads.

If it's stirring again that's excellent....particularly if they'd expand coverage to this side of the pond.

EDIT: Ravingmad: just curious - I went to see about the updates on neuroboards and saw the thread about the Ruby Treaty. I am not familiar with it in NCI - but what I'm curious about is your take on it. This person's story of how it was obtained.

A man looking very suspicious with a plain case made a telephone call and left his brief case in the booth and walked off.

Me being the curious journalist that I am went over to the booth after a few minuites, looked left and right and whipped the case away. Omg my heart racing I legged it to my car and went home to prize it open.

Seriously? That just seemed a little too convenient to me. This was posted July 22 - but hasn't NCI been MIA for ages? Is this person an Op - and if so, was he just activated? or just stirring the pot to get some attention?

The enciphered text is similar to the plaintext on the neurocam site:

Code:

AJJ MLJFLT LTSPMDAK MNTPARFMLQ EAVT UTTL QSQNTLITI NTLIFLC AL FLRTPLAJ ASIFR UY RET LASRMLFTP
ALL ONLINE NEUROCAM OPERATIONS HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED PENDING AN INTERNAL AUDIT BY THE NAUTONIER

It's a substitution cipher with the key AUDIT:

Code:

AUDITBCEFGHJKLMNOPQRSVWXYZ
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Thanks for the help. It seems weird that they would encrypt the same message that is in plain text. Could possibly be some sort of Steganography.

Does anyone have a list of good blogs related to neurocam? a search on google results in outdated blogs that dont contain any info.

A hidden code containing a phrase that is substantially already on the same page with a keyword contained in the phrase itself.

Neurocam in a nutshell.

The best search engine for blogs I've found is http://blogsearch.google.com
